Peerless Divine Doctor

”Talk nonsense again, and I’ll make you regret it!”

Hu Zi said without any courtesy. His tiger-like eyes flashed with intense anger, as the heartlessness of Sun Dade before had left him with no good feelings toward these doctors.

What he felt was deep disgust and fury. If he hadn’t heard Ye Luo saying that his father could still be saved, he would have already lost his senses and given these guys a severe beating.

Thud thud thud!

Just then, a series of heavy footsteps were heard. A group of police officers led by a woman in a police uniform, dignified and imposing, arrived at the scene. The woman in the lead was Yang Bingning.

Seeing the police officers appear, the hospital director and Sun Dade and others all showed excited expressions.

The director directly approached Yang Bingning and said, ”Hello, I am the director of the City Hospital, my name is Wang Dawei.”

”Hello, I am the captain of the Zhonghai Police Department Criminal Investigation Division, Yang Bingning. I heard that someone intentionally caused injury here.”

Yang Bingning spoke with a solemn expression.

”Exactly, Captain Yang. Look at the injury on my face. My nose has even been smashed, and all our hospital security staff have been beaten. You must quickly subdue these thugs.”

Sun Dade spoke with a pitiful look on his face. Yang Bingning, seeing the situation in front of her, frowned slightly and her gaze swept toward Hei Zi and Hu Zi.

”Who are you, and why are you openly assaulting people in the hospital?”

”They deserved to be hit, these inhumane, unethical doctors! Just because I didn’t pay the surgery fee, they refused to operate on my critically ill father, causing his death. These people are pure scum,” Hu Zi said indignantly, his eyes filled with a fierce aura as he glared at Sun Dade, who, frightened by Hu Zi’s gaze, hid behind the director and didn’t forget to say:

”Nonsense! You’re slandering us. I was following the hospital’s rules. If everyone were like you, just having surgeries without paying, then should this hospital even stay open?”

Hearing this, Yang Bingning slightly creased her brow and said, ”No matter what, it’s not right for you to have injured someone. Are there still people in that sickroom?”

”Yes, there’s another kid who popped out of nowhere and says he’s going to revive that dead person. I think he’s simply crazy. Officer, take him away too,” Sun Dade said repeatedly.

”Step aside, and open the door.”

Yang Bingning commanded.

”No, no one is allowed to enter here,” Hei Zi said with a grim face.

”I order you to move aside in my capacity as the head of the Criminal Investigation Division,” Yang Bingning spoke as her hand suddenly reached out, only to be grabbed by Hei Zi. Seeing this, Yang Bingning’s eyes flashed with surprise, and her other hand fiercely lashed out, only to be blocked by Hei Zi again.

”Don’t move!”

At that moment, the group of police officers simultaneously drew their guns and aimed them at Hei Zi and Hu Zi.

Hei Zi’s expression changed slightly and he immediately released Yang Bingning.

Yang Bingning stepped back two paces, her gaze sharpened, and she said in a deep voice, ”Move aside.”

Facing the threat of so many firearms, Hei Zi and Hu Zi had no choice but to step aside. Just as Yang Bingning was about to open the door to the hospital room to investigate, the door suddenly swung open and Ye Luo appeared, his figure seemingly pale.

”Beautiful policewoman sister, long time no see. Have you missed me, coming all this way to find me?”

Ye Luo said to Yang Bingning, a devilish smile playing at the corners of his mouth.

”Why is it you?”

Seeing Ye Luo, Yang Bingning’s expression changed, revealing a look of astonishment in her eyes.

”If not me, who else does the beautiful policewoman sister think it would be?” Ye Luo chuckled.

”Vice Chief Ye, my father, he...”

Seeing Ye Luo appear, Hu Zi’s face instantly became a mix of trepidation, anticipation, and nervousness. His heart beat erratically, fearful of hearing any bad news.

”Don’t worry, I promised I would save your father, and I’ll keep that promise. Come in, he’s awake now.”

With a faint smile on his lips, Ye Luo beckoned them inside, and immediately Hu Zi and Hei Zi rushed in. Yang Bingning and the rest, including Sun Dade’s group, entered with faces full of suspicion.

Inside the hospital room, Hu Zi’s father lay on the bed. His previously pale and haggard face had regained some color, and he had woken up and seemed to be faring quite well. As for Lin Xiaoyan, she stood to one side, her expression one of stunned disbelief.

”Father!”

Seeing this, Hu Zi was ecstatic. He ran to the bedside, his face filled with emotion.

”Hu Zi, I never thought I’d see you again. I thought I was going to die for sure,” uttered Hu Zi’s father in disbelief.

”Father, I’m just glad you’re okay, I’m so glad.”

Hu Zi’s eyes, brimming with emotion, spilled tears, and he suddenly turned and knelt before Ye Luo.

”Vice Chief Ye, thank you for saving my father. I, Hu Zi, can never repay this debt. For the rest of my life, I am at your command. Whatever you ask of me, I will not hesitate.”

Hu Zi said resolutely, his expression grave.

”There’s no need for such words. I don’t save lives for repayment. In any case, you are one of my men, and doing this little thing is nothing. A man’s knees are precious; stand up,” Ye Luo hurriedly helped Hu Zi to his feet.

Those doctors, including Sun Dade, watched as the patient on the bed miraculously came back to life, all wearing expressions of shock, their eyes wide and mouths agape.

”I have your father’s condition under control, and he’s already beginning to improve. I’ll come by every day to provide acupuncture, and then later I’ll prescribe some medicine. In less than half a month, your father should make a full recovery,” Ye Luo told Hu Zi calmly.

In an instant, both Hu Zi and Hei Zi looked at Ye Luo, their faces filled with incredulity. They had only expected Ye Luo to temporarily save Hu Zi’s father, allowing him a bit more time to live, but they had never imagined there was a possibility of curing his illness—a terminal liver cancer.

In this world, diseases associated with cancer are practically a death sentence, with virtually no successes in treatment. Even if there were, it would be a one in a hundred thousand or one in a million chance, especially considering the severity of Hu Zi’s father’s liver cancer.

”Impossible, kid, you’re full of hot air. That old man has late-stage liver cancer. Do you think you’re an Immortal, hoping for a full recovery? You’re dreaming. I think you’ve gone mad,” Sun Dade burst out, looking at Ye Luo with a face full of scorn.

Ye Luo’s eyes narrowed slightly as he glanced at Sun Dade, took a step forward, and in a flash, appeared in front of him. With a fierce swing, he slapped him hard across the face.
