The Golem Mage

Although Zenith was merely a Wyvern and not a true dragon, however; the words Alec just spoke to it were High Valyrian for ’Spit Fire’.

And it did not hold back in the slightest as it unleashed its variant golden flames towards those before them. Meanwhile, the four human Tier 8 realm lords scrambled to raise their hands to cast defensive spells.

They had been caught completely off guard, never expecting a Wyvern to breathe fire since it wasn’t a dragon, leaving them at a severe disadvantage in this opening round, however this precise was the outcome Alec had been aiming for, as the flames ended up not getting to them, it just spread towards them covering their vision as Alec made a move.

While this was a technique Saint had created, Alec was fully capable of replicating it because any ability his golems possessed, he could also imitate and execute them, just not as good.

In this particular scenario, however, he was not using the sword skill to target his enemies.

Instead, he intended to tear open a separate pocket dimension and force everyone into it, as he refused to fight in a region populated by so many humans.

He believed that many residents would be completely unable to shield themselves from the devastating shockwaves once the battle truly commenced.

Gently drawing his sword high from its scabbard, a brilliant flash of sword light sliced through the cone of golden flames ahead, instantly creating a massive rift in the sky. Immediately, the other four individuals began to feel a powerful spatial pull drawing them into the void.

By the time the flames disappeared they realised that Alec and his Golden Wyvern were nowhere to be found but their aura was coming from inside the rift that had been just opened in the skies.

The realm lords well understood the implications of combat within an isolated pocket of space; it is a high-level technique typically reserved for Tier 9 mages.

Though perplexed by Alec’s apparent concern for their own city’s residents, they ceased resisting the overwhelming spatial pull and allowed themselves to be drawn into the fractured rift.

Like an inescapable black hole, the vortex swallowed all four of them before snapping shut, wiping away any trace that they had ever been standing there.

Their powerful auras vanished completely, leaving the jagged fracture line that suspended stubbornly in midair as the only sole evidence that they had been there a few seconds ago.

They emerged into a vast, darkened expanse that resembled a glass world reflecting the physical realm. In fact, it perfectly mirrored the exact area they had just departed.

“I see you have picked the right place for you to die, as no one would ever be able to access your body” Dave taunted, breaking the silence.

Dual-wielding a long sword and a short sword, he stood at the forefront, flanked by Rhen on his left and Flint on his right. Behind them, David summoned a magic staff and waited in the rear.

“Come out,” Alec commanded. Unlike before, he wasted no words on banter, showing no interest in further conversation. His sole objective now was to bring this confrontation to a swift end.

As soon as he spoke, two spatial portals materialized behind him, from these gateways, Hive Queen and Butcher stepped forward.

Seeing that Alec could still summon golems even within this isolated space, the expressions of their opponents shifted once more.

However, after a few tense moments passed without any additional summons appearing, they managed to calm their nerves.

They reasoned that if Alec could summon his entire army of Golems, then they would have been facing an insurmountable threat far greater than Alec himself.

Yet, when Dave and David inspected the two newly arrived golems, they realized these were not among the specific Golems Liam had warned them to watch out for.

However what truly unsettled them, was based on their past experiences attempting to invade and conquer cities within Alec’s territory, they had now grown to be cautious of every single one of his golems, treating each as having almost equal power.

While the specific golems Liam mentioned seems to be a bit more powerful than the rest, they knew the bulk of Alec’s golems were currently tied down in the ongoing battle elsewhere.

At this realization, they began to regret their poorly planned strategy to attack alec so soon with so little allies, as they started to think that if Alec had simply waited for the city’s defenses battle to end before arriving to their domain with his entire arsenal of golems, their only viable choice would have been to flee for their lives.

Reflecting on their now messed up plans, they realized that Alec had to be eliminated here and now, because if they permitted him to escape, they would live in everlasting dread of him returning with his army of golems to assassinate them.

After all, it wasn’t the first time his golems had been involved in such encounters, but refocusing on the two Golems flanking him, they began analyzing them closely.

They sought to determine what abilities they might employ, fully aware that Alec wouldn’t have brought them along if they lacked the power to influence the outcome of the battle.

To the right stood Butcher, with a smile on his lips, he held his lightning axe in his right hand while a thin, cloud-like mist swirled around his black stone body.

Although this lightning-infused vapor initially appeared formless, however after a closer inspection they were able to figure out that every few seconds, it seems to have condensed to outline the distinct shape of a body armor.

Meanwhile, the Hive Queen had undergone a drastic transformation, after being summoned, she began drawing metal fragments directly out of the air.

These pieces quickly attached themselves to her naked upper body, enveloping her in a metallic suit,

Her newly fashioned upper body suit seamlessly matched her lower blade legs, exuding a dangerous, black widow-like aura.

”It’s only three and a half of them against the four of us; we can absolutely crush them,” Dave whispered to the two mages beside him, trying to rally their spirits.

”Who exactly is the half?” Flint inquired, visibly confused.

”Obviously it’s his mount—you can’t just ignore it in this fight,” Dave the Black retorted, explaining his logic to the pair.

”If it weren’t for the fact that Jake was merely distracting us to tear open a rift in space, didn’t you feel those flames were far too potent for a low rank 7 creature?”

Behind him, his brother simply shook his head at Dave’s wild theories, though he secretly conceded on a few points.

”We do hold the upper hand,” David began in a low tone, addressing the group as both factions stood locked in a tense standoff, waiting for the first strike.

”Only Alec and that lightning golem seem geared for direct assault, the one positioned in the back doesn’t look like a front-line fighter, which suggests its specialty lies in another area entirely.”
