Eternal Tale

Motherfucker, you ungrateful brat.

Chen Xun cursed under his breath on the main road, thinking about how you dared to leave the Five Aggregates Sect with your father. How could you come up with such an idea?

The yellow sands stretched endlessly in all directions.

A Er’s eyes widened like copper bells as he gently caught the flying Xiao Wuhen. The Dao Ancestor really used his strength. If this kid’s body weren’t so tough, he might have been kicked to pieces.

”Hehe, Uncle Taigu.” Xiao Wuhen looked up and chuckled, not feeling much pain.

Roar~

A Er nodded lightly below, thinking it best not to anger your father again. Now the Five Aggregates Sect has the Thunder Punishment Heavenly Pool, the Hellfire Burning Sea, the Reincarnation Annihilation Realm, the Ominous Immortal Realm, and the Immortal Hidden Return to the Void...

If the old man ever loses his mind, you might end up being sent there.

Thinking of this, A Er couldn’t help but shiver. The Five Aggregates Sect is now undoubtedly one of the immortal sects in the vast Wild Heaven Region, boasting two immortals in one sect!

Apart from those ancient great powers and great clans, and the dormant longevity families, no one can suppress them.If Senior Black Bull from Taigu becomes an immortal, the elders in my clan would surely come to congratulate us. Three immortals in one sect, how incredible.

Half an hour later.

Chen Xun dragged Xiao Wuhen away, the latter screaming incessantly, all thoughts completely snuffed out. He thought to himself, ”I am willing to farm for the immortal sect, born here, and my soul belongs here, father!”

Just before leaving, Chen Xun casually gave A Er a good fruit to eat. Since Tai Yu and the others haven’t returned yet, guarding the mountain gate is quite lonely, so eating some fruit might help pass the time.

A Er’s eyes sparkled with excitement. This is good stuff!

He let out a low growl towards Dao Ancestor Chen Xun, thinking to himself that whoever said the Dao Ancestor doesn’t pay wages is wrong. Xiao Wuhen is still too young; cultivators and spirit beasts from outside would fight tooth and nail to get in.

Once, their second uncle from afar came to look at them from a distance, eyes filled with envy, realizing they didn’t have to exert any effort... Just sitting there was enough, the ancient beasts of Taigu knew what they were doing!

But now, they no longer accept outsiders. Those who didn’t board this big ship back then now regret it too late, leaving only a lonely back for A Er to see, as second uncle took the first step...

Every time A Er thought of this, he could only sigh softly. The Dao Ancestor said that now is a special period, and in a few thousand years, when the Five Aggregates Sect completely hides from the world, they can bring some relatives over.

By then, even a dog or a chicken from the family could be brought to the Jade Bamboo Range to retire, no problem.

This is the Dao Ancestor’s immortal words. Otherwise, what’s the point of cultivating immortality for so many years if not to live more comfortably and let your loved ones and descendants live well?

Of course, this is Chen Xun’s own belief in the path of longevity and immortality, which he never claims to represent the paths of the billions of races and immortal path powerhouses in the Three Thousand Great Worlds, nor does he spread it.

Thinking of this, A Er chuckled to himself, wondering if his distant second uncle could live to see that day, but he was sure he could, hehe!

...

When Chen Xun and Xiao Wuhen rode their shabby cart back to the sect, it immediately caused quite a stir, making the once quiet paths lively.

Chen Xun never took Xiao Wuhen on the sect’s wide main roads or teleportation arrays, fearing his small worldview couldn’t handle it all at once, preferring a gradual approach.

The Five Aggregates Sect is now quite the nouveau riche, with an air of wealth so thick that even the ancient-style buildings can’t compare to the Mo family of the Southern Yu Continent.

This is one reason Ancestor Chen Xun doesn’t want to open the mountain gate wide. Compared to the forces in the Wild Heaven Region that have been around for hundreds of thousands of years, his sect still needs time to accumulate and settle.

He aims to build a truly time-rich Five Aggregates Immortal Sect, so others won’t internally mock, ”Heh, Ancestor Chen Xun, tell us, which force or great clan did you rob this time?”

”Your immortal sect’s foundation looks so illegitimate, our younger disciples should avoid associating too much, lest they learn some improper immortal techniques.”

