Teen Wolf: Dragon Among Wolves

Chapter 203: Chapter 203: The New Pet

Jacob stood atop the Wall, the wind howling around him, the frozen world stretching in every direction. He focused on the system.

’System,’ he said in his mind, ’do both sign-ins at once.’

Jacob read the rewards.

’High Valyrian,’ he thought. ’That could be useful. Especially if I end up marrying Daenerys. At least I’ll understand her if she ever gets mad at me and starts speaking in High Valyrian.’

He smirked at the thought.

’Jeff the Land Shark,’ he continued. ’That’s a good pet. The girls will love him. He’s adorable, he can heal, and he can grow massive if needed. Perfect.’

’Portable Energy Machine Gun. That’s going to be fun to play with.’

He read the ”I Swear It Was an Accident” ability and thought with a scowl, ’What a disgusting, useless, perverted ability. I don’t want to walk in on any man changing. Even women—I don’t want to walk in on Victoria or Natalie changing. That would just create trouble.’

He addressed the system. ’System, I’m selling it back.’

[You can sell the ”I Swear It Was an Accident” ability back to the system for five million coins, Host. Do you wish to proceed?]

Jacob didn’t hesitate. ’Yes.’

[Transaction complete. Five million coins have been added to your balance.]

He continued reading the rewards.

’I love the Ever-Full Coffee Thermos,’ he thought with a smile.

He looked at the last reward with excitement. ’Now that’s a surprise. With five hundred Enhanced Super-Soldier Serums, I can build a powerful Special Forces unit for my army. But I will only give the serum to loyal men. Maybe I’ll give it to Kai and Ōishi and some selected samurai first. Well, I’ll talk to Chris later and we’ll decide what to do.’

He took the High Valyrian scroll from his pocket dimension. It was ancient parchment, covered in flowing script. He opened it.

The scroll turned into a stream of golden light and sank between his brows. He closed his eyes, feeling the knowledge flow into his mind—grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation, all of it.

When he opened his eyes, he had learned the language completely.

He smirked. ’Nice.’

He teleported back to Serendell.

---

Serendell — Palace

Jacob appeared in the dining room. His wives, Kitty, and Cogman were already there, waiting for him.

Melissa smiled. ”Welcome back.”

Jacob kissed them and sat down, and they had dinner together.

After dinner, Jacob went to Melissa’s room.

They talked about the battle, about the Free Folk, about Shireen.

Then they made love, slow and tender, and fell asleep in each other’s arms.

---

The Next Morning — Palace Gardens

After breakfast, Jacob gathered everyone in the garden in front of the palace.

The morning sun was warm. Flowers bloomed in every color. A light breeze carried the scent of roses.

Jacob pulled out the Summoning Scroll for Jeff the Land Shark.

”Alright,” he said. ”Time to meet the newest member of our family.”

He opened the scroll.

A golden light erupted from the parchment. A space portal swirled open.

Soon, a cute blue head poked out.

Jeff the Land Shark blinked his big, round eyes. His little fin wiggled. His small legs paddled in the air as he tried to climb out of the portal.

Lydia gasped. ”Oh my God. What is that adorable thing?”

Allison, Melissa, Sansa, and Erica said at the same time, ”It’s so cute!”

Jeff finally pulled himself out of the portal. He was about the size of a dog, with four short legs with tiny paws. His tail wagged like a puppy’s.

He looked around at everyone. Then his eyes landed on Jacob.

Jeff trotted over and sat at Jacob’s feet, looking up at him with adoring eyes.

Jacob crouched down and patted Jeff’s head. ”Hey, little guy. Welcome to the family.”

Jeff made a happy chirping sound and licked Jacob’s hand.

Lydia crouched down next to Jacob and reached out. Jeff sniffed her hand, then licked it. Lydia smiled and started petting him.

”So cute,” she said.

Melissa crouched down too. Jeff waddled over to her and nuzzled against her leg. She laughed and rubbed his head.

”He’s like a puppy,” she said. ”A shark puppy.”

Allison, Sansa, Erica, Victoria, Natalie, and Malia joined them, and they all petted Jeff, who wagged his tail happily.

Kitty walked to Jeff. She studied him with narrowed eyes.

Jeff tilted his head. Then he licked her face.

Kitty’s tail puffed up. ”Eww! Shark drool!” But she was smiling.

Stiles looked at Jacob. ”What is that thing? And what can he do?”

Jacob explained Jeff’s abilities—his healing bubbles, his water and ice breath, his endless appetite, his ability to grow massive.

Noah’s eyes widened. ”He can heal people?”

Jacob nodded. ”Yeah. He shoots spheres of water that heal anyone they touch.”

Stiles looked at Jacob. ”Which world is he from?”

Jacob said, ”He’s from the Marvel universe.”

Stiles smirked. ”He’s very popular with the ladies, isn’t he? Aren’t you jealous?”

Jacob watched Jeff happily receiving the girls’ attention and smiled. ”I’m not that insecure, Stiles.”

