A Blind Swordsman's Sword Coffin

Even Li Guanqi felt a little shy after hearing He Yuanting’s praise. Why does it feel like he’s trying to cozy up to me? It was strange.

Li Guanqi noticed two more people. One was a man with very fair skin who dressed like an aristocratic gentleman from down the mountain. He seemed to be in his twenties, idly shaking a folded fan in his hand. He even had willow-like eyebrows. When he walked, he swayed his hips so much it looked like he was about to brush the sky.

But Li Guanqi couldn’t sense this gentle, feminine man’s cultivation level either.

“Wow... Brother He, since when have you offered such high praise? I want a compliment too...” the feminine man said, leaning closer to Hen Yuanting as he spoke.

He Yuanting pressed a large, muscular hand against the man’s face and shoved him away in disgust. “Ju Shaolin! Get the fuck away from me!”

But Ju Shaolin stuck out his tongue and licked He Yuanting’s palm.

He Yuanting regretted not crushing Ju Shaolin’s face when he had the chance.

Ju Shaolin was wearing luxurious, form-fitting purple robes. He retreated a zhang, then eyed He Yuanting seductively, licking his lips. “Brother Ting, you’re still as dominant as ever... I love it.”

His soft, breathy voice made everyone gag.

Li Guanqi rolled his eyes. Thankfully, he was blind, so they couldn’t tell.

But he realized that while the surrounding Great Profound Sword Sect disciples all shuddered, no one dared look up. He sensed... fear.

Li Guanqi looked at Ju Shaolin. The moment he did, Ju Shaolin turned to meet his gaze, and his smiling face turned cold. He’d barely turned his head, but he glared at Li Guanqi through his long, thin eyes like a venomous snake. Even his feminine voice deepened.

Li Guanqi sensed a frigid aura enveloping him. His breathing grew labored, his face reddened, and the surrounding space warped as if something was squeezing him.

Clang!!

A bright sword cry rang out, but the Red Lotus Sword was trapped inside the sword coffin, unable to fly out. The surrounding space seemed to solidify, and his primordial soul was sealed.

A vein bulged from Li Guanqi’s neck as his face turned red.

Sword Spirit’s voice rang in his head. “Do you want me to kill him?”

“Not... for... the moment!” Li Guanqi replied with great difficulty.

A blade of invisible sword qi swooped past Li Guanqi’s ear, so fast he hadn’t even noticed it. There was not a hint of vital force in that sword qi.

The space around Li Guanqi shattered, and he felt momentarily lighter.

He Yuanting appeared before Li Guanqi and looked at Ju Shaolin.

“Ju Shaolin, you’ve crossed a line,” he said, his voice flat.

Ju Shaolin’s eyes widened, and a smile spread across his face. “Ah... Brother Ting, why are you mad at me over an outsider? Fine, fine. I’ll stop, I’ll stop.”

He shot Li Guanqi a venomous glare over He Yuanting’s shoulder and chuckled coldly. “You got very lucky. You’d better not let me catch you. You’ve... caught my eye.”

Li Guanqi had no fear. “I hope I get to catch you myself. I’ll kill you.”

Ju Shaolin burst into laughter and turned to He Yuning. “You’ve got pretty good taste. His lifespan will be short, though.”

He walked away, swaying his hips and waving over his shoulder. “He Yuanting, don’t forget what we discussed.”

He Yuanting’s face darkened, but he remained silent.

On the other hand, a man in navy blue robes tried to lighten the mood. He had a bushy beard, a muscular figure, and a large axe hanging at his waist. With a big smile, he said, “Hahaha, Old He, don’t be mad. You know how he is. There’s no need to get upset over him.”

He Yuanting glared at Ju Shaolin’s retreating back and huffed coldly. He looked at his palms and rubbed them hard. “I’m so fucking unlucky... Old Li, no one can take it when he’s like this every day.”

He turned to Li Guanqi and smiled. “Are you alright? Did that scare you?”

Li Guanqi shook his head. He would remember this. If he ever got the chance, he would get his revenge.

Ju Shaolin.

He Yuanting smiled. “Since we’re done here, let’s go. Come visit our main pavilion.”

“Senior He, I have a favor to ask,” Li Guanqi said. “I’m not sure if you’ll agree to it.”

The man paused. Is he gonna make an unreasonable request just because I praised him?

The smile on He Yuanting’s face slowly disappeared. “Oh? What is it? Tell me.”

He Yuning noticed the change in his father’s tone. He sent Li Guanqi a voice transmission in a panic. “What are you doing?! You’re leaving a bad impression!”

As if he hadn’t heard He Yuning at all, Li Guanqi bowed slightly, then glanced at He Yuanting and the sword cut behind him. “I am not a member of the Great Profound Sword Sect, yet I received recognition from an ancestor of the sect, who taught me his sword intent without holding back.”

He Yuanting’s expression didn’t change. Losing a Sword Heart Realm sword intent stung, no doubt. But since Li Guanqi was someone his son brought back, he had no choice but to be magnanimous. Anything less would make him seem petty.

Li Guanqi continued, “Therefore... if I may be so bold as to make a request... I, too, would like to leave behind a wisp of sword intent in the Sword Abyss.”

He Yuanting started, and his eyes lit up. Yanluo Sword, Li Guanqi!

His sword intent was between the Sword Courage and Sword Heart Realms, only a step away from the Sword Heart Realm. It was rare for sword cultivators to leave their sword intents behind, much less one in this special state.

He Yuanting realized he’d jumped to conclusions about Li Guanqi. He smirked and made a big sweep with his hand, moving all his disciples ten thousand zhang away. With bright eyes, he looked at Li Guanqi and said, “Comprehending the Cliff Drop Sword Intent was your own achievement, but leaving behind the Yanluo Sword Intent is an act of kindness. The Great Profound Sword Sect is happy to accept this gift! Leave it wherever you want.”

He Yuanting glanced at He Yuning proudly, genuinely happy that his son had found a friend like Li Guanqi.

Li Guanqi’s gaze turned determined. He pointed next to the Cliff Drop sword cut. “I’ll do it here.”
