Reborn Divine Doctor: The Abandoned Girl's Legend

Chapter 298: Chapter 168: Sparring with the Treacherous Consort (Part 2)

”Sister, how can you say such things? I know there have been some misunderstandings between us, but today, I sincerely came to visit you,” Noble Princess Consort Luo feigned innocence.

”Luo Wan, there are no outsiders here, there’s no need for you to put on that hypocritical facade with me. I must have been blind to have once considered you a sister and almost caused the death of Qiqi,” Empress Liu said with an icy stare, pinning Noble Princess Consort Luo with her gaze.

The smile on Noble Princess Consort Luo’s feigned face slowly withered away.

”It seems you already know about what happened back then. But what good does knowing do? Empress Liu, after all these years, you’re still just as foolish. In terms of beauty, in terms of strategy, in what way are you better than me, Luo Wan? If it hadn’t been for your background, do you think you could have become the Empress? In the end, you still lost to me; my son has become the Crown Prince, and as for you, you couldn’t even protect your own flesh and blood.” Noble Princess Consort Luo sneered, and her heavily made-up face, far from being beautiful, showed only arrogance.

”Heh, Luo Wan, do you truly think you’ve won?” In the eyes of Noble Princess Consort Luo, Empress Liu, who should have been ”weak and fragile,” threw aside the covers and walked step by step towards Noble Princess Consort Luo.

”You, how are you completely fine? Weren’t you just... didn’t you just have a miscarriage...” Pain twinged in Noble Princess Consort Luo’s abdomen.

Before she could finish, she paled and collapsed to the ground, clutching her stomach.

”My stomach?” She looked at her abdomen in disbelief, and between her legs, blood flowed out, hot and stinging.

”Noble Princess Consort, in Xia Palace, you’ve forced so many concubines to miscarry. This scene should be all too familiar to you,” Ye Lingyue emerged from behind the screen.

”Could it be... could it really be me...” Noble Princess Consort Luo’s face flashed red and white, but the pain in her abdomen almost made her faint.

”Congratulations, Noble Princess Consort. You were with child. Oh, that’s not right, you’ve just miscarried, please accept my condolences,” Ye Lingyue whispered into her ear.

She was pregnant, how could she not have known?

These past two months, Noble Princess Consort Luo’s menstruation had been irregular, and she had specially sought out the Imperial Hospital. They said it was due to her recent restless heart, which led to the disruption, and that all she needed was to take some elixir pills.

”It was you! It was you all along who meddled,” Noble Princess Consort Luo suddenly realized.

About two months ago, Emperor Xia had spent a night with her.

It must have been that night that she became pregnant.

Emperor Xia’s overnight records were always kept by the eunuchs in charge, very meticulously.

The menstrual cycles of each concubine were also recorded. Initially, Noble Princess Consort Luo had used those records to plot against many concubines, forcing them to take abortion pills.

She hadn’t expected Empress Liu to use the same tactics against her, repaying all that she had done back onto her.

”Noble Princess Consort, how did the snow clam soup taste these last few mornings?”

The color drained from Noble Princess Consort Luo’s face bit by bit.

”What did you put in my snow clam soup? It’s impossible; I’ve already tested it with a silver needle,” Noble Princess Consort Luo’s belly pain intensified.

”That’s something the Noble Princess Consort herself would know best - it’s the colorless and tasteless abortion pill you prepared,” Ye Lingyue retorted with a cold laugh.

”Guards!” Noble Princess Consort Luo gritted her teeth.

But her maids were all stopped outside Chaohua Palace.

Empress Liu had just miscarried, and by Emperor Xia’s command, no outsiders were allowed to enter Empress Liu’s sleeping palace, to disturb her peace.

”We did indeed conceal the fact you were pregnant, but if you hadn’t harbored malicious intentions and wished to harm the Empress, then how could you have lost your own unborn child?” Ye Lingyue shook her head; she had guessed that as soon as Noble Princess Consort Luo learned about her archenemy Empress Liu’s pregnancy, she must have felt resentment.

Moreover, recently Noble Princess Consort Luo had been close to the Chou Alchemist, which made her cautious.

