A Blind Swordsman's Sword Coffin

When the turquoise spirit pattern on Liu Yunxuan’s brow burned away, Ye Feng and the others sensed a vast, oppressive aura. It felt like it didn’t belong to the Spirit World at all.

The aura stopped Li Guanqi forcefully at one hundred zhang. Liu Yunxuan’s expression turned solemn. He clasped his fists and bowed deeply. “I am Liu Yunxuan of the Liu family. To avenge my clan’s destruction, I beseech the Jade Mountain True Immortal to bestow divine power and slay my enemy!”

The moment he finished, a turquoise divine light tore through the heavens, ripping apart the domain and seeking to merge with Liu Yunxuan.

Li Guanqi watched coldly. Suddenly, he sensed that Sword Spirit was furious. Their hearts were one. Without hesitation, Li Guanqi forced his way through the crushing pressure. Gales shredded his body, yet he raised his sword at the descending immortal power.

“Heaven-Opening Tier, Red Lotus Heavenly Dance!”

Countless sword rays filled the skies. Liu Yunxuan laughed maniacally. “It’s useless! This is the power of a true immortal from the Immortal World!”

But to his shock, the immortal’s power shattered into fragments, and an unseen force at Li Guanqi’s brow absorbed them all.

Sword Spirit’s voice dripped with contempt. “True immortal?”

Li Guanqi’s sword spirit void hummed, absorbing the immortal’s power. It didn’t match his spirit root’s element, but it was extremely pure and carried a mysterious energy. His wounds healed, and the cultivation he’d forced through stabilized.

Liu Yunxuan was dumbfounded. That’s the power of our clan’s ascended ancestor!

He had made offerings to the ancestral mark for over ten years, but the first time he used it to invoke an immortal, the power was stolen.

The oppressive aura began to dissipate. Li Guanqi couldn’t hold back anymore. He rushed toward Liu Yunxuan, his mind flashing with memories of Yu Sui’an. The little girl could be troublesome, sure, but she was kind at heart. He couldn’t imagine the depth of her anguish during that torture.

Li Guanqi’s expression twisted, his sword trembling as he unleashed a flurry of strikes.

Liu Yunxuan countered, unleashing several turquoise sword rays.

“Wind Fiend Strike, Rising Clouds!!”

With one strike, countless turquoise gales surged upward.

Li Guanqi’s expression remained calm, his eyes cold with killing intent. He recalled the moment the Sword Spirit had unleashed her strike.

Witnessing Liu Yunxuan’s full strength, Ye Feng clenched his fists. He had to admit Liu Yunxuan was strong. Even if Ye Feng released the Ghost Arm’s power, he could not withstand that sword strike.

Cao Yan’s hair stood on end, and the flames in his body started to surge uncontrollably.

But when they saw Li Guanqi raise his sword to the heavens, their jaws dropped. Xiao Chen’s feet glowed as he prepared to intervene. “Boss, don’t!”

They thought Li Guanqi was about to unleash the same devastating technique as before. The strike had been beyond their comprehension, but it had cost him thousands of years of lifespan.

The Red Lotus Sword trembled, emitting a piercing cry. Crimson sword light shot dozens of zhang forward, as if aiming to pierce the heavens.

Li Guanqi snarled and slashed down, roaring, “Red Lotus, World Annihilation!”

Boom!

Devastating purple-black lightning crashed down. A strange crimson glow flickered, and a massive sword ray nearly two hundred zhang long shot forward, draining Li Guanqi’s dantian of vital force.

The gales broke apart, and the sword ray obliterated Liu Yunxuan’s barriers one by one.

Pfft!

Liu Yunxuan was cleaved in half from the chest down.

His treasured sword exploded into fragments. The sword coffin opened, claiming the half-step spirit treasure sword—Wind Fiend—as its own.

Liu Yunxuan felt his life slipping away, terror overwhelming him.

“Boss! Boss, are you alright?”

“Quick, transfer vital force to him!”

“Brother Luo, give me an arm!”

But Li Guanqi only paused for one breath before appearing behind Liu Yunxuan.

He seized Liu Yunxuan’s head and sealed his soul inside with crushing force. Then, shockingly, Li Guanqi used vital force to reattach Liu Yunxuan’s severed body.

Just as Liu Yunxuan felt a flicker of relief, his immobilized body slowly turned.

Li Guanqi’s right hand moved toward his eyes. Liu Yunxuan trembled violently, eyes widening. “You... What are you doing?! Kill me!”

Li Guanqi’s fingers pressed into his eye sockets, his voice cold. “Kill you? No... that would be too merciful. I won’t let you die so easily. I’ll repay everything you’ve done. Hundredfold, thousandfold.”

Blood sprayed as he ripped out both of Liu Yunxuan’s eyeballs.

“Ahhhhhh! Li Guanqi! You bastard! Kill me! Just kill me if you’ve got the guts!”

“So noisy,” Li Guanqi muttered.

Smack!

He struck Liu Yunxuan’s jaw, shattering the bone. Liu Yunxuan’s mouth hung open, but no sound came.

Li Guanqi shoved his fingers inside, grabbed the tongue, and yanked. He ripped it free with a wet tearing sound.

“Mmmphhh!”

An invisible force locked Liu Yunxuan in midair. Li Guanqi glanced at his lower body and kicked.

Blood soaked his robes.

Now, Liu Yunxuan’s eye sockets were hollow, blood dripping from his jaw. A vein bulged on his neck, and his face was ‌purplish-red.

“Mmmphhh! Mmmphhh!”

Li Guanqi curled his finger, forcing Liu Yunxuan into a spread-eagle position.

The Red Lotus Sword traced lightly across Liu Yunxuan’s fingers, then up to his face. The cold touch and stinging pain made him shudder. A foul stench rose from beneath him.

A long bloody line appeared, then another.

Li Guanqi pried Liu Yunxuan’s fingernails off one by one, speaking calmly. “You won’t die.”

Slowly, he ripped off a strip of skin the width of a pinky finger. “As long as I live, you won’t die. The Liu family will not die.”
