”The Bundesliga is finally back; otherwise, I would have died of boredom during this winter break.”

”Hahaha, exactly, I believe all the fans have been waiting anxiously... We hope everyone enjoys today’s big match.”

”Just an hour ago, Wolfsburg lost 1-3 to Bayern Munich.”

”On the real-time league table, Bayern Munich, with one more game played, holds a 6-point advantage.”

”This is not good news for Bayer Leverkusen today.”

”Exactly!”

On Germany’s Sport1 channel, the familiar old partners Mehmet Scholl and Oliver Kahn were commentating on this big match after the winter break!

Bundesliga Round 18, Bayer Leverkusen vs. Borussia Dortmund!

In the first leg, which was the first round of this season’s Bundesliga, Borussia Dortmund defeated Bayer Leverkusen by 2 goals.

”Yes, Bayer Leverkusen went through a period of consecutive winless matches at the beginning of the season, and their form was indeed sluggish.”

”New defensive players like Maguire, Rüdiger, and Van Dijk hadn’t yet developed chemistry, and Lance and De Bruyne in the front didn’t find their rhythm either.”

”The Belgian twin stars didn’t display their true strength.”

”After some adjustments and integration, I believe Bayer Leverkusen is back... Before the match begins, let’s take a look at the starting lineups.”

The Sport1 channel displayed both teams’ starting lineups.

Bayer Leverkusen 4-2-3-1

Goalkeeper: Leno

Defenders: Joshua Kimmich, Maguire, Van Dijk, Nathan Aké

Midfielders: Rolfes, Lars Bender, De Bruyne, Lance, Son Heung-min

Forward: Firmino

Borussia Dortmund 4-3-3

Goalkeeper: Weidenfeller

Defenders: Piszczek, Hummels, Neven Suboti?, Schmelzer

Midfielders: Gündo?an, Sven Bender, Mkhitaryan

Forwards: Reus, Aubameyang, Shinji Kagawa

”It looks like Aubameyang can take Lewandowski’s place after he left.”

”In terms of shooting and ball handling skills, Aubameyang is not as good as Lewandowski.”

”But Aubameyang is very fast, which can compensate for some of the threat.”

”Yes, Reus and Shinji Kagawa on both wings, combined with Aubameyang, can create very fluid plays, and Gündo?an is behind them...”

”Borussia Dortmund is currently ranked 3rd, 5 points behind Bayer Leverkusen.”

”If they win this match, Borussia Dortmund can also join the title contention...”

”The competition is also very intense.”

”Thanks to Bayer Leverkusen, otherwise this season’s Bundesliga would have no suspense, hahahaha...”

As a Bayern legend, Scholl was eager to see chaos.

”Seeing more competitive teams in the Bundesliga is also a good thing for German football...”

Whilst the commentators were discussing the starting lineups, Lance was waiting on the pitch for the match to begin, and Joshua Kimmich stood beside him, making him very uncomfortable.

”Wait, when did you appear?”

”How long has it been, and you still haven’t got used to it? What, you don’t welcome me here?”

Joshua Kimmich’s expression was very resentful.

In January 2015, after the winter transfer window opened, Bayer Leverkusen planned to strengthen their right-back position.

The centre-backs Maguire, Rüdiger, and Van Dijk were already strong enough.

Nathan Aké, the left-back, was performing better and better, becoming an impenetrable barrier on the left flank.

Only the right flank, the previous right-back Donati always let players through, giving the coaching staff a headache.

Taking advantage of the winter transfer window, they targeted Joshua Kimmich, the right-back from the 2. Bundesliga team RB Leipzig.

Kimmich could also play as a defensive midfielder, serving as a versatile player in the central defence and midfield.

Kimmich came from the VfB Stuttgart youth academy, but was rejected by the VfB Stuttgart reserve team and could only play in the 2. Bundesliga.

He didn’t know that RB Leipzig would become a strong Bundesliga team in the future, he only knew that if he stayed in the 2. Bundesliga, he would rot away.

During the winter transfer window, Kimmich’s agent confronted RB Leipzig, and since his contract was about to expire, RB Leipzig decided to cash in.

Coincidentally, Bayer Leverkusen was searching the world for a centre-back, their scouts had already observed Kimmich in matches and didn’t hesitate to spend 5 million euros to acquire him.

And so, Joshua Kimmich became Lance’s teammate.

Lance still remembered his first match, where the opponent was RB Leipzig in the German Cup, and it was Kimmich in front of him.

