My Silly, Sweet Wife

”What’s going on?”

”What happened inside?”

”Quick, let’s move, the Sword Heart must have had an issue.”

As Feng Qiansui and Feng Jiuling were headed toward the Sword Heart Land, they felt the ground shaking and heard the sound of a collapse. They exchanged a glance, both seeing shock in each other’s eyes.

The Sword Heart Land, named so according to the first-generation villa master’s explanation, was set with an array he arranged to nurture an ancient sword.

The Sword Heart Land is the heart of the sword. Once the sword heart matures, the sword can emerge, and Wan Jian Villa can truly live up to its name.

However, as future generations declined, no one from Wan Jian Villa was able to pull out the Dragon Sword, and this legend slowly faded into mere talk.

Especially now, the array mentioned by the first ancestor no longer exists.

Yet, since this is Wan Jian Villa’s vital place, any issue would be like taking apart the villa’s plaque.

Although they didn’t know what happened inside, this matter pertained to the entire villa’s fate.

If it collapses, Wan Jian Villa’s luck might also crumble, and then disaster would undoubtedly follow.

At the Sword Heart Land.

Ye Guichen didn’t expect the platform to collapse.

As the platform collapsed, Ye Guichen unexpectedly sensed a heart pounding like a drum, though muffled, his current spiritual sense easily captured it.

”What is this thing?”

Ye Guichen was startled.

Meishan Ancestor seized the opportunity, suddenly darting toward the collapse’s center, crazily laughing aloud: ”Haha, as far as I know, the Sword Heart Land is Wan Jian Villa’s most mysterious place and also where the first villa master rose. After the villa master died, he was buried here, cultivating the sword heart with his body. If I’m correct, there must be some treasure hidden here! Haha, haha, never expected that today it would come into my possession.”

In the blink of an eye, Meishan Ancestor had already entered the collapsed area.

Ye Guichen paused, though not completely understanding, sensing something must be below, and without thinking further, he followed suit.

Sure enough, a passage downward appeared at the collapsed site.

The passage wasn’t long, but the pounding sound was emanating from below.

Ye Guichen directly jumped down.

Before long, an open space appeared ahead.

A thin film enveloped the area, and within the film, the dim outline of a sword seemed visible.

The sound was coming from the film.

It felt like a mammal’s placenta, as if it were nurturing some life within.

”This...” Ye Guichen had never witnessed such a spectacular scene.

The allure of the thing within the film was strong, Ye Guichen’s expression briefly lost focus, just about to walk toward the film, but a powerful force held back his action.

Ye Guichen’s mind jolted, stopping immediately, awakening as though from a dream.

The sensation just felt, resembled utmost entrancement.

Could it be emitted by that thing?

Ye Guichen turned his gaze toward Meishan Ancestor not far away.

Meishan Ancestor appeared in a frenzy, delighted: ”Sword Heart, is this the Sword Heart? It’s said back in the day the first villa master of Wan Jian Villa was a Sword Casting Master. He comprehended Sword Dao through crafting swords, and once started, couldn’t stop. Yet, even with his genius, he never forged a satisfactory sword, merely wielded the Dragon Sword across the realm, unmatched.”

”However, despite that, he remained greatly disappointed. At last, at the brink of death, he vowed to forge a sword with his body, infusing all his cultivation into it, aiming to create the world’s greatest sword. Haha, could this sword be the legendary Eight Desolate Sword?”

As he spoke, Meishan Ancestor moved toward the film.

But Ye Guichen clearly felt Meishan Ancestor’s mentality becoming unsound.

His response seemed bewitched by some mysterious force.

Just then, Ye Guichen heard a noise from behind.

Turning to look, he saw Feng Jiuling and Feng Qiansui hurriedly rushing over.

”Mr. Ye, what exactly happened?” Ignoring greetings to Ye Guichen, Feng Qiansui asked upon seeing the film and the sword encased within.

Ye Guichen, unclear himself, recounted the events.

After hearing the recount, Feng Qiansui’s pupils contracted, incredulous toward the sword resembling a placenta: ”Could this truly be the Eight Desolate Sword?”

”Old man, do you know this sword?” Clearly unfamiliar with prior events, Feng Jiuling peculiarly asked when hearing Feng Qiansui name the sword.

Feng Qiansui furrowed his brows, nodding: ”Exactly, this is what the ancestor last said upon entering the Sword Heart Land. Since then, he never returned. Yet, at the time, he claimed he would forge the world’s greatest sword, capable of sweeping across the Eight Desolate regions, named the Eight Desolate Sword.”

”But later, the old man never returned, and the succeeding villa master only found the will left by him, saying he had departed, while the Eight Desolate Sword would one day reappear.”

”Yet, as time passed, no one witnessed any Eight Desolate Sword, and descendants gradually treated this tale as a joke, none taking it seriously. Now it seems, it truly exists!”

Hearing this, Feng Jiuling’s eyes widened, murmuring to himself in awe.

