Baby with Daoist Monarch System

”However, whether or not I’m number one, I need to test my skills!”

The mysterious creature looked at Xu Ran, a heavy aura emanating from its body. In an instant, the air around Xu Ran seemed to compress, twisting so much that it made breathing difficult.

The sudden pressure made Xu Ran frown.

At the same time, a faint white light spread across his body, forming a barrier that blocked the oppressive force from coming in.

”This oppressive force... that mysterious power, it really is it!”

The oppressive force from the mysterious creature contained the aura of the earth, and the giant stone figure outside also drew power from the earth.

But for Xu Ran, this oppressive force was nothing. Even with the barrier formed by the innate energy overflowing on his skin, he could still easily withstand the earth-like pressure!

”Indeed!”

The mysterious creature saw the white barrier surrounding Xu Ran and a look of realization appeared on its face.

”I thought something was wrong and sensed innate energy. It turns out it really is innate energy!”

The mysterious creature was quite surprised by the appearance of innate energy in the trial.

Though it served as the gatekeeper of the trial, it had its own awareness and some understanding of the Nine-Layered Giant Tower.

Other than spiritual qi, physical strength, soul power, and special constitution, all other powers would be sealed and unusable. No trialist could break such a rule.

But why did this newcomer have innate energy? This left it utterly perplexed.

”How are you able to use this innate energy?”

The mysterious creature withdrew the oppressive force aimed at Xu Ran, wanting to understand this matter, as it was the first time seeing it and it wanted to know the underlying reasons!

Though the oppressive force it emitted had no effect on Xu Ran.

Feeling the disappearance of the oppressive force, he still did not withdraw the barrier.

”Oh!” Xu Ran pondered for a moment, then spoke freely, ”The innate energy inside me overflows from my pores!”

As soon as Xu Ran said this, the valley fell into silence. The wind breezed through every corner of the valley, clearly carrying the rustling sound of leaves rubbing against each other.

The place in silence wasn’t just the valley, but also the soul bodies inside the dueling arena.

Although they already heard about it from their senior brother, hearing it from Xu Ran, and in such a casual manner, was quite heart-wrenching!

”You...” the mysterious creature stammered, ”are you... sure?”

It knew from Xu Ran’s eyes that this wasn’t a lie, yet it still asked again.

After all, such a thing, from the latter end of ancient times until now, through the endless years, it had never witnessed anything like this.

Innate energy was something that existed only at the dawn of heaven and earth, extremely rare, and not even the great powers of ancient times had much of it.

Moreover, after so long, any such energy should have been exhausted long ago, and what’s leftover would be unabsorbable.

The remaining innate energy is attached to the sun and moon, only absorbable from the morning glow and moonlight by nobody.

Even then, one wouldn’t know how long it would take to absorb for just the tiniest wisp of innate energy.

And even this wisp of innate energy is a weakened, weakened, weakened version compared to the real thing, entirely incomparable.

Yet such words came from this trialist’s mouth.

What does it mean, to have so much innate energy that it overflows? What kind of thing is that even?

Contemplating for a moment, a wisp of dense earth aura drifted from its body, slowly approaching Xu Ran, this aura was gentle, having no effect on Xu Ran.

This was probing his body.

”Great Success of the Innate Saint’s Sacred Body!” the mysterious creature muttered, continuing its sensing.

”There is more than that!”

That dense aura slowly entered Xu Ran’s body.

As soon as it entered, a wave-like white aura surged towards it.

”Ah!”

The mysterious creature suddenly snapped back, the wisp of aura entering Xu Ran’s body dissipating into nothing!

Hearing the sound, Xu Ran immediately followed it and saw that the colossal figure seemed to be missing something. Upon closer inspection, he noticed part of the mysterious creature’s arm was missing.

However, even with an arm missing, no blood flowed, only countless grains of sand fell to the ground, and soon, sand formed a new arm, identical to the previous one!

”What happened?” Xu Ran was somewhat puzzled.

”What happened?!” the mysterious creature’s voice rose sharply upon hearing Xu Ran, ”You’ve already started cultivating the Immortal Sword Skill? And even forged the first Immortal Sword, and you still ask me what’s wrong?”

The mysterious creature’s roaring voice echoed through the valley, leaving Xu Ran completely puzzled.

”What’s wrong with the Immortal Sword Skill? Is there a problem? Isn’t it just a divine technique reliant on innate energy?”

Xu Ran’s tone was quite innocent!

Hearing this, the mysterious creature felt exasperated, suddenly not even wanting to look at Xu Ran.