In front of Kimmich, Lance completed a comeback, becoming famous with one goal and earning an opportunity to play in the league.

Speaking of which, Kimmich was his lucky star.

Little did he know, Joshua Kimmich, upon hearing he could come to Bayer Leverkusen, signed without hesitation.

After their last encounter, Kimmich thought Lance was just an ordinary young lad, but in the blink of an eye, Lance had become a sensational prodigy in the Bundesliga, whilst Kimmich was still unknown.

This inevitably made Kimmich feel some admiration and longing; if he became Lance’s teammate, could he also become famous with one goal?

”Just don’t mess up, 2. Bundesliga rookie.”

”Fuck off!! Let me show you my strength!”

Kimmich glared angrily.

How could he tolerate being underestimated by Lance?

He had to prove himself!

After the match began, Kimmich was very active, and in a 1v1, he completely shut down Borussia Dortmund’s attacking core, Reus!

”Kimmich!! A clean and decisive tackle, kicking the ball out of bounds!”

”A spirited young player, very aggressive!”

After tackling Reus, Kimmich even gave Reus a defiant stare.

This left Reus utterly bewildered, ’What the hell did I do to offend you?’

Lance walked by and kindly helped Reus up.

Lance still held great respect for this number 11 who remained loyal to Borussia Dortmund.

”Did I offend your right-back?”

”No, no, he’s just like that, don’t take it to heart.”

Lance almost couldn’t hold back his laughter.

Young people really can’t resist provocation; just a casual remark made Kimmich’s performance explode.

Being able to neutralise Reus was like Bayer Leverkusen cutting off an arm, Shinji Kagawa on the right flank posed no threat, after his stint at Manchester United, Shinji Kagawa had lost the sharpness he had when he first joined the Bundesliga, and now he was just one of the crowd.

Borussia Dortmund’s proud attacking group was silenced, but their defence was still very strong, with high pressing making it difficult for Bayer Leverkusen to gain possession.

Both sides were locked in a stalemate around the midfield, and in a flash, 90 minutes flew by, both teams still maintained a tense and exciting 0-0! Neither side could score!

As the match entered the 80th minute, Bayer Leverkusen was running out of time.

A draw with Borussia Dortmund would only benefit Bayern Munich, with no advantage for either Bayer Leverkusen or Borussia Dortmund.

In the last 10 minutes, neither side could hold back, launching all-out attacks!

Aubameyang made a mistake with the ball and was single-handedly defended by Van Dijk in a 1v1, the tackle immediately sent the ball to midfield, it was Bayer Leverkusen’s turn to counterattack!

Lance dropped back to receive the ball, back-heeled it to Lars Bender, then turned and surged forward!

Lars Bender attracted the attention of his good brother Sven Bender, then passed it back to Lance, a clever one-two combination to break through, Lance activated his sprint mode!

[Bachira Meguru] The inner monster awakens!

”Lance!! He’s charging! Gündo?an and Mkhitaryan are trying to close him down...”

”Beautiful!!! What a goal!”

Amidst commentator Scholl’s excited voice, Lance faked a rainbow flick, clipping the ball over his head with his heel.

Gündo?an, enraged, collided with him!

”What are you showing off for!”

But Lance’s move was just a feint!

His ”monster’s intuition” made him stop halfway through the action, instantly nudging the ball back, nutmegging Gündo?an whilst slipping past him on the right, then receiving the ball and nutmegging Mkhitaryan with his left foot!

From the TV camera, Lance performed a stylish ”Z” shaped breakthrough!

Like Zorro, the European swashbuckler, he went straight for the enemy’s vital points!

”My God?!”

Dortmund’s Klopp was stunned; ’Kloppo’ took off his hat, petrified on the spot.

He watched helplessly as Lance and Firmino executed a wall pass, cleverly penetrating the centre with a 2v2.

”Firmino!! Through ball! What a wall pass—”

”Lance is in the box!!! Low shot to the bottom corner!!”

”Gooooooooooal!!! This is Lance! This is our magician!”

”Bayer Leverkusen snatches the win! Successful revenge!”

Seeing this scene, Klopp slumped into his chair and pulled out his phone to send a text message to Borussia Dortmund manager Watzke.

”I’m tired, find someone else to take over the team.”

Lance, celebrating the last-minute goal with his teammates, was still unaware that his nickname ”Coach Killer” was about to be confirmed, as the famous Bundesliga coach Klopp was about to be sacked because of him.