---

Game of Thrones World — Castle Black

Jacob returned to the Game of Thrones world with Stiles, Allison who had Jeff in her arms, Lydia, Sansa, Malia, and Kitty.

They appeared outside the capsule house near Castle Black.

Arya was sparring with Brienne. Rickon was watching, his eyes wide. Shireen was sitting on the porch of the capsule house, reading a book. Osha was keeping watch nearby.

Jeff wiggled out of Allison’s arms and trotted toward Arya.

Arya stopped mid-swing. She stared at the creature waddling toward her.

”What... what is this?” she asked.

Jeff sat at her feet and looked up at her with his big, adorable eyes.

Arya crouched down. ”Is it a dog? A fish? What is it?”

Jacob walked over. ”That’s Jeff. He’s a Land Shark.”

Arya’s eyes went wide. ”A shark? On land?”

Jeff licked her hand.

Arya’s face melted. ”Oh my God. He’s so cute.”

She scooped Jeff up and hugged him. Jeff made happy chirping sounds and licked her face.

Brienne walked over, staring at Jeff with confusion. ”What a strange creature!”

Jeff looked at her with those big, adorable eyes.

Brienne’s expression softened. ”He is... strangely endearing.”

Jon walked over with Samwell, Edd, Podrick, Davos, and Tormund. They all stared at Jeff.

Davos’s mouth fell open. ”Is that... is that a shark? On land?”

Tormund looked at Jeff, who was happily playing in the snow now. ”I’ve seen a lot of strange things north of the Wall. But this is the strangest.”

Jeff trotted over to Rickon and Shireen.

”Can I touch him?” Shireen asked.

Jacob said, ”Yes. He won’t hurt you.”

Shireen reached out tentatively. Jeff nuzzled her hand. She smiled and started playing with him.

Rickon said, ”Can I keep him?”

Jacob laughed. ”No. But you can play with him.”

Rickon sighed in disappointment and joined Shireen in playing with Jeff.

---

After a while, Jacob took Shireen to Melissa in Serendell.

Melissa greeted her warmly. ”So you’re Shireen. Jacob told me about you.”

Shireen nodded shyly. ”Yes, Your Grace.”

Melissa smiled. ”Come, let’s heal those scars on your face.”

Jacob kissed Melissa. ”Alright, I’ll be leaving now.”

Melissa said, ”Okay, see you tonight.”

Jacob went back to the Game of Thrones world.

---

They set out north of the Wall.

The gate groaned open. The cold wind hit them like a wall. Snow stretched into the distance, endless and white.

Jacob rode his Nightmare Horse, Shadow. Allison, Lydia, Malia, and Sansa rode their Nightmare Horses. Stiles, Brienne, and Arya rode large horses from Serendell. Jon, Samwell, Edd, Davos, Osha, Podrick, and Tormund rode horses from Castle Black. Rickon rode Shaggydog, the direwolf loping alongside the horses. Jon’s direwolf, Ghost, ran beside them, his white fur blending with the snow.

Jeff trotted alongside the group, his stubby legs working hard to keep up. He was tireless, his tongue lolling out of his mouth in a happy grin.

Jacob waved his hand, and a space portal appeared not too far from them. Saphira emerged from it, leaving Serendell for the first time.

Jon and the others—who had never seen Saphira before—were shocked. The beautiful twenty-five-meter-long blue dragon, with a wingspan of fifty-five meters, landed gracefully in the snow. Her scales shimmered like jewels. Her deep blue eyes studied them with curiosity.

Samwell’s jaw dropped. ”A... a dragon?”

Rickon stared, his mouth open. ”Wow... it’s a real dragon.”

Osha grabbed Rickon’s arm, pulling him back. ”Stay behind me, boy.”

Jon’s hand rested on Longclaw’s pommel.

Jacob gave Saphira the mark to enter and leave Serendell freely.

”Go ahead,” he told her. ”Explore a bit if you like.”

Saphira was about to take off when Malia called out. ”Saphira! Wait! Take me with you!”

Saphira looked at her, then nodded. Malia climbed onto her back, Kitty perched on Malia’s shoulder, and Saphira launched into the sky.

They flew north, disappearing into the clouds.

---

Jacob and the rest traveled through the haunted forest—a sea of white and grey, the trees skeletal and silent. The snow was deep, but the horses and wolves plowed through it easily.

Jacob looked at Samwell. ”Sam. You said you’ve seen a White Walker before.”

Samwell’s face paled. ”Yes. At the Fist of the First Men. I got separated from Grenn and Edd during a blizzard. I hid behind a rock.”

He swallowed and continued. ”The army of the dead marched past me. Thousands of them. And one White Walker rode right up to me. Looked me in the eyes with his blue eyes.”

Lydia asked, ”And why are you still alive?”

Samwell shook his head. ”I don’t know why. He just... looked at me. And rode away.”

Stiles smirked. ”I guess the army of the dead have better athletic standards for recruitment than the Night’s Watch does.”

