Reborn Divine Doctor: The Abandoned Girl's Legend

Chapter 491: Chapter 361: He Also Has a Domineering Side

Inside the Feng Residence, Ye Lingyue’s mind was in utter chaos.

The excitement and flushed cheeks from the night market had turned ice cold.

Ye Lingyue felt like she had been harshly slapped across the face; right now, all she wanted to do was to leave the Feng Residence as quickly as possible.

After hastily packing her luggage, Ye Lingyue remembered that she should notify Lan Cai’er and take her along when leaving. But how should she explain? It was deep into the night, and both of them were probably already asleep.

What would she say if asked why?

Could she possibly say that she found out Feng Xun had a fiancée... What right did she have to say such words?

After all, she and Feng Xun were merely friends.

He was always a gentle and affectionate man; the care he showed her was likely something his fiancée had also experienced.

Laughing to herself and feeling a surge of sorrow rising from the depths of her heart, she suddenly found herself at a loss as to where to go.

Maybe she should just hide away in the Hong Meng Heaven, leaving all these noisy trivial matters behind her.

”Ling Yue.”

”The night is deep, and Prince Feng, what brings you to my room at this hour? You should go back and rest early to avoid idle gossip. I will leave with my sister and Little Wuya first thing tomorrow morning.”

When Ye Lingyue mentioned ”other people,” her tone was particularly harsh.

Feng Xun thought he would be very upset, but seeing the slightly angry face of Ye Lingyue under the faint light, his heart was instead filled with an indescribable sentiment, and for a moment, his phoenix eyes seemed to gaze upon her in a daze.

Ye Lingyue only felt a burning gaze on her face, and seeing that Feng Xun still refused to move away, she became even more irritated.

She tried to push him away with her elbow. Although she was angry, she knew Feng Xun was not well, and she did not dare to recklessly use her Primordial Power, instead exerting all her Qi just to push.

He didn’t budge an inch.

Feng Xun, who was almost a head taller than her, stood immovable like a clay statue.

Why would anyone need to be so tall when they usually seemed so frail?

”There has never been anyone else between you and me.”

Feng Xun’s voice came from behind her, and when Ye Lingyue heard that voice, an inexplicable irritation flared up in her heart.

She pushed hard, intending to close the door on Feng Xun.

At the moment the door was about to shut, it seemed as though she saw Feng Xun’s face turn ghastly pale as he seemed to shrink down, causing Ye Lingyue to panic.

”Are you all right?” Ye Lingyue’s heart tightened out of concern, and she quickly opened the door, fearing his Cold Syndrome had flared up again.

She nervously felt Feng Xun’s forehead—it was warm and had none of the usual signs of an onset of Cold Syndrome.

Feng Xun suddenly seized both of her hands.

Her hands were firmly held by him; Ye Lingyue’s heart raced, knowing she’d been tricked, and in anger, she tried to push Feng Xun away.

But she overlooked the difference in strength between men and women; Feng Xun used one hand to pin her wrist and trapped her within his arms, gazing intently at the person in his embrace.

Suddenly, he dipped his head down and pressed his lips to hers.

The touch of his cool lips made Ye Lingyue instinctively freeze, and her mind turned blank, with nothing left in it.

Feng Xun’s kiss was different from Wu Zhong’s. It was cool, yet very gentle, brushing her lips as lightly as a feather.

His tongue carried a faint scent of Medicinal Grass.

His kiss was inexperienced, but Feng Xun had always been a quick learner, mastering whatever he set his mind to, whether it was running the Family Head’s duties, conducting business, or this kiss.

His tongue acted like a brush, sweeping over her lips now lightly, now firmly, causing a tingling numbness. Ye Lingyue felt her body go slack, dissolving into a pool of water.

She didn’t even notice when he picked her up in large strides, shut the door, and tossed her neatly packed luggage out.

It wasn’t until they were both nearly out of breath that Feng Xun reluctantly let go of Ye Lingyue.

Her lips were swollen and red.

She never wore rouge, but in Feng Xun’s eyes, Ye Lingyue looked more beautiful than any cosmetic could make her, her eyes sparkling, veiled with a layer of moisture, her breathing erratic.

Her lips, bright red, were tantalizingly inviting.

In such a state, Ye Lingyue’s face wrapped in cumbersome gauze, appeared even more enchanting and bewitching.

To be assaulted in such a manner, and by a sickly patient no less, was infuriating.

Ye Lingyue couldn’t tell if she was more embarrassed or agitated, as she raised her hand to strike him.

Her hand was poised to land on Feng Xun’s face, yet it never came down. There was always a part of Ye Lingyue that couldn’t bear to hurt Feng Xun.

Their relationship was like that of close friends, yet it was more than just that.

With him, Ye Lingyue felt no burden; whether she was annoyed, coquettish, or absurdly demanding, he would always indulge her.

Ye Lingyue, frustrated, stomped her foot and turned away, unwilling to look at Feng Xun any longer.

”Ling Yue, she’s not my fiancée.”

Feng Xun sighed, still holding her tightly in his arms.

His shaven chin was slightly prickly, rubbing against her cheek like a lazy cat.

The intimacy of the action made Ye Lingyue stiffen up, her body shuddering as she tried to pull away, only to find herself locked more tightly in his embrace.

This man, indeed, had a domineering side.

”Feng Xun, you’re just taking advantage of my reluctance to hit you and the fact that you’re a patient! You knew very well that I see you as a confidant, I don’t want to cause you sickness, and you’re exploiting it, aren’t you? Feng Xun, you lowlife, you’re a thousand times more despicable than anyone else.”

Ye Lingyue was fuming, telling herself that yes, because he was a patient, she couldn’t bring herself to push him away, scold him, hit him.

With Wu Zhong, she could bite and scold, but with Feng Xun, any scolding or hitting felt like striking cotton, with no force behind it.

Ye Lingyue didn’t understand why she was comparing two men with completely different styles.

They were so distinctly unalike, yet sometimes they seemed so similar.

”Yes, I’m a sick man, terminally ill. When I can’t see you, I’m afflicted with a malady called yearning, constantly thinking of your voice and smile. When I see you, I suffer from fear of loss, fearing you’ll misunderstand, fearing you’ll be sad, fearing you won’t like this version of Feng Xun. Ye Lingyue, I’ve told myself that if that day you really left Fortune Crane behind, I would give up and stop bothering you. But you returned it to me. It was you who came back to me. We can’t go back, I want you! I want you to be my woman!” He was tall and strong, and when he held her, Ye Lingyue seemed particularly petite; he lowered his head, his lips touching her plump earlobe.

His words were magnetic and seemed to possess an endless magic power, caressing her ears like a lover’s whisper, his soft voice laced with a touch of imperiousness that vaguely felt familiar.

”Are you out of your mind, you already have a fiancée, why are you provoking me?”

Feng Xun’s words crashed heavily into Ye Lingyue’s heart, making it thump wildly.

”That was arranged by Emperor Qing and Master Hong Ru, I never acknowledged it. If they want to marry, let them marry her themselves,” Feng Xun said almost shamelessly.
