Peerless Medical Emperor

Elder Wu glanced at Chen Qingdi, then turned to Ding and Ning.

”You were trapped by the Black Web, and it was this Mr. Chen Qingdi who rescued you.”

”Furthermore, he was the one who repelled Zhao Quanzhang and his band of assassins, saving my life. You were both grievously injured, your meridians destroyed, and it was also Mr. Chen who took action and pulled you back from death’s door.”

Elder Wu said.

Hearing this, Ding Luo and Ning Li looked at Chen Qingdi, their faces full of gratitude.

”Thank you, benefactor.”

As they spoke, the two of them dropped to their knees before Chen Qingdi with a THUD.

”There’s no need for this. Please, get up quickly. I’m not worthy of such a gesture.”

Chen Qingdi quickly helped the two of them up.

”Your bodies are still very weak. You should go and rest.”

”For the next month, it’s best if you don’t practice any martial arts. Focus on recuperating.”

Chen Qingdi said to them.

”Yes.”

The two nodded, clearly now regarding Chen Qingdi as someone they deeply admired.

They had understood the severity of their own injuries. They had been gravely wounded by Zhao Quanzhang, their meridians blocked, but now their meridians seemed to have been repaired.

’If Chen Qingdi really did save us, then he’s truly incredible.’

’Not only could he repel Zhao Quanzhang, but he could also pull us back from death’s door. There are probably only a handful of people in all of Jingxi who could do that.’

”Alright, Ning, Ding, you two go and rest.”

”For the next few days, just stay put in your rooms and recover. As for my safety, you can leave it to Wu Qiang.”

Elder Wu said.

Soon, Ning and Ding were led away by the other Martial Artist retainers of the Wu Family.

”Since the business here is concluded.”

”Then Elder Wu, Young Master Wu, I’ll take my leave.”

Gong Liangbu clasped his hands in a salute to Elder Wu and Wu Qiang and was about to leave.

”Hey, did I say you could leave?”

Chen Qingdi stopped Gong Liangbu.

”Mr. Chen, is there something else?”

”I’m very impressed with your medical skills.”

”I’ll seek your guidance again in the future.”

It was a rare moment of politeness from Gong Liangbu in front of outsiders.

”Don’t be so formal. I also have a lot of medical knowledge I’d like to ask you about.”

Chen Qingdi said.

”Some other day. I have other things to do today, so I’ll be leaving.”

Gong Liangbu said.

After speaking, Gong Liangbu strode towards the exit.

But with a shift of his body, Chen Qingdi moved to block Gong Liangbu’s path.

”Mr. Chen, what is the meaning of this?”

Displeasure was written on Gong Liangbu’s face. He looked back at Elder Wu, signaling that he should intervene.

But Elder Wu remained silent.

Gong Liangbu then had to look at Wu Qiang, but Wu Qiang didn’t interfere either.

Gong Liangbu now looked completely awkward.

”Mr. Chen, please step aside.”

Gong Liangbu said.

”Has Gong Wuyi forgotten the bet we just made?”

Chen Qingdi said with a smile.

”What?”

Gong Liangbu feigned ignorance.

Seeing Gong Liangbu act like this, Chen Qingdi burst out laughing.

”So, the Martial Physicians of Jingxi are all a bunch of people who don’t keep their word.”

”Forget it, forget it.”

”You can go.”

”But from now on, you’d best take a detour whenever you see me.”

Chen Qingdi said.

”What did you say? Make me take a detour around you?”

Gong Liangbu’s expression turned ugly.

”That’s right. It’s the least bit of respect you should show to someone stronger than you.”

”What, are you not convinced?”

Chen Qingdi looked at Gong Liangbu with indifference.

”Even though you just saved Ding and Ning, in my opinion, that was just a stroke of good luck.”

”If we were to truly compete in medical skill, you wouldn’t necessarily be my match.”

Gong Liangbu said.

”Haha, is that so?”

”Then how would you like to compete?”

”I don’t mind having a little competition.”

Chen Qingdi said with a nonchalant expression.

”You want to compete with me in the medical arts?”

”Forget it. I don’t want people saying I bullied you.”

Gong Liangbu said.

”Before we compete, you first need to honor your promise. Kneel and kowtow to me.”

Chen Qingdi said calmly.

”Young man, don’t be too arrogant.”

”I, Gong Liangbu, am a man of status and reputation in Jingxi.”

”How could I possibly kneel to you? That was just a joke before.”

”Did you actually take it seriously?”

Gong Liangbu said with a cold laugh.

”A gentleman’s word is his bond.”

”You can’t go back on your word like this.”

”Elder Wu and Young Master Wu both heard you.”

”There’s no point in trying to weasel your way out of it.”

Chen Qingdi said, staring at Gong Liangbu.

”What now? Don’t tell me you’re actually going to make me kneel to you.”

”Brat, don’t take it too far.”

Gong Liangbu said with a cold expression.

”Who’s the one taking it too far? Elder Wu, you tell me, should he kneel or not? If you say he doesn’t have to, since we’re in your residence today, I won’t say another word.”

Chen Qingdi turned to look at Elder Wu.

Elder Wu hadn’t expected Chen Qingdi to toss this problem to him. To be honest, he wasn’t prepared for it.

But for some reason, he felt that if he didn’t stand with Chen Qingdi and speak up for him at this moment, he would definitely regret it in the future.

So, he smiled and looked at Gong Liangbu. ”Little Bu, why don’t you just apologize to Mr. Chen?”

”I didn’t say apologize. I said kneel.”

Chen Qingdi immediately corrected Elder Wu.

”Then why don’t you do as you said before and kowtow to Mr. Chen. Don’t worry, I won’t let word of this get out.”

Elder Wu said.

When Gong Liangbu heard Elder Wu say this, he was completely stunned.

He never thought Elder Wu would take the side of a mere kid like this.

”Elder Wu, are you joking with me?”

”He’s just a wet-behind-the-ears kid, and you want me to kneel to him? If word of this got out, how could I still show my face in Jingxi?”

Gong Liangbu shook his head repeatedly.

From the looks of it, he had no intention of kneeling and admitting his mistake.

”Didn’t I just say? I won’t spread this matter around. Why don’t you believe me?”

Elder Wu said to Gong Liangbu.

”No! I will not kneel to this brat.”

”I’m his elder! How old is he? I’m old enough to be his father.”

”What would people think!”

Gong Liangbu kept shaking his head.

In any case, looking at Gong Liangbu, it was clear he wasn’t going to honor the bet.

Seeing Gong Liangbu like this, Chen Qingdi didn’t get angry. Instead, he slowly walked towards him.

For some unknown reason, as Chen Qingdi walked towards him, he felt an immense pressure.

”Hey, what are you doing!”

”Stop right there!”

Gong Liangbu said in a deep voice.

But Chen Qingdi showed no sign of stopping.

”Hey! I said stop!”

Gong Liangbu shouted.

Chen Qingdi walked right up to Gong Liangbu and stopped. He gently extended a finger, on which a milky-white light shimmered.