Though Chen Xun doesn’t care much about these words, the older generation must consider the younger ones, not wanting them to be unable to hold their heads high when they venture out.

Their longevity means the Five Aggregates Sect will follow him and Bull into longevity, with slow and steady progress being the right path.

At this moment, Xiao Wuhen joyfully called out to his thousands of relatives, his smile bright, and the small episode with Han Xuan was completely erased from his heart, washed away by the enthusiastic greetings of his relatives.

Family is still the best... being with family is the best.

The thought of leaving the sect was just a whim, something that couldn’t be taken seriously!

Frog Daoist brought White Spirit along, squinting at Chen Xun’s little wooden cart, finding it somewhat intriguing...

But Xiao Wuhen’s gaze at him was a bit odd, making Frog Daoist frown, ”What kind of look is that?!”

He didn’t know what strange things Xiao Wuhen was thinking at the moment. If he knew, he’d be furious, because Xiao Wuhen was wondering why Uncle Frog wasn’t croaking...

Disciples from all sides secretly observed their ancestor’s wooden cart, thinking it seemed quite convenient, not needing any spirit stones, just some physical strength and blood energy. Maybe they’d make one themselves someday!

After all, the Five Aggregates Sect hasn’t really distributed any spirit stone resources, and the salaries for peak masters and elders are all in arrears...

They are truly self-sufficient now, planting spiritual fields, refining pills, and being self-sufficient. One of the sect’s compulsory courses is planting spiritual herbs, a vast field of knowledge.

There are no preaching elders or anything like that, and Tai Yu, who doesn’t even recognize a single character, is supposed to preach? Even teaching great spells is a struggle.

Currently, the disciples’ cultivation in the sect relies entirely on the insights written down by the ancestor along his journey. Although life is a bit tough, they live quite freely, not caring about these details.

But the sect’s spiritual qi is vast, the land is blessed, and there are many blessed lands. Even without ’paying wages,’ they can continue cultivating, always smiling, and engaging in friendly competitions within the sect.

On the mountain road, Chen Xun pedaled the wooden cart for several years...

Completely disregarding time, but Xiao Wuhen enjoyed it, chatting with his relatives about everything under the sun, sharing his experiences of the past century.

He never mentioned any grievances with Han Xuan and others, having a big heart and not caring about such trivial matters.

By evening.

They finally returned home. Looking at the familiar thatched cottage, Xiao Wuhen felt a sense of grounding, staring at it for a long time, as if something inexplicable had struck him.

”Father...”

”Hmm?”

”Home is still the best. Not getting paid is okay, at least the immortal sect gave us a place to stay.” Xiao Wuhen spoke with utmost seriousness, his eyes showing a maturity that had grown immensely.

”Of course.” Chen Xun changed his clothes and responded calmly, ”Son, if you’ve thought through the path of cultivating immortality, tell your father. I have some connections and can get you into a small sect to cultivate.”

”Really?! Father!” Xiao Wuhen exclaimed with surprise, not expecting his father to have such connections...

He secretly swallowed a mouthful of saliva, his father’s image growing even taller in his heart. If he ever succeeded in cultivating immortality, he would definitely take his father flying through the skies first!

His pursuit of immortality wasn’t to prove his strength or to become invincible, as his father would say, ”Son, think about it, isn’t that a bit crazy?”

Cultivating immortality is to witness the majestic landscapes you’ve never seen, and spells are to explore the mysteries of the world, to broaden your mind, and to understand the profoundness of the Dao, to settle the unrest in your heart.

This is the true path of cultivating immortality. Even if one’s spiritual roots and talents are lacking, sitting in meditation among the green mountains, one is still worthy of the title of an immortal. Son, this is the true cultivation...

It’s also the path of immortality your father most yearns for. There is no longevity in this world, so don’t yearn for it, and don’t fear the return to the burial grounds, for your father is still here!

These are thoughts your father couldn’t achieve, only able to pass on some unrealistic experiences to you. But your father would never harm you, always remember the exhilarating feeling of learning your first small spell... Remember it!

This is your initial aspiration for cultivating immortality, and it’s also your yearning before stepping into the path of immortality. That is enough.
