Reborn Divine Doctor: The Abandoned Girl's Legend

Chapter 1282: Chapter 342: Death or Rebirth

The Jade Bone Demon never imagined that Luo Yi would turn on it so viciously.

”You... how did you not succumb? Didn’t you already fall victim to my Soul Loss Needle? When did you recover?” The Jade Bone Demon couldn’t fathom that Luo Yi, already turned into a Spirit Puppet, would regain consciousness.

”You’re right, I fell victim to your Soul Loss Needle, becoming a Spirit Puppet and even harming those close to me. But I never completely lost my mind because the acupoints within me are naturally different from others. You missed by a hair when you inserted the final Soul Loss Needle into my Shenmen Acupoint.”

The Shenmen Acupoint, the last unknown acupoint that Situ Nan used when refining Spirit Puppets, was something Ye Lingyue had been unaware of.

At this moment, Luo Yi’s eyes were filled with hatred.

Unlike Ye Lingyue, who moved her acupoints through Cauldron Breath, Luo Yi was struck by five Soul Loss Needles, all of which worked except the last one, because her Shenmen Acupoint was misplaced, so the sixth needle was only half-effective.

Thus, even after being struck by six Soul Loss Needles, she retained a bit of consciousness.

Due to the influence of the other five needles, she was sometimes lucid and sometimes completely controlled.

Earlier, when she encountered Huang Jun, Luo Yi already sensed something was amiss.

Later, when she saw the Ghost Doll in City Lord Yang’s room, she was in a semi-conscious state.

But what truly awakened her was the day she met Ye Lingyue.

When Ye Lingyue mentioned Xue Zhong, Luo Yi felt an intense discomfort.

She returned to her room, acting erratically, eventually conflicted with Situ Nan, and was imprisoned.

In the prison, on the day Emperor Shen and others came to rescue Qin Xiaochuan, Huang Jun, seeing Luo Yi in a daze, scolded her. When he mentioned Xue Zhong’s death, Luo Yi felt something within her shatter.

The Soul Loss Needles that oppressed her reason suddenly broke.

Xue Zhong was dead.

At that moment, Luo Yi was like a walking corpse, losing the ability to speak or move, overwhelmed by sorrow.

Yet grief could not solve anything. When she awakened again, she had only one thought.

Revenge, she wanted to avenge Xue Zhong, avenge herself. Situ Nan, the mastermind who ruined her and Xue Zhong, had to pay the price.

Merely killing him was far from enough.

A plan rapidly formed in Luo Yi’s mind...

”So, you saved me? Luo Yi, did you not once have feelings for me? I’ve always been different to you. I love you, even more than Xue Zhong.”

Situ Nan was still unwilling to accept it. He couldn’t believe his Spirit Puppet, which he had meticulously crafted, would betray him.

”Different? You demon, what right do you have to speak of love? For you, I have only hatred. The only one I love is Xue Zhong. I didn’t kill you because I wanted to extract more useful information from your mouth—the Puppet Book and other Demon Clan spies. I’ve failed Lonely Moon Sea, failed the comrades who truly cared for me, and only by doing this can I atone.”

Luo Yi’s hand drove the dagger further in.

The bones of the Jade Bone Demon, its verdant bones gradually turning dark green, eventually blackened, made crackling sounds, breaking apart bit by bit.

That dagger was smeared with a deadly poison, stolen by Luo Yi from the demon’s Alchemy Room.

”Do you think you can kill me like this? You wretch, if anyone dies, it will be you first!”

The Jade Bone Demon began to laugh maniacally, and with a bang, its entire jade bone body exploded, self-destructing.

The massive blast force hurled Luo Yi to the ground, bones shattering and scattering like countless sharp spikes, embedding into Luo Yi’s throat, body, and Dantian.

She fell to the ground, despairingly looking at the Jade Bone Demon.

”Ignorant wretch, do you really think our Demon Clan is limited to a single flesh body?”

At the moment of self-destruction, a speck resembling a firefly-sized Demon Soul flew out of the demon’s body.

The door burst open with a thud.

Ye Lingyue, Emperor Shen, and others rushed in.

”Luo Yi?” Seeing Luo Yi lying on the ground, Ye Lingyue exclaimed in shock.

The Jade Bone Demon, sensing the unfavorable situation, swiftly sent its demon soul flying towards the door, attempting to escape.

Ye Lingyue wasn’t about to let it escape. With a swift motion, she threw an object—the Nirvana Heart Lotus.

The Nirvana Heart Lotus’s golden lotus bloomed open, absorbing the Jade Bone Demon’s soul.

Everyone quickly moved forward to help Luo Yi up.

Seeing such a scene, everyone already understood Luo Yi’s intentions.

”Cough, cough, Ling Yue, Huang Jun, seeing you one last time before I die, I have no regrets.”

Seeing her comrades, Luo Yi forced a smile.

”Luo Yi, don’t speak too much, let me heal you first.”

Ye Lingyue was about to use Cauldron Breath to treat Luo Yi, but as soon as the Cauldron Breath entered, a frown appeared on Ye Lingyue’s brow.

Luo Yi’s body...

”There’s no need. I was injured by the demon, and due to becoming a Spirit Puppet, my organs have gradually turned metallic. Besides, Xue Zhong is already dead. What meaning is there in existing alone?”

Luo Yi gave a bitter smile; as a Spirit Puppet, her life force depended on those Soul Loss Needles.

With the needles shattered, though she regained her mental clarity, it was akin to suicide.

These few days, she had been relying on the Power of Reincarnation within her body, barely holding on, all to have her day of revenge against the Jade Bone Demon.

Unfortunately, despite all her calculations, she couldn’t beat the cunning Jade Bone Demon.

Ye Lingyue gave no answer; what Luo Yi said was the truth.

Although Cauldron Breath can heal almost all internal and external injuries, when the organs have turned metallic, they cannot revert back to their original state.

Luo Yi pulled out two items from her body.

”This is the second half of the Puppet Book, which I copied from the Jade Bone Demon, and a letter written when the demon was communicating with his accomplices. I’ve never sent it out; I wanted to give it to you, thinking it might be of some use.”

Everyone around was silent.

”Ling Yue, is there really no way to help Luo Yi? She...” Huang Jun, on the side, was wiping his tears, sobbing uncontrollably.

”Maybe there’s one way. If the Soul Loss Needle were re-forged, Luo Yi could become a true Spirit Puppet, and she might be able to survive.” Ye Lingyue stared at the half of Puppet Book in her hand.

”Is this... true? Cough, cough, Ling Yue, I know your abilities are immense. I don’t want to be a Spirit Puppet; I beg you, is it possible to merge me and Xue Zhong into one? Even if it’s Vajra or Human-shaped Soldiers, as long as I can be with Xue Zhong forever, I’m willing.”

The once despairing Luo Yi perked up upon hearing Ye Lingyue’s suggestion. She tightly grasped Ye Lingyue’s hand as if it were the last life-saving straw.
