Facing an Ancient God for a Year

Chapter 794: 792 Chapter 794: 792 “What? They won’t even open the door? They even say they don’t need it?”

In the clinic’s office, as Fu Qian gave a brief rundown of the situation, Dr. Kelly’s voice rose once again.

“This asshole.”

The next moment, she cursed with a tone filled with anger and regret.

Clearly, she wasn’t referring to Hushima Zhigui, but her good friend Nancy.

“I’ll go with you!”

After venting her emotions, she stood up decisively, signaling to Fu Qian to bring the tranquilizer.

“The road might be a bit long; do you have a car?”

Fu Qian had no objections but still reminded her.

“No, but Nancy does.”

Kelly answered naturally and pulled a set of keys out of her pocket.

Really taking everything for granted, the car and the house!

Astonished, Fu Qian didn’t hesitate to follow her out and got into Dr. Nancy’s car.

Kelly seemed very familiar with the surroundings, and with the speed of lightning, they arrived at the door of patient number one, Hushima Zhigui, much faster than before.

“It’s you again? What are you going to do now?”

As Fu Qian knocked on the door, Hushima Guizhi immediately questioned him, hiding behind the door with an even more wary stance.

“Yes, it’s me. Considering the severity of your condition, the doctor has personally come to treat you.”

Fu Qian gestured for Kelly to come forward.

“Your condition is very serious; you must take medication to control it.”

Unfortunately, it seemed the psychologist’s communication skills were even more simplistic and brute-force than his own.

“What medication? I’m not sick.”

And Hushima Zhigui’s response was the same, as if he was facing a conspiracy against him.

“Do you know who I am?”

In this situation, Kelly suddenly asked.

“Aren’t you one of the doctors from the clinic?”

Hushima Zhigui replied quite naturally.

“So if you’re not sick, how would you know that?”

Kelly then asked.

…

Clearly, this blow had plunged Hushima Zhigui’s logical thinking into turmoil; his expression twisted.

“I just know.”

After a long while, he managed to stabilize his state, displaying firm confidence.

“If you don’t have anything else, I’m going to close the door now.”

True to his word, he really began to close the door.

“Hushima Zhigui, can you still hear those voices?”

In the face of this scene, Kelly asked a third question, unperturbed.

…

The motion of closing the door stopped, and Hushima Zhigui stared hard at Kelly, his expression twisting even more violently.

“Otherwise, what is that you’re stuffing in your ears?”

Kelly was relentless, pursuing her advantage without easing up.

Good eye, he’s recovering well recently!

Fu Qian inwardly praised, noticing that Hushima Zhigui had cotton-like material stuffed in his ears, something he had observed during his last visit.

At that time, lacking case information, he merely found it abnormal and did not associate it with anything else.

“That’s none of your business…”

“It is, because you will accept this thing I’ve brought for you.”

Seeing Hushima Zhigui’s momentum undergo a series of breakdowns, Kelly triumphantly took a paper bag and handed it over.

“If you want me to accept it.”

Unfortunately, even under such tactics, Hushima Zhigui ultimately still resisted the pressure and didn’t take it.

“Then bring me ten pounds of candles, or it’s not happening.”

It was still that answer!

As Kelly’s movements stiffened, Fu Qian sighed to himself on the side.

“Ten pounds of candles?”

Upon hearing these demands, Kelly almost gnashed her teeth as she repeated the question.

“Are you kidding? Where would I get that much for you!”

“How could you not!”

Hushima Zhigui instantly rebutted, then clearly and consecutively listed three locations, including but not limited to a certain convenience store, a certain chain supermarket, and an address that clearly sounded residential.

So you’re really just like Ms. Nancy, too scared to go out, huh?

You know the addresses, but you simply refuse to fetch them yourself.

Fu Qian shook his head as he listened.

“Are you sure?”

Kelly was obviously skeptical, but what responded to her was the crisp sound of Zhigui closing the door.

“The situation is more serious than I thought.”

Helplessly, Kelly looked at Fu Qian, her face betraying her deep concern.

“Did you get all the addresses just now?”

The amount of data wasn’t a problem, and Fu Qian nodded.

“So, we’re going to look for candles?”

“He’s so insistent, trying to force it could cause trouble; let’s just follow his train of thought and guide him gradually.”

Kelly made a decisive decision.

“At least he won’t leave the house; we don’t have to worry about him causing chaos.”

“No problem.”

Fu Qian expressed no objections.

“Then let’s follow the order he gave.”

…

It turned out that candles aren’t that abundant in convenience stores or supermarkets these days.

Half an hour later, when Fu Qian placed his findings before Kelly, her expression turned doubtful.

“Is this enough?”

“Far from it, not even half.”

Fu Qian casually weighed them and gave an assessment.

That’s way too little!

“There’s one last place.”

Kelly gritted her teeth for a moment, then rushed towards the final address.

Minutes later, Fu Qian pushed open the slightly ajar door, and facing the empty room, he soon made a discovery.

“Are these all?”

Looking at the pile of colorful, variously shaped candles Fu Qian dropped on the table, Kelly was obviously startled.

“The melting point might be a bit low, but Zhigui probably won’t mind.”

“In terms of quantity, it’s sufficient.”

Fu Qian couldn’t be bothered to explain too much and simply tossed everything together.

Rather than fussing over such trivial issues, he was more concerned about something else—how did Hushima Zhigui know?

Convenience stores and the like were understandable, but this place wasn’t easy to find. Could it be that Hushima Zhigui also knew about the apartment owner’s peculiar habits?

It all felt tremendously odd.

…

“We’ve found what you wanted.”

Kelly, however, didn’t think too much; having found the task items, she immediately took Fu Qian back at full speed to Hushima Zhigui’s place and called him out again after knocking on the door.

And behind the door, Hushima Zhigui, seeing a full bag placed before him, seemed pleasantly surprised and didn’t hesitate to open the door.

“Are you telling me to eat the medicine in there?”

Excitedly taking the candles, his mood uplifted, he didn’t complain about the assorted types and even pointed at the paper bag that Kelly had brought along, asking.

“Yes…”

Facing such a rapid change of attitude, it was clear that Kelly was a bit bewildered, but in the end, she nodded.

“Alright… then I’ll accept it.”

True to his word, Hushima Zhigui really reached out to take it.

“However, I will drink this stuff later.”

Unfortunately, as he spoke, his hand fell short in the air.

The paper bag containing the tranquilizer had been snatched away by Fu Qian first.
