A Blind Swordsman's Sword Coffin

A five-zhang-long lightning dragon roared as it shot past Li Guanqi. Twisting through the air, it swung its tail.

Boom! Boom!

The two tails collided. The lightning dragon’s scales immediately shattered, and light-gold blood spattered through the air.

Then the fire spirit’s tail exploded.

The pain only enraged the lightning dragon further. It glanced at Li Guanqi, releasing a strange energy that wrapped around him. Before he knew it, that energy had flung him onto the lightning dragon’s neck.

Li Guanqi found himself riding the dragon without even realizing how.

The lightning dragon roared, arcs of lightning crackling around it. The lightning it exuded was dark purple and incredibly powerful, far more destructive than anything Li Guanqi could wield.

The lightning dragon accelerated, almost throwing Li Guanqi off. He quickly gripped its neck.

Roar!!

The lightning dragon opened its jaws wide and unleashed a bolt of lightning.

Boom!

A thick lightning bolt, no weaker than heavenly tribulation lightning, shot toward the fire spirit.

Boom!

The fire spirit’s fire breath dissipated, scattering a world of flames across the sky. The blast even pierced through its body, and its massive eyes glared coldly as it stepped midair, growling in fury.

Li Guanqi grinned boldly. He could feel the lightning dragon’s anger and its determination to protect him.

Together, man and dragon devoured the fiery sea. That sea was not just fire[1] power, but a reservoir of incredibly pure fire spirit qi that had accumulated over countless years. As he absorbed it, Li Guanqi could sense his nascent soul growing. The fire seed that had taken shape in its belly marked the birth of a False Fire Spirit Root. Now, he could both use and absorb fire spirit force.

Buzz!

The fire spirit’s wounds knit together until no trace remained, though fear flickered briefly in its eyes.

Boom!

The lightning dragon’s eyes flashed, and a mysterious but mighty aura burst forth—dragon’s might. True dragons could deliberately release their aura to subdue other beings.

The moment it descended, even the turbulent sea of fire froze briefly.

The fire spirit shrieked as a warning, a flicker of fear in its eyes.

Li Guanqi had a bad feeling. He leaped into the air and released his domain—Sword Prison.

Boom!

“Seal!”

Boom!

A cage of lightning took shape, spanning five hundred zhang. Countless pillars of light locked the space within.

Dong!

The fire spirit swung its tail and shattered the lightning cage, though the recoil left it wounded.

Li Guanqi coughed up blood as his domain shattered. Even while weakened, the fire spirit still possessed power on par with a Divine Transformation Realm cultivator.

As Li Guanqi frantically searched for a way to kill the fire spirit, the lightning dragon coiled its tail around him slowly, lifting him onto its neck.

Its golden eyes blazed with killing intent. Standing tall, it arrogantly looked down upon the fire spirit, appearing even more ferocious, as if the fire spirit had just challenged its position as a true dragon.

A brazen, lowly fire spirit had just injured its father.

Buzz! Boom!

The lightning dragon released its dragon’s might, and even the sea of fire darkened briefly.

Struck by that pressure, the fire spirit fell into the sea of fire, thrashing weakly amid the flames. Since it was born from a drop of dragon’s blood nourished by nature, a true dragon’s aura naturally suppressed it.

Li Guanqi’s eyes shone. Lightning flashed beneath his feet, and in an instant, he appeared atop the fire spirit’s head. Pressing his fingers together, he drove his entire hand into its skull.

The fire spirit convulsed in agony, but the lightning dragon stepped on it with its claw.

“Flame Devouring Sutra!” Li Guanqi screamed. “Swallow it!”

Buzz! Boom!

A powerful suction erupted from Li Guanqi’s body. The fire spirit’s form broke apart, dissolving into embers that flowed into him. With the essence of the Lightning Dragon Flame now integrated, his fire seed was finally complete.

The once-searing flames turned warm and docile in his grasp.

Time passed, and the fire spirit’s holographic body exploded. The fiery sea started to pour into Li Guanqi, and his vital force fluctuated wildly. He sat cross-legged, guiding the torrent of power through his meridians.

Beside him, the newborn lightning dragon tilted its head curiously, then licked the top of his head. When he didn’t respond, it turned to its broken eggshell.

Its eyes brightened. In a flash, it appeared beside the shell and bit down.

Chomp. Chomp.

The lightning dragon squinted happily as it chewed, coiling its body around the shell and biting off pieces of the eggshell. As the shell disappeared, the lightning dragon’s true aura as a tier-five demon finally revealed itself, its power clearly increasing.

Its scales shone brightly with a cold light, and its wounds healed at a visible pace.

Sword Spirit appeared in front of the lightning dragon and murmured, “A true dragon indeed... It’s already a tier-five demon as a newborn.”

Her eyes shifted toward Li Guanqi. She smirked. “It’ll be a great asset. A dragon swordsman... how lucky.”

The lightning dragon sensed her presence and looked up. Startled, it scrambled backward, even leaving its eggshell behind. It crouched low and growled warily.

Sword Spirit smirked, amused.

Though newly born, the lightning dragon instinctively knew that she posed a real threat.

Yet when it saw the eggshell before her, it hesitated. It quietly reached for the eggshell with its tail.

Sword Spirit burst into laughter at its comical behavior.

The proud five-zhang-long dragon had been crouching and growling at her. Moments later, it was sneakily reaching for its eggshell with its tail, lips pursed in effort.

Sword Spirit tapped the shell lightly, sending it floating toward the dragon. The dragon was surprised, not understanding why she would return the eggshell.

It had a faint feeling that it could trust her.
