Chapter 1988: Chapter 1989: Doubts in the Heart

This is the Sixth Region!

Here, there is its own way of fighting!

...

In an instant, at least three to four thousand people charged down from the city walls!

The strangest thing was, Ye Luo’s squad had the most people charging out!

Looking at other squads, generally only about a dozen people were charging down!

Each squad consists of one hundred people!

It can be said, they were prepared to take turns attacking!

Only on Ye Luo’s side, because Ye Luo had no command at all, so those willing to charge out simply did!

And those unwilling didn’t act!

Ye Luo was surprised, not understanding why these people were initiating an attack when they were supposed to defend the city!

He was confused, for in Ye Luo’s heart, he was not inexperienced in commanding wars!

But this way of fighting, he couldn’t comprehend!

”Defense Formation activated! Support Formation activated!”

From afar, the voice of that Elder echoed again!

Beams of light continuously appeared, descending on those who had charged out!

Bestowing them various kinds of strength!

The Sixth Region!

Fighting has always been like this!

The so-called defense wasn’t truly defense, it was just a way of fighting relying on the city!

In fact, within the city, there were almost no attack methods, mostly defensive and supportive formations!

Ye Luo was stunned, because he didn’t understand the situation, and naturally, a puzzled expression appeared on his face!

Fortunately, at this moment, someone finally spoke!

”What’s wrong, squad leader, you haven’t experienced battle before, have you?”

Ye Luo wanted to retort, but looking at the current situation, it was obviously entirely different from what Ye Luo had encountered before, so indeed, Ye Luo hadn’t truly experienced battle!

At least, he hadn’t experienced a city defense in the Sixth Region!

Ye Luo hesitated for a moment, but nodded nevertheless!

”So that’s it, no need for doubt, brothers knew as soon as they saw you!”

”What do you mean by that?”

Ye Luo was slightly confused, to be honest, Ye Luo was unconvinced in his heart, after all, Ye Luo believed that he had plenty of combat experience and command experience!

But this person actually said that he had never battled at first glance, and even said that most people could see it at a glance!

This naturally made Ye Luo puzzled!

”Haha, squad leader, is there really a need to say more?

If you had truly experienced battle, I fear the moment we were assigned to you, you would have immediately started deploying personnel, confirming the demon beast hunting strategy!

Let me ask you, in your eyes, how should a city be defended?”

This question?

Ye Luo barely hesitated and immediately answered: ”City defense, naturally relies on the walls and formations to keep the enemy outside, preventing them from breaking through the city! Is there a problem?”

When Ye Luo said this, he obviously saw many people around looking at him in surprise!

The expression was like saying, Ye Luo was just some young master!

But Ye Luo didn’t feel there was any problem with what he said!

”Haha, there is a problem! Naturally, there is a problem! This is fighting demon beasts, and it’s against numerous demon beasts, relying on city walls and formations?

Thank goodness you can think of that! How large must those giant demon beasts be? Standing on the walls, wouldn’t you be a sitting duck? Besides, relying on walls and formations?

Which of these formations isn’t immensely powerful, unless, would you have everyone stand on the walls? Once a formation is activated, does it discern between enemy and ally?”

This?

This statement felt problematic to Ye Luo, after all, in Ye Luo’s cognition, standing on the walls, relying on formations, and using everyone’s secret techniques to bombard demon beasts seems the correct strategy!

Moreover, with the previous wave of demon beasts, wasn’t everyone doing exactly that? Ye Luo had clearly witnessed it!

Noticing Ye Luo’s puzzled expression, a nearby squad leader spoke to Ye Luo: ”Brother, you’re from out of town, right? Maybe you haven’t experienced battles, you’re probably a disciple from some major power!

But of course, disciples from great powers like yours, how could they have experienced real combat!

Defense Formations of the city, once activated, each one is immensely powerful but consumes a lot, naturally, they can’t be easily activated, during a demon beast attack, we can’t rely on the city walls! After all, once let the demon beasts approach, how many attacks can the walls withstand? I fear they’d be shattered in no time!

So, city defense is naturally about step-by-step intercepting demon beasts under various support formations, only by defeating demon beasts in the wild, or repelling them, or blocking them can the city be truly defended!”

Damn!

Forgot about that!

People in the Sixth Region almost all have Law strength, so naturally, demon beasts do too, with immensely powerful attacks!

Relying on these walls, they could probably be breached in no time!

These walls are basically just for show!

Or more accurately, there’s no such thing as proper city defense!

The defense is just a term, the real fighting style still relies on individual power!

Although Ye Luo still doesn’t quite understand the reason, in his heart he’s come to some realizations!

Of course, as for the true reason, Ye Luo didn’t want to delve into it!

Looking at the battle ahead!

Even though Ye Luo had more doubts in his heart, he understood now wasn’t the time to ask!

The first batch of people who charged out suffered some losses, but they were quite a reward since the formation support allowed them to significantly enhance their strength!

The power of the formation could even elevate some people’s strength by a whole order!

Facing demon beasts, naturally, they could hold a certain advantage!

And at this moment, the second wave of people had already charged out, and before long, the first wave of demon beast attacks was finally repelled!

Looking at the battle ahead!

Suddenly, a flash of inspiration crossed Ye Luo’s mind!

He understood!

Strength is paramount!

Personal combat power is the essence of the Sixth Region!

In fact, the battle in the Sixth Region is extremely simple, it’s personal combat!

The city can only provide auxiliary power support!

The so-called defense isn’t much different from field combat!

Of course, understanding is one thing, and acceptance is another matter.

At this moment, Ye Luo couldn’t help but remain deeply puzzled as to why such a fighting style was chosen?

According to Ye Luo’s thinking, another combat method could be used, such as organizing battle formations!

But Ye Luo forgot one thing, that is, in Divine Phoenix City, except for the Divine Phoenix Palace and some Great Sects could organize teams of over a thousand people!

How could other forces possibly achieve that!
