The Golem Mage

Although Alec possessed strong tactical awareness, yet; he had deliberately stepped back to give his new heroes an opportunity to prove themselves, as he wanted to see if they could lead the city’s defense in his absence.

His focus remained primarily on the two figures who had stayed behind, even from his position, he could sense that both of them were Tier 8 lifeforms.

The Tier of opponents he faced seemed to grow stronger with every passing moment, this reality is what had heightened his desire for rapid strength growth in recent days; without it, he knew that his domain risked destruction at the hands of those who converted it as a bridge straight into the human controlled domains.

The more he pondered about it, the more he sensed that what little peace he had was about to be shattered, though true peace had never really existed for him since his arrival in the Origin Realm,

Still he had felt that whoever initiated this state of turmoil intended to plunge the entire Origin realm into perpetual conflict, especially given the shift in available features that wasn’t possible before, like being able to relocate cities that had been captured, and getting free origin crystals as a reward grom the world will from attacking regions that is dominated by other races.

Standing atop the city gate, he attempted to keep portion of his attention trained on the impending battle while simultaneously reviewing the new benefits gained from merging the Blood Moon Realm with the Origin Realm.

Out on the battlefield, the cavalry unit’s morale soared, boosted by Unbreakable who was spearheading the front line.

The weretigers and a bearmens also had two lieutenants leading their charge, however they both struggled to comprehend just how a new lord who had arrived in the realm not up to even half a year had been able to develop so rapidly.

His power is rumored to rival that of a veteran level 2 city lord who had accumulated their strength over countless years, in fact they were sure that if he came and claimed that he was an old lord that was pretending to start again, no one would question it, they would believe it more, than to believe that a new lord had reached such sage in a very short period of time.

It was just too much of a terrifying realization to them, the forces of the Beast Forest extended beyond just the Werewolf King, although the Werewolf King was the only sole figure to have wage war against the King of the Wilderness, the representative of the human race, however he had suffer defeat, it was with luck and his race greate regeneration powers that he had managed to escape with his life intact.

At the time of that legendary clash, the Wilderness King, as the beastkins called him, had not even ascended to kingship; back then he was merely one among many rising human great lords.

However, following that defeat, none of the beastkin dared advance toward the Wilderness Region again because Lupus was among the peak strength of the bequest forest region.

It was only after it was said that the king sustained injuries from an unknown source that he ceased expanding his territory, normally they didn’t want to believe it but after that rumors he never made waves again.

The Wilderness King, who had once struck terror into their hearts, now became known instead as a sulking ruler, even as his domain deteriorated, he made no moves of his own; whenever an issue arose, one of his three remaining great lords were the ones who always stepped in to handle it.

Following his injury, the beastkin’s suppressed ambition to claim human territory resurfaced, and now under the present circumstances, where conflict was actively incentivized and backed by the newly separated world wills, they saw no better opportunity to launch an invasion.

They even urged Lupus to dispatch another general to lead a retaliatory strike against the new human lord that had taken the city near them.

Surprisingly, Lupus refused, a decision that caught them off guard, as they had assumed he would be the most eager to mobilize an army.

Lupus had long set his sights on that strategic plot of land, through careful scheming, he had even assisted the orcs in placing one of their lesser lords there, hoping the lord would eventually grow strong enough to become a major nuisance.

He had envisioned this spark he planned would lead to inciting a full-scale war, which would lead to the fall of the Wilderness King’s realm and would secure a direct path for him into the human domains.

Yet, less than a month after Alec established his foothold, that very orc lord was effortlessly slain, such decisive, formidable strength immediately brought to his mind a younger image of the Wilderness King.

However, Lupus quickly brushed the thought aside, confident that no other human could ever match the Wilderness Lord.

Now, after seeing Alec endure endless onslaughts and survive against all odds, Lupus was beginning to suspect that the youth bore the destiny of a king.

Much like the Wilderness King before him, who had seemed poised to grow powerful enough to crush anyone who dared stand in his way.

Though what he desired most was to eliminate Alec, however he wasn’t interested in delegating the task to anyone else.

He was determined to slay Alec personally, because he believed that only by killing someone bearing the fate of a king himself would that royal destiny pass onto him.

Though he proclaimed himself a king, yet he possessed no true kingdom; he merely controlled this domain alongside other beastkins to survive.

Though until he was sure that the Wilderness King was fully occupied with someone of equal strength in battle, he had no intention of setting foot in the Wilderness Region. Many spread rumors that he had become a useless wastrel, a shadow of the genius he once was.

Yet Lupus was the one who had actually faced him in battle, the long scar stretching across his chest served as a grim reminder of the Wilderness King’s terrifying power.

That day he made a solemn vow that he would never step into that territory again while the Wilderness King still lived, and it was the sole reason he had waited so patiently.

Only when he was certain the Wilderness King was embroiled in severe conflict would he finally make his move into the region.

All of this was past history now, if Alec realized that the land he currently occupied was the very starting point of the ruler he was under, he would be even more startled and question the Wilderness King’s motives in putting the domain of such sentiment in his hands, especially since it was the area most heavily plagued by invasions.
