Facing an Ancient God for a Year

Chapter 2299: Chapter 2294: Preservation Room

[Automatic White-Haired Dragon Form]

[Failure Product 3]

...

Professor Lisa’s demeanor was quite clear—she wasn’t just digging in at light speed while I was away; a group of people gathered here truly had matters to address.

However, the question arose again: what task required these four people to gather together?

Driven by this curiosity, Fu Qian naturally looked at the item in his hand.

And although it was just text, the content he saw next was undeniably impactful.

What lay before them was a document akin to an archive.

And the one in Fu Qian’s hand seemed to concern a certain special experimental product.

The content wasn’t detailed, but it was apparent that the writer of this document was attempting something unusual.

Gathering various types of extraordinary materials to impart a completely new property.

Even though there were only a few sentences, it was clear he had confidence and passion for this great work.

As for the result, it was already quite evident.

Clearly a failure product, even numbered.

Looking at the subsequent content, this project was deemed directionless and wasteful in materials due to a lack of progress, and was explicitly abandoned.

[She should have...there must be some unrecognized flaw...]

From the final words left unsaid, Fu Qian seemed to see an indomitable will and the spirit of the Academy—

”Whose is this?”

Looking up, he saw besides the busy Ji Liushuang, three pairs of eyes staring over here; having finished reading, Fu Qian expressed his curiosity accordingly.

”I don’t know, but it’s obviously from someone at Heaven’s Commencement Institute.”

No one else spoke up, and Professor Lisa frowned directly.

...

What an annoyed expression, don’t forget you’re part of Heaven’s Commencement Institute too.

Professor Lisa’s words carried a distinct emotional coloring.

Catching this, Fu Qian almost commented that outsiders harbor different intentions, though he finally held back with willpower.

As for why he reacted this way? It’s no wonder.

Although the brief description contained nothing improper, it exuded a passion that reminded one of legendary tales about the giant dragon girl.

Especially when facing a giant serpent girl, the impression might be even more unique.

”Oh? So why is it here?”

Such a heartfelt piece without a signature, Fu Qian’s gaze momentarily fell on other things.

”It seems obviously not from the same person. Are you anonymously soliciting contributions?”

”Not us...”

Fu Qian’s words were evidently provocative, and almost immediately Lisa sighed, filled with helplessness towards the world.

”It was that guy Cass who insisted.”

...

Just returned from scientific exploration, preparing to introduce new ideas to the Academy?

The director truly is diligent and vigorous.

Surprised by the numerous manuscripts before him, led directly by the first person of Heaven’s Commencement Institute, Fu Qian couldn’t help but admire this efficiency.

Though the aim seemed somewhat unclear.

”It seems like they’re all failed projects? Even if it’s to let everyone learn from experiences and lessons, isn’t this a bit much?”

Amid his thoughts, his gaze continuously swept, swiftly concluding.

”Because it’s not for them to learn from, it’s for Divine Ashes Institute.”

With that, Lisa remained expressionless, directly involving another high-end clique.

Divine Ashes Institute...

Scanning the numerous documents before him, clearly Heaven’s Commencement Institute’s internal disgrace, yet still linked to Old Master Veron and them, Fu Qian couldn’t help but ponder.

”Compensation for them?”

And soon, he reached a conclusion, attempting to confirm with Professor Lisa.

...

No response, but it seemed Professor Lisa’s eyes were bulging.

The shock wasn’t limited to her.

Wen Li, Riet... even the returning Miss Liushuang found themselves staring at one another.

”You all... really—why do you think this way?”

As Ji Liushuang put down what she held, the voice she emitted seemed to finally awaken Lisa.

And as the latter spoke, her admiration was apparent.

”Is there any problem with that? Even the experience of failure is a valuable asset. Moreover, different people value different things.”

Fu Qian’s face was full of confusion, hinting whether she was overreacting, casually providing a reason.

”Though the loss for Linghui is relatively large, they have always emphasized meaning over form. Compared to giving them material compensation, these intellectual crystals might be more appealing.

”Not to mention they are all failure products, which can provide emotional value.”

Linghui’s loss naturally referred to that chandelier.

When they sought help confirming the Jade Soul Master’s whereabouts, the institute’s precious heirloom was inadvertently smashed.

As a special guest, Cass immediately assured Heaven’s Commencement Institute would cover the costs, showcasing his resolve.

It proved indeed not an empty promise; in just a few days the proposal was out.

As for Professor Lisa’s admiration, it was simply about why such heroic perspectives aligned, and why she thought of it immediately.

...

”Cass wants to build a storeroom to preserve past failed attempts by the Academy’s mentors, avoiding pollution while offering learning value.”

Fu Qian’s final reason was somewhat abstract, but after a moment of silence, Professor Lisa couldn’t refute it.

Consequently, after taking a deep breath, she forcibly suppressed all emotional coloring, coldly articulating cause and effect.

”In his words, success may be coincidental, but failure has its reasons. Such a place isn’t even a wall of shame, but instead, the foundation upon which Heaven’s Commencement stands—”

”Well said, high insights from the director.”

Unfortunately, this barely maintained stance disintegrated promptly in the next moment.

Almost as soon as the words fell, Fu Qian couldn’t help but express admiration for the academic spirit the director embodied.

”Previously, I always saw the relics of the Swordsmanship Department seniors. Such generous shared insights were admirable... but in comparison, not minding openly sharing one’s failures for reference elevates the realm even higher.

”Given time, I believe the storeroom will undoubtedly become a Holy Land akin to Sword Pavilion.”

You two...

Lisa gazed in utter resignation.

”In summary, Cass’s compensation plan is to permanently share this ’treasure’ from Heaven’s Commencement freely with all Divine Ashes Institute members, allowing them to reference and learn anytime.

”We were just conducting preliminary sorting—so what do you think?”

However, soon she resiliently pulled herself together, explaining the group’s actions.

”I think it can be even more thorough, directly open it to the entire Academy.”

Without hesitation, Fu Qian suggested, after pondering briefly.
