Reborn Divine Doctor: The Abandoned Girl's Legend

Chapter 1570: Chapter 630: Selling Prisoners of War, Reunion with an Old Friend

The auction area was much livelier than the other three areas.

The fifth-grade items sold here were significantly cheaper than those in the other areas, but the risk of being deceived was also higher.

However, for some demon hunters and teams who were tight on money, the auction area was undoubtedly an ideal place for transactions.

On the way, Huang Jun roughly explained the situation to Ye Lingyue.

It turned out that after Huang Jun and Qin Xiaochuan got separated from them, they followed the crowd and unknowingly ended up in the auction area.

Both of them loved excitement, and seeing how lively the auction area was, they couldn’t wait to squeeze in.

Little did they know they would stumble upon a human trafficking trade.

”I was wondering what happened; turns out it’s a war prisoner trade. In the Ancient Nine Provinces, war prisoners can be freely traded. You might not have encountered it before, but it’s nothing unusual.”

Tang Tiansong, upon hearing this, suddenly understood.

War prisoners refer to some demon hunters who, while hunting demons, lacked the skills, and were captured by the Demon Clan.

For certain reasons, they were rescued by some strong individuals, teams, or large families.

Being captured by the Demon Clan had caused them to lose their status as demon hunters, making them despised, thus becoming war prisoners.

These war prisoners were no different from slaves.

Their saviors could freely buy and sell them, and beat them at will.

”Yes, I’ve heard of such war prisoners. Their status is quite pitiable.”

Guangzi, who hailed from the Divine Realm, had also heard of war prisoners.

However, it was Ye Lingyue and Huang Jun’s first time hearing about war prisoners. Just thinking about trading fellow humans of the Human Clan like livestock sent a chill down their spines.

Especially Huang Jun, who hesitated for a moment and couldn’t help but speak.

”Originally, it’s nothing, but among the war prisoners we just encountered, there’s someone you seem to recognize, boss.”

Huang Jun’s words startled Ye Lingyue, quickening her steps.

Someone she knew had become a war prisoner?

The auction area was crowded, but thanks to Tang Tiansong and Huang Jun, who paved the way for Ye Lingyue and Guangzi, they made it through.

Qin Xiaochuan still stood there.

This area was dedicated to the trade of war prisoners.

Even though war prisoners were of low status, some of them were still quite capable, making them appealing purchases for some people.

Rows of ragged men and women stood, shackled with specially made handcuffs and ankle bracelets.

Most of them looked haggard and malnourished, their limbs exposed, and bore demonic tattoos on their faces or other prominent places.

Facing the indifferent or scornful gazes around them, the war prisoners remained motionless.

Ye Lingyue quickly stepped forward.

”Cousin Liu Yun?”

Ye Lingyue glanced around the crowd and her eyes settled on one person.

Despite the dirt-covered face, the woman’s exquisite features were instantly recognizable to Ye Lingyue.

The female war prisoner, upon hearing the voice, straightened her hunched back and looked over.

Upon seeing Ye Lingyue, tears welled up in the female war prisoner’s eyes.

Her bloodless lips quivered, as if wanting to say something.

But seeing her own filth and the surrounding gazes, the woman’s look dimmed and she avoided Ye Lingyue’s gaze, pretending not to recognize her.

”Damn it!”

Ye Lingyue felt a rush of heat to her head, knowing for certain it was Ye Liuyun.

Wasn’t Ye Liuyun supposed to be with the Yaochi Immortal Pavilion? How did she end up as a war prisoner?

Where were Yue Mei and Chen Mu’s group?

Judging by Ye Liuyun’s state, she must have suffered greatly.

Ye Lingyue couldn’t help but feel some guilt. Her time at the Ye Family wasn’t long, and she only had ties with Ye Liuyun and Ye Yinsuang.

Ye Yinsuang, lacking the talent of Ye Liuyun, had always stayed with the Ye Family.

Earlier, it was due to Ye Lingyue’s help that Ye Liuyun joined the Yaochi Immortal Pavilion.

During their entry to the Ancient Nine Provinces, communication had been difficult, causing them to lose touch over time. Who would have thought their reunion would be under such circumstances?

Ye Lingyue rushed forward to unlock the shackles on Ye Liuyun’s wrists.

”What do you think you’re doing? These are war prisoners. If you want to buy them, you need to bid.”

A few fierce demon hunters rushed out and pushed Ye Lingyue.

The war prisoners, including Ye Liuyun, were being sold by a third-tier team affiliated with a large city in the Ancient Nine Provinces.

”Don’t touch her.”

Two reprimanding voices sounded, and two surges of qi sent the hunters flying.

Qin Xiaochuan and Xi Jiuye stood behind Ye Lingyue.

Ye Lingyue was taken aback to hear Xi Jiuye’s voice.

Why was he here?

And why did he intervene to help her?

Ye Lingyue glanced at Xi Jiuye, seeing he was also looking at her.

She didn’t bother to pay him any attention and gave him a glare.

”Oh, isn’t this the Huangquan Team? What a small world, running into you here,”

Third Young Master Jin said with a grin as he approached.

Upon hearing Third Young Master Jin’s voice, Guangzi was quite surprised.

Had this playboy’s injury healed?

Despite being hit by his Medical Essence Divine Needle’s Dark Needle, he was walking?

Guangzi noticed that Third Young Master Jin was indeed fine.

Though still looking a bit pale, he could walk, and wondered if he had lucked out and found some hidden divine doctor.

Coincidentally, after Third Young Master Jin was healed by Gongsun Zhi, he needed some herbs to recuperate, and had fortuitously met with Tang Tianqi who invited Xi Jiuye, Hong Mingyue, and others to the Exotic Treasures Pavilion, so Third Young Master Jin tagged along with Gongsun Zhi.

Thus, he stumbled upon the war prisoner trade.

He glanced around the war prisoners and thought some had decent qualities, especially a few female war prisoners who were quite comely. With some care, they’d blossom into beauties.

He was interested in buying some war prisoners.

Unexpectedly, he bumped into Ye Lingyue and her group.

”Miss Guangzi, you’re here too.”

Third Young Master Jin immediately pounced at the chance as if he were a cat who caught a whiff of fish.

”Indeed, Third Young Master Jin, we’re all here, it’s been a while,”

Qin Xiaochuan quickly stepped in front of Guangzi. At this moment, he wished he could be in two places at once with this damned Third Young Master Jin coveting Guangzi’s beauty.

And that Xi Jiuye fellow kept staring at his Sixth Sister-in-law, which really kept him busy.

Seeing Qin Xiaochuan, Third Young Master Jin’s expression soured and he prepared to lash out.

On the side, the hunters who had been taught a lesson climbed back up, and an elder-looking figure came out.

”Gentlemen, are you here for the war prisoner auction? If interested, please place your bids.”
