Reborn In The 90's: Saving My Siblings With A Fishing System

Chapter 237: Leeches(Chapter Fixed)

”Let’s go,” said Han Ruochen, after taking a glance at the sea scanning system. They had collected most of the rare seafood in this area, and there was no point in lingering any longer.

”Should we stay a little bit longer?” Tong Zhaodi asked while looking at Han Ruochen with a hint of hesitation on her face. She was worried that if they returned so soon, the people at the docks would start clamouring about taking their boat again.

Han Ruochen noticed her expression and knew what the woman was thinking. She said to her with a smile, ”Even if we return late, nothing will change. At most, there will be fewer people to mock us, but that will be all.” She was not going to show off her wealth in front of others this time around, either, which meant that they were definitely going to make jokes on her account. So it did not matter if she were to return to the docks later in the evening.

Tong Zhaodi sensed that there was indeed some truth in her words and pursed her lips in a thin line. Indeed, they could now show off in front of others, so even if they were to return late, the men at the docks would definitely mock them. Since they were going to be mocked either way, what was the point of wasting time here in the dangerous sea?

She nodded, and Han Ruochen steered the boat back to the docks. Neither of them spoke, as the two of them were lost in their own thoughts. Tong Zhaodi was worried that the Emerald Pavilion wouldn’t have the kind of money that could buy these fish, while Han Ruochen was thinking about how to take so many fish out of the motorboat without making anyone suspicious. She had caught three hundred kilograms of golden threadfin bream; it would definitely occupy more than thirty boxes, plus the bluefin tuna. They would take four big boxes as well.

This was a particularly big load, and she was worried that the men at the docks would get suspicious. However, even if Han Ruochen wanted to hide the truth, she knew that it was not going to be easy. After all, she could not stuff such good things haphazardly. In the end, she decided to just grit her teeth and go with the flow!

It did not take long for Han Ruochen to return to the docks, and sure enough, as she had expected, countless men were waiting for her to return. She knew that if these men wanted to, they could have gone to do their own jobs, but they were waiting for her because they wanted to laugh at her expense. Han Ruochen sighed. There was nothing more joyful than making fun of others, wasn’t it?

Sure enough, as soon as Han Ruochen descended from the motorboat and climbed up on the docks, Brother Wang came looking for her with a jeer on his face. He looked at the boxes that were shut and mocked Han Ruochen. ”What’s the matter? What are you hiding inside those boxes? A bunch of seaweed?”

As soon as he finished speaking, the men behind him started to laugh. Though they had accepted a woman going to the sea, they were nowhere close to accepting that Han Ruochen was skilled enough to fight with them. Did this woman think that just buying a boat was enough? No way! What she needed was more than that. She needed to learn how to read the scale on the compass, and she needed the skill to find the correct spot to fish. There was no way a woman half their age was as skilled as they were.

One of the men mocked Han Ruochen and said to her jokingly, ”Ruochen, you should think of something else. Fishing is not everyone’s cup of tea, and from the looks of it, it is certainly not your cup of tea. Why don’t you sell this boat and come up with something else? I think looking for seafood on the shore is still an option for you. Don’t you think so?”

”That’s right, Han Ruochen. There is no need to be embarrassed. After all, you are a woman, and women are not skilled when it comes to fishing; just stick to your guns, and everything will be fine. There is nothing wrong with doing what you can do; after all, what is the point of going to the sea if you are not going to catch anything?” one of the men jeered; his eyes had been attached to the motorboat that Han Ruochen had bought ever since it arrived at the docks.

He could not buy a new motorboat, so he was hoping that Han Ruochen would let him buy a second-hand boat.

Since he was eyeing the boat, he could not help but pour cold water on Han Ruochen’s enthusiasm in the hope that she would sell the boat as soon as possible. Because the longer she would sell it, the more damaged it would become. It would be better if this woman woke up quickly and then sold it as soon as possible. That way, he would be able to become the owner of a brand new boat as soon as possible!

The man was already dreaming of becoming the new boat owner, but just because he was dreaming of becoming one did not mean that Han Ruochen was going to let him become the owner of her boat. She simply smiled at the men and said, ”You all don’t need to worry, even if I take this boat to the sea, because I want to have fun; there is nothing that you can say about it because it is mine.”

As soon as she finished speaking, the men who were eyeing her boat were outraged. They all looked at Han Ruochen as if she had uttered some curse words; one of them even spoke up in an unkind voice, ”Han Ruochen, don’t be ungrateful. We are not trying to harm you; if anything, we are looking out for you, as we are your elders. Why are you being so stubborn?”

”If you were truly looking out for me, then I would have definitely listened to you, but you are not looking out for me. You are trying to get as many benefits as possible from me, such that you can use them for your own good! Don’t think that I don’t know what you are trying to do; you want me to sell this boat such that you can buy it for a lower price, isn’t that right?” Han Ruochen sneered coldly. She had listened to such words countless times. In her past life, there were a lot of people who kept telling her that they were doing it for her own good. But in truth, they were just trying to use her.

One of them was her good mother. So there was no way these people could use such words against her.

”You—”

Han Ruochen simply tilted her head to one side and questioned in an innocent tone, ”What? What do you want to say? Do you want to say that I am wrong? Isn’t that what is going on in your minds? You want me to sell this boat at half price so that you can buy it. But you know what?” Han Ruochen sneered coldly. ”Even if you all pool up your money, you won’t be able to buy the boat even at half the price.”

After she finished speaking, she turned on her heels and walked away without saying anything; her second uncle was already waiting for her at the end of the docks and looked worried.

”That—that girl!” one of the men could not help but scold Han Ruochen for being too annoying and stubborn. Did she really think that she could make it big just because she had a boat?

She was a fool if that was what she thought.

On the other side, Second Uncle Han was worried as well, but he was worried for other reasons. He looked at Han Ruochen and then said to her, ”Is this okay? If you rip their faces off like that, then they will certainly lose their temper with you. You all work in the same field; there is no need for you to lose your temper with them like that.”

”Do you think they will treat me better if I am respectful to them? Of course not; they will certainly think that I am easy to bully and would do everything in their power to suppress me. I don’t want that to happen, so it is better that I deal with them before they start dancing on my head.” Han Ruochen did not think that there was anything wrong with what she did. What’s more, there was nothing wrong with ripping the last bit of cordiality. After all, these people were nothing but leeches, who were looking forward to watching her lose.