Chou Alchemist, that very day, not long after he obtained the abortion pill, he was already being watched.

As for the medicine he secretly had someone put into Empress Liu’s soup, it had already been swapped out and stealthily added to Noble Princess Consort Luo’s food.

And just by chance, Noble Princess Consort Luo had chosen today to come to Chaohua Palace to mock Empress Liu, never expecting that she herself would miscarry at this very moment.

It can only be said that Noble Princess Consort Luo, having done so many evil deeds, got her just desserts.

”You killed my child, I want you to pay with your lives, someone come, I want to tell His Majesty.” Noble Princess Consort Luo lay on the ground, like a mother dog.

”Keep shouting, it’s best to let the whole world know, you intended to cause Empress Liu’s miscarriage, but instead, you killed your own child. Besides, the type of medicine on you, it was prepared by yourself, colorless, tasteless, leaves no residue and is completely natural; even if they cut open your belly, they will not find a trace of drug residue.” Ye Lingyue sighed.

Speaking of which, Ye Lingyue had to admire the person behind Noble Princess Consort Luo.

First, it was the Red Pattern Hundred Fragrance Elixir, followed by the high-quality abortion pill, it’s just a pity, what he used was inhuman, ruining perfectly good medicine.

To harm others ends up harming oneself, this is exactly the type of person Noble Princess Consort Luo is.

”Luo Wan, you never thought that you would have this day, right? Actually, I am not pregnant at all. The news of the false pregnancy and the miscarriage were all orchestrated by Princess Ye, just waiting for you to fall into the trap.” Empress Liu walked up to Noble Princess Consort Luo, looking down at her as she lay prostrated on the ground.

She had been fighting with Noble Princess Consort Luo for over a decade, this was the first time she won.

Half a month ago, because Ye Lingyue had rejected the Sixth Prince’s marriage proposal, Empress Liu was so anxious that she almost fainted.

Ye Lingyue diagnosed her and found that she had some irregular heartbeat. Upon investigation, Ye Lingyue discovered that someone had tampered with the tea leaves that Empress Liu often drank.

Empress Liu was furious and wanted to find out immediately who was responsible, but was stopped by Ye Lingyue.

The enemy was hidden, and Ye Lingyue could already foresee the outcome—finding a palace maid or a eunuch as a scapegoat, while the true mastermind would remain at large.

This time it was tea leaves, the next time it might be pastries, or perhaps a poisonous potted plant.

If that’s the case, it’s better to lure out the snake and deal the enemy the most fatal blow.

”So, Ye Lingyue made you pretend to be pregnant. Ye Lingyue, you low-born, you wretch, I have no grudge against you, why did you harm me?” Noble Princess Consort Luo gasped, almost fainting from anger upon hearing this.

She knew that it was absolutely impossible for Empress Liu alone to come up with such a vile scheme.

”Noble Princess Consort Luo, when you killed the unborn children of those concubines, did you ever think that they had done nothing to offend you? Someone take Noble Princess Consort Luo back to her chambers, say she accidentally fell over herself.” Ye Lingyue was afraid that Empress Liu might still have compassion.

Two old nannies stepped forward, propped up Noble Princess Consort Luo, and dragged her out.

The trail of her blood was dragged along a long path.

”Ye Lingyue, you little wretch, I will not let you go!”

Until Noble Princess Consort Luo was dragged out of Chaohua Palace, her voice still echoed.

Empress Liu’s face showed concern; what Ye Lingyue did, especially watching Noble Princess Consort Luo’s child being lost right in front of her, seemed too cruel in her eyes.

”Empress Liu, do you feel that what I did today was somewhat excessive?” Ye Lingyue sensed Empress Liu’s concern.

”Ling Yue, I did not mean that.” Empress Liu seemed to see Ye Lingyue in a new light.

Previously, her impression of Ye Lingyue had always been based on her high-level medical skills, intelligence beyond others, and as the savior of her imperial son.

Yet today’s Ye Lingyue made Empress Liu feel unfamiliar, and even a bit frightened.
