Immortality begins with Becoming an Alchemy Grandmaster

Chapter 93: Chapter 90: He, Luo Chen, is the Biggest Rat in the Broken Mountain Gang (First update) 2

After deeply studying the situation of the Broken Mountain Gang, Luo Chen learned that, unlike the battle squads, the Logistics Hall is mostly salary-based, with hardly any bonuses.

The income of the fighting squads, on the other hand, entirely relied on their victories.

When they suffered heavy casualties or made massive gains, these squads often received generous rewards.

Therefore, most battle-ready cultivators chose to join one of the three battle squads, or Wang Yuan’s Jiao Hall.

To Sikong Shoujia’s inquired, Luo Chen simply responded, “No rush, no rush!” Of course he was not in a rush. After training this batch of people to master their skills, his pill refinement work would be much easier.

Five days later.

Mi Shuhua personally came to the Pill Hall.

Luo Chen delayed no further and immediately ordered his subordinates to start refining the pills.

Heat rose from the three Pill Rooms again, and the Light-Smoke Sparse-Rain Building started working once more.

Watching Luo Chen moving around the three Pill Rooms, directing the cultivators while processing the medical herbs, the tension in Mi Shuhua’s heart eased a bit.

“Grandfather.”

“Hmm.”

Without turning his head, Mi Shuhua casually asked, “Have you learned anything from training under Hall Master Luo during these days?”

Mi Li replied softly, “His proficiency in handling the medicinal herbs for the two types of elixirs far surpasses that of the pill refiners our clan used to hire.” Mi Shuhua shook his head, “Those pill refiners could only refine Lower Grade Pills, definitely not comparable to Luo Chen.”

Mi Li thought for a while, “The Hall Master also has a great deal of experience in controlling the fire temperature.”

“That’s not what I’m asking about!”

“For the rest, he never mentioned them, and he doesn’t allow us Medicine Disciples to observe.”

“Medicine Disciples?” Mi Shuhua was somewhat curious about this title.

Mi Li explained right away, “Currently, within Pill Hall, two positions have been established: Medicine Disciple and Fire Worker. The nature of these jobs should be evident from their names.”

After hearing this, Mi Shuhua, with a frown, got lost in thought before raising his eyebrows.

“Go into observe!”

Looking up, Mi Li hesitated.

However, under Mi Shuhua’s firm gaze, she eventually entered the pill room where Luo Chen was busy.

In the pill room-

Luo Chen noticed the newcomer right away.

He glanced over, his gaze was icy cold, not saying a word.

The woman stood still.

The fire worker who was stoking the fire also held his breath.

For a moment, aside from the crackling of the Green Steel Wood and the bubbling sound from the pill furnace, there was complete silence in the room. Outside the pill room, Mi Shuhua was, of course, keeping a close watch on the situation inside.

First, he raised his eyebrows, then knit his brows, and finally took a deep sigh.

A voice message was delivered.

“Little Mi Li is the most talented at pill refining in our clan, now let her observe for a bit.”

“This is how I earn my living!”

“She…”

“No, unless I get another bottle of the Qi Nurturing Pill every month!”

Can observing someone else refining pills enable one to learn their skills?

The answer to this question varies depending on the individual.

Extremely talented individuals may gain insights and make connections from a minor skill or a single output of Spirit Power.

For most people without talent for the Dao of Alchemy, they probably won’t grasp anything, even after watching hundreds of times.

This holds especially true for those whose fundamental understanding of Dao of Alchemy is not solid enough.

Luo Chen’s proficiency in refining Allure Pills has already reached the

Perfection Level, the pills he refines are at least of Medium Grade.

In other words, his mastery of pill refinement for the Allure Pill has reached the initial stage of a Grandmaster.

His techniques are completely different from those of beginners.

The stuff Mi Li is attentively watching and hopefully learning are for refining Medium Grade Allure Pills.

The problem is, can she refine Medium Grade pills after learning these techniques?

The answer is no.

Because she has to start from refining the Lower Grade Allure Pills.

And the techniques for refining Lower Grade Allure Pills have already been gradually simplified by Luo Chen as his proficiency kept advancing.

Without those relatively basic techniques, Mi Li may never be able to refine even Lower Grade Allure Pills in her lifetime, let alone Medium Grade.

That’s why Luo Chen actually isn’t worried about his livelihood being stolen.

But since he has got this title, he certainly wouldn’t let it go without taking advantage of it.

An extra bottle of Qi Nurturing Pill every month, another opportunity for him to shear the sheep!

As a pill of Beginner Order, the refinement time for the Allure Pill is much longer than that for the Fasting Pill.

The refinement in the three pill rooms took all morning to finish.

Under Mi Shuhua’s gaze, Luo Chen dismissed everyone else and began his personal pill collection.

In the pill room, Luo Chen was solemn as he cast the Attraction Technique and opened the furnace lid.

The Lower Grade Purple Cloud Bronze Furnace produced ten pills, seven of which were Medium Grade, and three Lower Grade.

Luo Chen was quite satisfied, as this was the result of his intentional control.

If he had done it all by himself, all the pills being Medium Grade would be completely normal.

“Although he has removed others, I suspect Mi Shuhua is secretly observing with his Spirit Consciousness.”

“But I don’t need to deliberately show off.”

“Just do as I normally would!”

Stepping out the door, he opened the furnace in another pill room.

A smell of burning immediately spread.

Luo Chen shook his head, showing no sign of regret.

Even with Proficiency promoted to the Perfection Level, it doesn’t guarantee a 100% success rate.

At the moment, his success rate is about 40%.

This is already quite high.

According to his experience with the fasting pill, the success rate at each stage seems to be relatively fixed.

10% for Beginners, 20% for Skilled, 30% for Mastery, and hovering around 40% for the Perfection Level..
