Immortality begins with Becoming an Alchemy Grandmaster

[Detected complete Law Extension Pill Formula, Fifth Order.]

[Beginner level achieved?]

The shimmering entry quietly hovered on the panel.

After confirming the formula was genuine, Luo Chen’s ecstatic mood gradually calmed down.

He began to ponder.

Before coming to the Land of Fallen Demons, he had accumulated 334 Achievement Points over many years.

Without Lan Ke Black and White Chess and with his Divine Soul Endowment slightly lacking, he spent 34 Achievement Points to forcibly start learning a Fourth Order Technique—Kai Mao Technique, taught by Han Zhan, to guard against the allure and phantasmal techniques of powerful beings like Jiao Emperor Liu Jun.

In the third stage of the Alchemy Realm, he intended to disrupt the mental state of competitor Sea Corner Tianmu with his rapid pill refining speed, thus spending 30 Achievement Points to start learning three types of Demon Race Body Refining Pills. This was somewhat wasteful. Third Order Pills could actually be refined normally with a bit more time given his capabilities.

In the fourth stage, for the three types of Transformation Pills, besides the Human Transformation Pill, he spent 20 Achievement Points learning the Demon Transformation Pill and the Monster Transformation Pill. This wasn’t wasteful, as Fourth Order Pills would require several years to fully comprehend a pill formula given his level. Like the Nascent Soul Pill Prescription, even after receiving Han Zhan’s original version, Luo Chen had pondered for decades, still uncertain.

Thus, the panel precisely showed 250 Achievement Points remaining.

What a perfect two hundred and fifty!

Initially, Luo Chen was worried whether the accumulated Achievement Points were enough.

But upon entering the fifth stage, he already sensed that this would be the final stage of the inheritance assessment.

The challenge of assessment was to refine a Fifth Order Law Extension Pill.

Crossing a major realm in pill refinement wasn’t unfamiliar to Luo Chen; he often did so.

In the Qi Refinement Stage, he refined Second Order Emperor Liquor, in the Foundation Establishment Stage, Third Order Nether Origin Pill, in the Golden Core Period, Fourth Order Black Emperor Cream, Purple Qi Imperial Poison Pill, and even Transformation Pills.

This time was especially striking.

That was because, as a Fourth Order Pill Master, his realm was at the Golden Core Period, yet the pill to be refined was Fifth Order.

In this situation, should it be considered crossing one major realm? Or two?

This made Luo Chen a bit perplexed.

If crossing one major realm, it wouldn’t be too problematic. Typically, it costs between ten to one hundred Achievement Points according to the rules he discovered early on.

If crossing two major realms, that would be troublesome.

One hundred to one thousand?

In this case, are 250 Achievement Points enough?

Staring at the entries on the Attribute Panel, Luo Chen pondered for a long time without making a decision.

”One must act prudently!”

Eventually, Luo Chen suppressed the agitation in his heart.

Although the formula was good, it also needed to be truly refined.

The Attribute Panel was his greatest support; in cases when personal pill refinement skills were not as good as Sea Corner Tianmu, he surpassed her by forcibly starting learning with Achievement Points, saving a significant amount of unnecessary trial and error time.

If Achievement Points were invested and were insufficient for beginner level, it would be a loss.

Thus, Luo Chen decided not to start directly, planning to thoroughly study the pill formula first!

The panel usage he discovered was not merely superficial.

Some techniques, if fulfilling prerequisites, can forcibly cross orders for learning, saving many Achievement Points. For example, the Kai Mao Technique, he had recently crossed orders without costing him one hundred Achievement Points for a Fourth Order Technique.

Also, high-order elixirs, with deeper understanding of the formula and heightened personal pill refinement skills, forcibly crossing orders can also save many Achievement Points. Specific examples can be referred to when learning Emperor Liquor during the Qi Refinement Stage.

”Let’s take it step by step!”

Luo Chen got up and left the dark little room.

...

”The so-called Qi Control Technique involves distinguishing, manipulating, and enticing external Spirit Qi and other means.”

”This technique, rather than saying it’s pill refinement, is more inclined towards a technique, but for the realm of pill refinement, it is more gentle.”

In the Alchemy Realm, atop an absolute summit.

Luo Chen sat cross-legged, letting the fierce wind hit his face, his Daoist robe flapping loudly.

His eyes clear, his fingertips forming seal gestures without pause.

Overall, it felt somewhat lagging.

Time had already surpassed half a year since he reached the fifth stage.

For this half year, he devotedly researched the pill formula of the Law Extension Pill, even meticulously transcribing two extra copies, one inscribed onto a Jade Slip with Divine Consciousness, the other written on Bamboo Slips with ink.

The former for preservation, the latter for convenient review.

However, the progress of understanding this formula was exceedingly slow.

The Fifth Order Elixir, under normal circumstances, could only be refined by Fifth Order Alchemists; some powerful Fourth Order Alchemists could also cross orders to refine it.

If aligning with realms, it was the difference between Divine Transformation and Nascent Soul Stage.

Thus, the refinement of this formula included many seemingly simple but inherently insurmountable conditions for Golden Core Cultivators!

How should I put it?

Just like Third Order Pills often require the True Fire of cultivators to assist at critical moments, but True Fire can only be evoked from the Foundation Establishment Stage and above. Can Qi Refinement Stage Cultivators do it? They cannot!

The Fifth Order Elixir also has many similar restrictions.

Without understanding these, Luo Chen had to study them separately.

From the pharmacology of each herb to the specific pill refining techniques, most intricate pill techniques, and more, he broke it down bit by bit.

Finally, he was surprised to find that the first three stages initially provided significant help at this moment.

The principal and auxiliary materials needed for the Law Extension Pill were recorded in the Bamboo Slips in the study of the first three stages; now, he found it easy to comprehend.
