”Cold, so cold.”

This was the last thought lingering in Chen Mo’s mind before he fell into unconsciousness.

He knew nothing of what happened afterwards.

He had no idea how much time had passed before he felt warmth in his body, and some consciousness returned. He found himself in a dark place, isolated and cold. No matter which direction he walked in the darkness, the piercing cold clung to him, impossible to shake off.

Suddenly, he sensed a wisp of warmth approaching him.

Acting on instinct, Chen Mo embraced the warmth without a second thought.

Yet this didn’t relieve the cold in him.

Chen Mo hugged the warmth even tighter, as if trying to infuse it into his own body.

In the cave, flames flickered.

Zuoqiu Yiren watched Chen Mo curled up by the fire, uttering only that he was cold, and decided to check on him.

Unexpectedly, as soon as she touched him, he pulled her into a tight embrace.

And the hold only grew stronger.

Zuoqiu Yiren tried with all her might to push Chen Mo away, but discovered a chilling cold emanating from his body and invading hers.

This made Zuoqiu Yiren raise an eyebrow in surprise.

”Even after leaving Wangu Pond and not touching Ice Coffin, why is he still so cold...”

Zuoqiu Yiren checked Chen Mo’s pulse and then separated a strand of her soul to enter Chen Mo’s body through his mouth and nose.

It didn’t take long for Zuoqiu Yiren to discover, to her surprise, that Chen Mo’s True Qi and meridians were frozen. Luckily, his heart vessel was enveloped by a golden flame, indicating he wasn’t in mortal danger.

But the situation was like this: unless the ice was melted, Chen Mo would not awaken.

Zuoqiu Yiren considered injecting her True Qi into Chen Mo’s body.

But thinking about Chen Mo’s frozen and fragile meridians, forcibly unthawing with True Qi might break them, causing more trouble then.

She could only thaw gently.

While this method of thawing was slow, it was safe.

Zuoqiu Yiren blushed, muttered ’damned Chen Mo’ in her heart, and first attempted to call out to Qiao Yushi, who was hidden in Chen Mo’s mind sea.

Seeing the latter also unconscious,

Zuoqiu Yiren lightly bit down her lips, then embraced Chen Mo as well, circulating True Qi within her to transfer warmth to her body surface, helping Chen Mo thaw using her body heat.

In the cave, a solitary man and woman tightly embraced.

A gentle breeze stirred the cave.

The flames in the cave flickered lightly with the wind.

No one knew how much time passed.

Chen Mo felt warmth return to his body, but his hands and feet were still cold.

Simultaneously, he realized the warmth he was embracing had taken shape: it seemed to be a person, even a woman.

Chen Mo wanted to see who it was, but surrounded by darkness, he could only confirm by touch.

His hands were very cold, so he kept squeezing into the warmth he held.

Oddly, even though his hands landed on warmth, they were moved away by some mysterious force.

He could only try again and again.

Yet each time, his touch lasted less than three seconds before being forcibly removed by that mysterious force.

Chen Mo wouldn’t give up.

He tried again and again.

Thanks to his persistent efforts, this time the mysterious force did not reappear, and he rested his hands on that warmth.

Gradually, his hands regained feeling, and he tentatively moved his fingers...

Zuoqiu Yiren clearly couldn’t bear it, her face blazing red. If she hadn’t known Chen Mo wasn’t doing it on purpose, she would have pummeled him fiercely.

Because Chen Mo’s hand first brushed her face.

After she curiously removed it, Chen Mo’s hand landed on her leg.

Annoyed, she slapped it away, but Chen Mo’s hand then rested on her belly.

Though separated by clothing, Ye Yiren was still somewhat intolerant, removing Chen Mo’s hand again.

Soon enough, Chen Mo acted even more outrageously.

He reached his hand into her collar, placing it on her...

This made Zuoqiu Yiren explode. After removing his hand, she slapped Chen Mo’s face. Seeing him not awake and mumbling that his hands were cold, she gradually breathed a sigh of relief.

It seemed like Chen Mo had set his mind against her, for each time he again reached into her collar...

Zuoqiu Yiren naturally removed it every time.

Later, fed up, Zuoqiu Yiren stopped holding him.

But then he suddenly grabbed her delicate foot.

Zuoqiu Yiren immediately felt her body lose strength, as if she’d been electrocuted.

Though she walked barefoot every day, her feet never touching the ground,

They’re still her most sensitive part.

Yet now, they were held by a man.

To be precise, except for herself and her parents, he was the first to touch her feet.

And coincidentally, Zuoqiu Yiren didn’t despise this person.

She even felt a strange sensation in her heart.

Perhaps due to Chen Mo’s previous actions, this time Zuoqiu Yiren didn’t remove it.

Soon, however, she found Chen Mo behaving even more excessively, playing with her delicate foot.

This turned Zuoqiu Yiren’s neck and ears beet red.

Unable to endure it, she kicked Chen Mo’s face hard.

This kick had some force.

It slammed Chen Mo against the cave wall with a loud ”bang.”

Afterwards, Chen Mo didn’t move.

This frightened Zuoqiu Yiren.

She hurried to check, and upon confirming his breathing and heartbeat continued, she let out a long sigh of relief.

In that brief instant where Chen Mo stopped moving, Zuoqiu Yiren’s eyes had welled up, nearly shedding tears.

Looking at that astonishingly handsome face, now marked with a faint red footprint, her sudden laughter couldn’t be contained.

And with that laughter, the moisture in her eyes spilled over into tears.

”You little scoundrel...” Gently pinching Chen Mo’s face, Zuoqiu Yiren pondered for a moment, gritted her teeth, and hugged him again, placing his hands over her heart.

Running True Qi for such a long time tired Zuoqiu Yiren.

No one knew how much time passed before she fell asleep hugging Chen Mo.

...

The night wind whispered, particularly strong outside the cave.

Inside the cave, Chen Mo’s brow furrowed, and then his eyelids fluttered, consciousness gradually returning.

He didn’t immediately open his eyes, feeling his whole body swollen with pain, particularly his back, as if it had been struck violently.

Most puzzling, why did his face hurt so much?

In his mind, there was no memory of what caused his face such pain.

Chen Mo opened his eyes.

Instantly, he was stunned.

Someone was holding him.

And it was a beauty.

Most notably, this beauty was Zuoqiu Yiren.

Swallowing nervously, Chen Mo saw that Zuoqiu Yiren had fallen asleep. Strands of her hair were a little disheveled, and her collar was slightly wrinkled. Gazing at her fairy-like beauty, now so near, a wave of impulse surged in Chen Mo’s heart.

He actually leaned in to kiss those red lips.

As their lips met, Zuoqiu Yiren awoke, eyes wide open.