Jacob laughed. ”Yeah. I bet the White Walker looked at Sam, then looked at his army of already slow skeletons, and thought, ’Nah, he’d just slow down the zombie apocalypse. We’re on a schedule.’”

Stiles laughed out loud, then said, ”And you said the wights can’t swim, right? So maybe the White Walker was about to turn Sam into a zombie, but then he thought, ’We march on frozen lakes and thin snow. One heavy-footed Sam stomping along would turn the entire army procession into a mass drowning. Hard pass.’”

Everyone burst out laughing.

Samwell’s face turned red. ”Hey! That’s not true! I mean, they have giants in their army!”

Stiles wiped tears from his eyes. ”Yeah, sure, buddy.”

Samwell cleared his throat. ”Anyway, I also killed a White Walker before.”

Lydia raised an eyebrow. ”You? You killed a White Walker?”

Sam nodded. ”Yes. When I was fleeing south with Gilly and her baby, we took shelter in an abandoned hut. A White Walker tracked us down to steal the baby. I tried to fight with a normal sword, but he shattered the steel instantly.”

Stiles leaned in. ”And then?”

Sam’s voice was proud. ”In a desperate scramble, I sneaked up from behind and stabbed the Walker in the back with a dagger made of dragonglass that I had found earlier. The creature froze over and shattered into pieces of ice.”

Stiles grinned. ”So you took your revenge on him for thinking you were too fat to join their army.”

Everyone laughed again.

Samwell sighed. ”No, I did it to protect the baby.”

They kept riding, following Jacob’s compass toward Bran’s location.

---

Four Hours Later

Jacob heard Saphira’s excited voice in his head.

[Jay! We’re coming back! And we’re bringing a gift for you that you will love very much!]

Jacob replied telepathically, ’What gift?’

Saphira said, [You will see it soon!]

Jacob stopped his horse. He focused on his connection with Saphira and looked to the northeast, where he felt her presence.

Allison asked, ”Why did you stop?”

Jacob said, ”Saphira says they’re coming back. And she’s bringing a gift.”

Lydia asked, ”What kind of gift?”

Jacob shrugged. ”She didn’t tell me. But I can feel that she’s excited.”

Stiles looked around. ”What do you think it is?”

Jacob said, ”Maybe they caught a mammoth or something.”

Stiles’s eyes lit up. ”A mammoth? Are mammoths still alive in this world?”

Jacob said, ”Yes.”

Jon said, ”I’ve seen them before.”

Tormund said, ”The giants herd and train them.”

Stiles said, ”Giants? I can’t wait to see them.”

Tormund sighed. ”Sadly, there’s only one giant left among the Free Folk now. The rest are gone.”

Jacob said, ”Maybe there are more of them living in the far north. I’ll look for them and ask them to join my kingdom.”

Tormund’s brow furrowed. ”It was hard for Mance to convince them to join the Free Folk. But with your strength, I think it would be easy for you—if you find them, that is.”

Jacob looked up. ”They’re here. And they really brought a surprise for me.”

Stiles followed his gaze into the empty sky. ”Where? I don’t see Saphira.”

Jacob said, ”They’re above the clouds.”

As if on cue, Saphira burst through the clouds.

Behind her, a massive black shape followed.

It was enormous. A wyvern with a total body length of 500 feet (152 meters) from the tip of its snout to the end of its tail. Wingspan of 810 feet (246 meters). Its scales were black as coal. Its eyes were green like emeralds.

It was trying to eat Saphira.

But she was faster.

The wyvern’s jaws snapped shut inches from her tail. Saphira rolled, banked, and dove, the wyvern following close behind.

Everyone stared in shock.

Jacob’s eyes gleamed with excitement. ”What a magnificent beast.”

Stiles’s jaw dropped. ”What is that thing? It’s ginormous!”

Jacob grinned. ”That’s my new ride.”

Samwell stammered, ”It’s... another d-dragon!”

Allison looked at Jacob. ”Didn’t you say only three are still alive? And they’re young?”

Jacob shrugged. ”I didn’t know about this one. But the world is so big, I guess even something this big can stay hidden.”

Sansa’s voice was worried. ”Is Saphira, Malia, and Kitty going to be okay? That thing is trying to eat them!”

Jacob shook his head. ”It can’t harm them.”

Suddenly, Saphira dove. The wyvern followed.

When they were close to the ground, Saphira sped up and shot higher. She appeared above the giant wyvern and unleashed her fire breath—a cone of blue flame that struck the wyvern’s back.

The wyvern roared in pain, tumbled through the air, and crashed to the ground. It gouged a massive trench in the snow.

Saphira circled once, then flew back to Jacob and landed behind the group.

Malia jumped from Saphira’s back and landed on her Nightmare Horse. Kitty was still on her shoulder.

Malia looked at Jacob with a grin. ”What do you think of the gift we brought you?”

Jacob stared at the downed wyvern, his eyes bright with excitement.

”I love it,” he said. ”Very much.”