”Using one’s body to refine the sword, the Sword Heart Land, is actually nurturing a sword?”

If it weren’t for seeing it with my own eyes, saying it out loud would make people think I’m mad.

”Sir, what... what should we do now?” Feng Jiuling asked tremblingly.

Feng Qiansui said gravely, ”Judging by the current situation, this sword seems to be nearing maturity. Once matured, only our Feng Family can wield it, so there’s nothing to worry about on that front. However, according to our ancestors, because this sword is too violent, once it emerges, it will need to kill ten thousand people to sacrifice itself. By then, anyone outside our Feng clan...”

”What?”

Feng Jiuling was so frightened by these words that he almost fell down.

Ten thousand people to sacrifice for the sword.

This is too terrifying, isn’t it?

The Wan Jian Villa doesn’t even have ten thousand people; doesn’t it mean we must slaughter within a radius of several tens of miles?

By then, even if they obtain this sword, what would become of Wan Jian Villa?

They would be no better than the evil cult of the Yin Ghost Sect, perhaps even worse?

Feng Qiansui stared intently at the sword emitting a sound like a heartbeat, his entire body tense: ”There is another way. If we don’t want this sword to slaughter ten thousand people, we can use the blood of a skilled Feng family member to pacify it, accompany it, and put it into slumber once more.”

Hearing this, Feng Jiuling turned abruptly, looking at Feng Qiansui with determination in his eyes, and instantly guessed Feng Qiansui’s intention: ”Sir, you...”

”No need to say more.” Feng Qiansui waved his hand to stop Feng Jiuling from speaking: ”I should already be dead; surviving these many years has been challenging. If this sword comes out, it can indeed lead our Wan Jian Villa to dominate an era, but it will also bring devastation. This was never the original intent of our ancestors. Since our ancestor sacrificed himself for the sword, as a descendant, how could I not do the same?”

”Sir, even if you can pacify it, how long can you do so?” Feng Jiuling was so anxious, running in circles, yet unable to do anything.

Hearing this, Feng Qiansui’s expression darkened, murmuring, ”Indeed, how long can I pacify it?”

But with a change of thought, he became resolute: ”Ten years shall suffice. By then...”

At this point, Feng Qiansui suddenly turned and kneeled on one knee towards Ye Guichen: ”Mr. Ye, in ten years, you will certainly be able to suppress this sword with your strength. At that time, I hope you can help us Wan Jian Villa to subdue this Eight Desolate Sword!”

”Me?” Ye Guichen understood Feng Qiansui’s meaning.

He was using his life to pacify the Eight Desolate Sword, exchanging it for the lives of ten thousand people.

Giving himself ten years, allowing himself to significantly increase his cultivation, to come here and completely refine this Eight Desolate Sword, eradicating its violent nature.

”This sword seems to have developed its own spirit, capable of killing on its own, almost akin to the legendary Immortal Artifact. Do you really believe that in ten years, I can refine this sword?” Ye Guichen smiled wryly.

If it weren’t for swallowing the Ghost Pill, his soul’s power now would nowhere compare to before; he might have been enthralled earlier, harboring endless greed for the Eight Desolate Sword.

However, the shock from the depths of his soul made Ye Guichen understand that this sword is likely no inferior to the swords in his own sword grave.

Yet, in contrast, the swords in his sword grave, because of their previous owners’ demise, have their consciousness sealed, and his current cultivation cannot unleash those swords’ formidable power.

But the sword before him is entirely different.

This is a sword imbued with the intense conquest consciousness of its maker.

Upon maturity, it desires to kill ten thousand people.

This attests to the ambition and aspirations of the first villa master of Wan Jian Villa.

Yet, even so, can I accomplish it in ten years?

To truly subdue this sword, one might indeed need to become an Immortal?

”Ah...”

Suddenly, a harrowing scream echoed.

Ye Guichen and the others quickly looked towards the sword’s embryo.

They saw the thin membrane attaching itself to the Meishan Ancestor, gradually swallowing him.

Once swallowed, the Meishan Ancestor turned into a pool of blood and quickly dissipated.

The heartbeat-like thumping sound became increasingly strong and powerful.

”It’s too late, this Eight Desolate Sword has matured. It’s tasted the flavor of living people, it’ll likely go on its own to kill. If it emerges from the sword embryo, we will never be able to stop it!”

Feng Qiansui cupped his hands once more towards Ye Guichen: ”Mr. Ye, I entrust Wan Jian Villa to you in the future, please!”

With that, without saying more, he suddenly leapt, directly plunging into the thin membrane.

”Sir...” Feng Jiuling shouted, but he could not stop anything.

Ye Guichen wanted to intervene, but his natural wariness also made him understand, if Feng Qiansui did not pacify that sword, indeed thousands could die because of it.

”Bang!”

”Bang!”

”Bang!”

Curiously enough, just after Feng Qiansui crashed into the membrane, the heart beating sound slowed down, and if not listened to carefully, it could not be heard at all.
