Immortality begins with Becoming an Alchemy Grandmaster

Chapter 1191: Chapter 461: Golden Core Ceremony! Chapter 1191: Chapter 461: Golden Core Ceremony! Half a month ago.

In the eastern part of the Yu Ding Realm, amidst a continuous range of mountains.

A young man stepped out from within the splendidly majestic black palace among the clouds.

As he walked out, a sprightly young girl quickly came to greet him.

“Big Brother, see, I wasn’t wrong! This time, you can take me out to play.”

The young man shook his head, “This trip isn’t for fun, but for official business.”

“I don’t care, as long as I get to go out, I’ve heard it’s really fun outside.” The girl charmingly pouted, seemingly undisturbed by the Glint of incoming and outgoing people as she naturally took the young man’s arm.

The young man sighed and said, “Let’s not be hasty, we’ll set off after I go and report to my mother.”

“Okay, Huan ‘Er will listen to Big Brother.”

…

Not long after, the young man rode a white cloud and descended onto a small hill not far from the Sect Leader’s main peak.

As he walked through the mist, getting closer, an elegant courtyard came into view.

Upon entering the courtyard, a faint scent of sandalwood greeted him, accompanied by the intermittent delicate sound of a wooden fish being struck.

The man paused for a moment and before he could speak, a gentle voice approached him.

“Is it Yuan Jiang?”

Qin Yuan Jiang acknowledged and entered the courtyard.

It didn’t take long for the familiar visage of his mother, Murong Qinglian, dressed in plain white clothes, holding Buddha beads in one hand and striking a wooden fish with the other, to fill his view.

“Son pays respects to Mother.”

Seeing his mother like this, Qin Yuan Jiang felt an unexpected pang of pain in his heart.

He had thought that by bringing his mother back to the Luo Yun Sect, he would be able to take care of her and let her enjoy her remaining years.

But some things couldn’t simply be summed up as “the joy of family.”

In her life, although his mother wasn’t overbearing, she had always been independent and self-reliant, never depending on anyone else.

When she was with his father among the Rogue Cultivators, they supported each other and made their way together.

In the Luo Tian Creed, she held great power, supervising and commanding thousands of cultivators.

Suddenly leaving behind various affairs to come to the Luo Yun Sect, she had not adjusted even after several years.

After all, although elder in name, she was a Foundation Establishment True Cultivator and only a little over a hundred years old, in the prime of her life.

To confine her to leisure was to imprison her restlessness.

After he had asked the Elders of the Sect to accommodate his mother, she spent years failing to adapt to life in the Luo Yun Sect. One day she had an epiphany and spent her days by the ancient Buddha, claiming she wanted to pray for her deceased husband and her son.

The stark contrast often made Qin Yuan Jiang wonder if his decision to bring his mother back had been a mistake.

The mother he remembered was gentle yet resilient, kind yet possessing a strength on which one could rely.

In this tiny courtyard’s sanctuary…

“Do you need something?”

As Qin Yuan Jiang was lost in thought, the gentle voice of Murong Qinglian chimed in.

Qin Yuan Jiang shook his head, steadying his mind before speaking, “The Sect Leader has instructed me to leave the mountain and attend the Golden Core Ceremony of Elder Dan Chen…Uncle Luo.”

The sound of the wooden fish abruptly stopped.

“I’m here to ask if Mother would like to come with me, to see some old friends?”

After speaking, he fell silent.

His master was the current Sect Leader of the Luo Yun Sect.

The Sect Leader was responsible for issuing orders for all secular and general matters, and naturally, it was the Sect Leader who arranged for representatives and festivities for occasions of congratulations.

This time, the person leading the congratulations to Luo Chen was the Elder in the Golden Core Period, Qu Xibai, who just happened to be on duty at Tian Lan Immortal City.

Still, the Sect needed to send someone to deliver the appropriate gifts.

The Sect Leader of Luo Yun knew well of Qin Yuan Jiang’s connections with the Luo Tian Sect, and also the ties he had with Luo Chen.

Thus, the task of delivering the gifts fell upon him.

Additionally, he was asked to take his younger sister, who had just reached Foundation Establishment, out for a tour to promote the relationship between the younger generation.

He readily accepted this task, hoping to take the opportunity to let his mother unwind, as she couldn’t be expected to sit idly in the courtyard sanctuary for decades.

That was his hope.

Unfortunately…

After pondering for a while, Murong Qinglian spoke softly, “I have finally found peace of mind, so I’d rather not go.”

Qin Yuan Jiang opened his mouth as if to persuade, yet he didn’t know what to say.

He understood that his mother feared that going to Danxia Peak would bring back overwhelming memories.

“Since…”

“Although I won’t go, your Uncle Luo has finally achieved Core Formation Success through great hardships, and congratulations must be sent.”

Murong Qinglian got up from her cushion.

Appearing much leaner, she walked up to Qin Yuan Jiang, and with a flip of her wrist, a jet-black iron piece appeared in her hand.

“Is this… that Third Order Metal Type Technique?” Qin Yuan Jiang asked hesitantly.

Murong Qinglian nodded, caressing the iron piece with a faint smile gracing her face.

“When I first arrived at the Luo Yun Sect and was struggling to adapt, I wandered around some nearby Immortal City markets. For some reason, upon seeing this Third Order Metal Type Technique, I bought it on a whim.”

A fluke?

Qin Yuan Jiang knew in his heart that his mother still had his father on her mind.

His father, Qin Liangchen, primarily cultivated Metal Type techniques, though he never successfully established his Foundation.

Her subconscious purchase was out of longing, an imaginative hope that he was still alive, preparing the cultivation resources he might need.

“I’m well aware of the circumstances within the Luo Tian Creed.”

“Lower Rank techniques are abundant, but High-level ones are scarce.”

“This Great Geng Gold Sword Sutra has modest power, but spans from Qi Refinement Stage to Golden Core Period without a single omission.”

“Please deliver it on my behalf to Luo Chen, to enrich the Luo Tian… the Luo Tian Sect’s library for legacy, also as a congratulatory gift from the Qin Family to the founding of the Luo Tian Sect.”
