The Golem Mage

782: Pressed.

Above Estonia City, from various clan houses, high- and mid-rank mages could be seen levitating, watching the battle unfold from a distance.

For mid-tier mages, seeing the battlefield clearly from such a far-off vantage point, especially without standing at the city gates was difficult.

However, by focusing mana into their eyes, they could sharpen their vision enough to observe specific angles with clarity.

High-rank mages, on the other hand, had no such limitations, their breakthroughs into the High rank had fundamentally transformed their bodies, pushing them beyond human limits, so something like seeing across vast distances without expending mana was effortless, a mere afterthought.

At this moment, every single mage watching from the city, even the city guards observing the battlefield was fixated on one particular group—the Gordons Clan mages.

Expressions varied, some were surprised, some relieved, some wore smug “I told you so” looks, while others were filled with caution.

None more so than the City Lord himself.

His wariness toward the Gordons Clan only deepened, no matter how he thought about it, he couldn’t figure out how they had acquired such a vast arsenal of spirit equipment and weapons without having exchanged any for battle merits as if they did he would have an account of it since such process passed through the city hall.

There were also no records of carriages delivering such high-value goods into the city in recent months, furthermore, the Gordons Clan had no certified forgers under contract to them so he was completely lost here .

The City Lord had been keeping tabs on the clan, always watching for any sudden growth in power, yet here was a slip-up, one he hadn’t noticed until now.

Though the power boost seemed concentrated among low- and mid-rank mages, but it was proof that he didn’t have as firm a grasp on the Gordons’ activities as he thought.

Elsewhere in the city, Terran also observed the battle.

For the first time, he was witnessing Alec’s full power in action, and he had to admit, he was shocked.

Alec’s level of battlefield control was far beyond expectations, almost like he was watching a general of the War God Mage Academy in the making.

And his golems?

They were only growing stronger.

This only confirmed what Terran had suspected, Alec’s potential as a Golem Mage was still far from its peak, and it wasn’t just his raw fighting ability that set him apart; his strategic mind was equally terrifying.

“I don’t even think I’d need to step in to protect him like the Dean has requested, this kid has every opponent dancing to his tune like a puppet master—but worse, they don’t even realize they’re being drawn into a trap until it’s far too late.” Terran murmured, watching intently.

Above the Gordons Clan estate, a gathering of the clan’s highest-ranking figures stood watching.

The Patriarch, the Grand Elder, the Fifth Elder, the First Elder, and the newly promoted Eighth Elder, Zack, who had only recently stepped into the Low Tier 6 Mage Realm thanks to the cultivation pills Alec had provided was also present.

At this moment, they were experiencing the greatest shock of their lives.

After entrusting Alec with full command of the Clan mages, a lingering doubt had always gnawed at the back of their mind, that was the real reason they had all gathered to watch this battle first-hand.

Were they right to place their trust in Alec?

Would he lead their clan’s mages to victory or to annihilation?

If their forces were completely wiped out, it would take years to rebuild completely from it if the city lord doesn’t keep to his promises of double merits.

But now, as they watched the battle unfold, their doubts were ruthlessly shattered, the low-rank mages under the Gordons banner had played a crucial role in the complete annihilation of the lower-tier zombie horde.

More importantly—not a single mage had died.

Not one.

Alec had orchestrated the impossible.

Now, as the elders watched him shift his focus toward the Mid-Rank battlefield, one thing was clear, either they win or draw in the Mid battlefield , Alec had already changed the course of this battle.

They were confident that victory was within their grasp, smiles spreading across their faces, until a scream tore through the air, followed by a rain of blood cascading from the skies.

Immediately, every High-Rank Mage snapped their attention toward the sky, where the most crucial battle of all was taking place, the Tier 7 battlefield, there, a Tier 7 Mage wielding a sword had been grievously wounded.

His left arm hung limp, completely paralyzed as the zombie virus crept up his veins like blackened roots.

Though he fought desperately to contain the infection, it was clear he wouldn’t last much longer as he was still facing his opponents and once he fell, he would rise again as one of the Undead Zombies.

Before him, two Mutated Tier 7 Zombies, one a Strength Type, the other an Agility Type were poised to lunge at him, ready to end his life at any second now.

He adjusted his grip on his sword, shifting into a defensive stance, if he was going down, he was determined to at least taking one of them down with him.

Even if it meant becoming a zombie himself later, he refused to be a burden to the remaining high rank human forces.

They were already struggling against the sheer numbers of their enemies; if he died, his two opponents would be freed to wreak havoc on his allies, and when he rose again as an undead, he would become yet another dangerous foe they hadn’t accounted for.

That was why, before he died, he felt he had to take at least one of them down.
