Naruto: Naraku Grows Stronger as a Beautiful, Tragic Side Character

Chapter 82: Chapter 82: The Darkness of the Ninja World Shares One Stone, Shimura Danzo Owns Eight

Last time, in the Sinkhole, time was too short, and Naraku didn’t get a chance to check the forums. Now, lying in bed with plenty of time to rest, he could finally read through them slowly.

As expected, the fanfiction section saw a sharp increase in BG (Boy x Girl) content due to Uzumaki Kana’s appearance.

For example, ’The Dreamweaver (Naraku x Kana)’, ’Life and Death Vows (Naraku x Kana)’, ’Broken Echoes (Naraku x Kana)’... If it weren’t for the several-year age gap between him and Kana, they would probably be considered the official couple by now.

However, the fanfictions written about him and Kakashi or Sakumo, when combined, were far more numerous than these. It looked like a fierce competition, with them constantly chasing each other, and their popularity remained sky-high.

’The Truth is a Lie (Kakashi x Naraku)’

’After Kakashi Abandoned Him, Naraku Finally Forgave Him’

’Fireworks (Sakumo x Naraku)’... Many short edits and hand-drawn animations also appeared, with various musical timings and special effects being skillfully used by talented creators. Even Naraku secretly liked the videos of his super cool self.

After indulging himself, he then wandered over to the plot discussion section.

’Danzo The Old Thief Deserves to be Sliced into a Thousand Pieces, But Hiruzen Sarutobi Isn’t Exactly a Good Person Either’

1L (OP): As the title says.

Initially, when Danzo proposed to Hiruzen Sarutobi to transfer Naraku to Root, Hiruzen Sarutobi firmly suppressed the matter. I even thought that after so many years as Hokage, he handled things fairly and could keep Danzo in check.

But it was all for naught. Danzo secretly worked behind his back without restraint, and when he failed, Hiruzen Sarutobi eagerly cleaned up his mess.

Ultimately, he didn’t care about fairness at all.

His opposition to Danzo’s radicalism wasn’t for the grand reasons he claimed; it was simply because he didn’t want any internal disturbances in Konoha.

For this, he could oppose Danzo, and he could also clean up after Danzo’s failures.

If Danzo could truly eliminate the Uchiha silently and without any consequences, his attitude would probably not have been like this; instead, he would have allowed Danzo to act freely.

Essentially, he and Danzo were both suspicious and wary of the Uchiha. However, he preferred to use conciliatory methods to control the Uchiha, simply to avoid damaging Konoha’s overall strength.

2L: I guess Danzo saw through Hiruzen Sarutobi’s thoughts, which is why he acted so brazenly. Because their attitudes towards the Uchiha were fundamentally similar, just their methods differed.

So, as long as Danzo didn’t leave any loose ends that would cause internal strife in Konoha, Hiruzen Sarutobi wouldn’t touch him. After all, once things were done and irreversible, dealing with him would only cause Konoha further losses.

3L: Alas, what happened to the man once known as the ”Ninja Hero”?

4L: Perhaps sitting in the Hokage’s position, considering Konoha’s overall interests is the highest priority.

5L: Ninja isn’t exactly a glorious and righteous profession to begin with. As the leader of Ninja, what’s the use of fairness and justice?

6L: Reply to 5L: Holy crap, I almost forgot, Ninja are actually mercenaries...

’Looking Back at Naraku’s Journey, It Was Truly Bitter’

1L (OP): Naraku’s journey back to Konoha from Hidden Rain Village was truly agonizing. It wasn’t just injuries, blood loss, and exhaustion, pushing himself to rush; it was also mental torment.

Even under such circumstances, he would gently treat Kana, rescue her from Grass Ninja Village, and finally even actively engage in battle to buy Kana a chance to escape.

In that cage specially designed for him, he actually hadn’t completely given up on Konoha, which is why he asked them who they were T-T

2L: My heart ached so much when I saw that. Konoha, the greatest village in the Ninja World, couldn’t even accommodate a child.

3L: The Uchiha bloodline gave him power, but it also became his misfortune.

4L: But it was also Kana, whom he saved, who ultimately saved him.

...10L: I really hate Danzo so much, boo hoo hoo T-T... Naraku awakened his Sharingan early, and it had only been about a month since his Two-Tomoe Sharingan. Then, because of this incident, he got his Three-Tomoe Sharingan, which is why he got the bloodline limit sickness.

11L: No joke, Danzo is now on the ”Most Hated Characters in Anime” list, and quite high up too, with a flood of curses in the comment section.

12L: Now I just hope Tsunade can cure Naraku. I don’t ask for anything else.

13L: I feel like a cutting board, getting chopped at daily.

...’He Came From The Light’

1L (OP): The scene where Naraku pulled Kana out of the cave was so tear-jerking.

I’ve added Kana’s first-person perspective, which The Old Thief didn’t release. [Image].

2L: It’s so impactful, I wish I could reach out my hand T-T

3L: Let’s take a step back, why couldn’t it be me that Naraku reached out to pull up QAQ

...7L: I’m going to sleep with this drawing tonight. Thank you, artist, for letting me have another sweet dream. Amen!

8L: Artist, can I print it out and stick it above my bed? I feel like I could be pulled to heaven by Naraku in my dreams tonight.

...’Danzo’s Two-Birds-One-Stone Scheme Was Endured by Naraku with His Life’

1L (OP): Did everyone notice? Earlier, when Danzo and Hiruzen Sarutobi argued, Danzo brought up the idea of removing Sakumo from his position. My personal judgment is that his attack on Sakumo Hatake had been planned for a long time, and this time it just happened to align with his scheme to harm the Uchiha.

The Old Thief is truly cunning. This move not only allowed him to use Hidden Rain Village to eliminate the most talented member of the Uchiha, but also incidentally caused White Fang to act recklessly out of concern, making mistakes amidst the chaos, damaging his prestige, reducing his chances of becoming Hokage, and eliminating a competitor.

And if Sakumo couldn’t become Hokage, it would be even more convenient for Danzo to target the Uchiha in the future.

If Naraku hadn’t survived, Danzo would probably have profited immensely.

2L: That makes sense... I feel like Danzo’s plan won’t just end here. He failed this round, but what about the next? And the one after that?

He’s almost crazy with desire to become Hokage. He probably can’t sleep at night just thinking that the Uchiha and White Fang are allies. How could he possibly let the Uchiha and Sakumo Hatake off the hook like this?

3L: The old *******, his mind is still quite sharp.

4L: The darkness of the Ninja World is one stone; Danzo Shimura occupies eight dou, and everyone else shares two dou.

5L: Naraku already has the bloodline limit sickness, so Danzo’s plan has actually succeeded for the most part.

—

Naraku logged off the internet, opened his eyes, and looked at the white ceiling, then out the window.

Danzo Shimura was even more insane and intense than in the original world, lurking in the darkness like a beast, and would probably bare his fangs again soon.

It was late night, and the moonlight poured down like a waterfall. Naraku, in a daze, felt as if he had returned to the day Kakashi first saved him, also a silent moonlit night like this.
