Facing an Ancient God for a Year

Chapter 2542: Chapter 2537: Mental Computation

Racking one’s brains, nothing could surpass this.

The scene was truly a bit horrifying. Whether it was the exploding skull or the ballooning gray matter, all undeniably gave people a strong sense of empathy, involuntarily producing phantom pains.

However, at that moment, Fu Qian didn’t mind this small side effect. Instead, he appreciated the gyrations of the cerebral gyri, imagining the great knowledge possibly surging within.

This is what brain matter should be, as the brain displays Vitality in an unconventional form.

As to why the Thinker would do such a thing, Fu Qian seemed to understand.

Manual overclocking, many times a certain idea in the mind is on the verge of surfacing but doesn’t come out; probably more than one person has thought of reaching in to tweak things, to enhance blood circulation.

Although the current actions were far more complex, the core demand was the same.

That is, forcibly breaking through limitations to recall an answer that should have been remembered, only to have been forgotten.

Thinking is a physical activity, getting the most direct interpretation at this moment—a steely will as well.

The Thinker’s kneading action was anything but gentle. In Fu Qian’s view, it was not a bit weaker than knocking on skulls.

Yet compared to the rapidly tearing meninges, the underlying thought center displayed a resilience beyond carbon-based life forms.

No matter how it deformed, stretched, or pinched short, whether budding or blooming, there wasn’t even a hint of bleeding.

In short, the computation result was something to look forward to.

As the theoretical culprit behind this scene, Fu Qian felt no shame at all.

As mentioned earlier, these confinement cells were all single units, the only seat now occupied by the Thinker.

Fu Qian didn’t mind either, leaning directly on the railing, quietly waiting for the bloom.

Of course, like in the Academy, a bit of logistical work could be considered.

His gaze fell on that overly classic electric chair design. Fu Qian took a shallow breath and then unleashed an almost minimal power Gospel Blast.

...

Who said you can’t do electrotherapy without touching electricity? Isn’t bioelectricity still electricity?

From this angle, the spiritual enlightenment of the Gospel Blast—what’s wrong with calling it electrotherapy?

It’s even wireless charging!

When in Rome, in a top-notch academic institution, Fu Qian was even less likely to limit his imagination and soon found tasks he could handle.

And it seemed the effect was immediate.

Although it was the lowest power Gospel Blast, and considering even the dean should lead by example, he specifically canceled the external sound, yet the Thinker still showed changes in an instant.

The entire person froze there, with the brain in his palm squeezed into the shape of a bathing flower.

Did he perhaps gain insight?

Professor Fu, also a mental worker, could resonate well with certain reactions.

Although it still looked painful, if overclocking had failed and despair struck, he wouldn’t be so selfless; more likely he would twist down the remaining parts of the skull.

Urgh—

It seemed the praise wasn’t misplaced. The next moment, a rather unpleasant, yet infinitely pleasurable sound squeezed out of the Thinker’s throat.

Ignoring the nearby support staff, the next moment he made an extremely bizarre move, specifically extending a middle finger.

...

Indeed, even pointing in the direction of Professor Fu.

The hand tormenting the brain was still clenched there, and the other, equally bloody hand made an exceedingly unreasonable gesture, desperately reaching out, obliquely pointing towards the ground.

But considering the human body structure, and never willing to leave the seat, reaching the ground was undoubtedly a bit difficult, so the longest middle finger was counted on with great hope.

Unfortunately, even so, it was obviously still out of reach, resulting in the Thinker’s visible irritation—crack!

Not out of reach now.

With an exceedingly unpleasant sound, the shoulder of that hand had already collapsed, and the smell of blood was even more intense.

Although the robe covered tightly, it was still easy to imagine, a scene where a part of the body was torn apart alive.

Ha—

Although further from a humanoid form, there was joyousness in the Thinker’s voice.

And the fingertip of his middle finger finally touched the long-desired spot ahead...

Is this the Golden Ratio?

And following Fu Qian’s gaze, it was easy to reach a conclusion as well.

Not that it’s nonsensical; the Thinker’s middle fingertip is pressing on a slender silver line.

The same fine line that just now formed the Transcendent intercom.

Just as seen along the way, this kind of thing almost covered the entire research institution, visible on each tier of this lecture hall for instance.

The Thinker’s target was clearly very specific, a particular spot on this line.

Although not at the midpoint anyway, for Fu Qian it was still easy to determine some particularly distinctive characteristics.

Could it be something akin to an integrated circuit?

At that moment, he was quite inspired.

It was obvious these things weren’t ordinary decorations, and earlier had proven that seemingly mundane combinations could enable remote communication.

Even understanding it from this perspective, why carry out research in such a perilous place, while spending great efforts on such a flamboyant venue, seemed justified...

Could it be that the venue itself was the core research tool?

These things were like abacuses arranged on the ground, for researchers to calibrate and tweak, ultimately helping compute inconceivable knowledge?

Legends of the Olympic Math Master? No wonder there’s ambition to calculate the beginning and end.

And even more exciting was the possibility I was witnessing their discovery of the answer.

Crack—

Fu Qian said nothing, but still, a special sound broke the silence.

The Thinker’s middle finger, after being placed there, ceased no movements, with another finger attempting to connect to another independent point.

And unsurprisingly, the next moment, that hand tore apart directly in front of Fu Qian.

Hehe—

The Thinker’s voice grew even more intoxicated.

In the voice of extreme satisfaction, the hand holding the brain was actually released, stretching towards a more distant target.

But although still within the cage, ultimately, it was a bit too far, no longer a simple matter of tearing the body a little more.

Ugh—

Indeed, his voice plummeted instantly, painfully, as if to rend open his chest.

Tear!

This time the chest was fine, replaced by something that didn’t belong to human structure, aiding the breakthrough of limits.

Looking both like a long tail and a ribbon, it was torn from the flesh, stretched into a straight line, and connected with one of the silver lines on the ground.

Crucially, Fu Qian followed this view to find an apparently over-kneaded brain, slightly more swollen than before, evoking a sense of familiarity—Brain Jellyfish?
