A Blind Swordsman's Sword Coffin

As the sun rose, its golden light spilled across the shattered sect grounds, illuminating rubble and bloodstains that stood out starkly amidst the wreckage. Severed limbs and corpses lay strewn across the earth.

Han Tiange was as pale as death. Ye Shaozhen, Yu He, and the others trembled uncontrollably. They kept their heads bowed, lips sealed, as if terrified of being noticed.

The last to arrive, the old man named Kong Yan, swept his gaze across the carnage before lifting a withered hand into the air.

Han Tiange’s face changed instantly. To everyone’s shock, a mist of blood burst from his body as he shot into the sky in a streak of crimson light.

Kong Yan’s eyelids drooped, his gaze utterly void of emotion. He murmured a single word: “Seal.”

Boom!

A spirit seal erupted from his palm and sliced through the air. Han Tiange’s agonized screams split the sky as Kong Yan reached out, dragging Han Tiange toward him and twisting his limbs in sickening angles.

He caught the bloodied Han Tiange, then turned to Lu Kangnian with a slight bow. “Sect Master, what shall we do with this one?”

All eyes fell on Lu Kangnian.

Han Tiange’s complexion was utterly pale. He looked to Lu Kangnian with pleading eyes.

Lu Kangnian’s face was pale as well, but after glancing at the surrounding disciples, his gaze hardened. He took Han Tiange from Kong Yan and severed his head with a single stroke.

Han Tiange’s head flew high into the air.

Lu Kangnian followed with a blade of sword qi that shattered Han Tiange’s divine soul. Then, holding the severed head aloft, he bellowed, “From this day forward, the Purple Sun Pavilion shall cease to exist!”

Kong Yan smiled in satisfaction. With a flick of his finger, he announced, “All cultivators from the Purple Sun Pavilion at the Nascent Soul Realm and above shall be killed! The same goes for the other three sects that joined in the slaughter.”

Boom!

Ye Shaozhen collapsed where he hovered, sitting mid-air with a hollow gaze. He murmured, “I’m finished...”

Boom!

Li Guanqi and the others did not need to lift a finger.

Streaks of light tore through the sky, and sword lights lashed out in all directions. A crushing force descended from the heavens, and a rain of blood began to fall. One after another, the sounds of golden cores self-destructing rang through the air.

The disciples of the other three sects watched in horror as their sect masters and elders were slaughtered like cattle. Their hearts seized with terror, all will to resist draining away.

They began to wonder—how would the cold-blooded Lu Kangnian treat them?

From the moment he’d chosen to fight, Lu Kangnian vowed to be more than just a passive defender—he would strike back harder. “Purple Sun Pavilion! Seven Strings Sect! Azure Dragon Island! Purple Cloud Sword Sect! The disciples of all these four sects shall have their dantians crippled to prevent future threats!”

Everyone drew in a sharp breath.

Brutal.

Utterly brutal.

But no one could say it was undeserved. No one had expected the war to escalate so violently. There was no room left for compromise. And with so many powerful cultivators summoned back to the Daxia Sword Sect, there was no question of the outcome.

Three Divine Transformation Realm cultivators. Roughly sixty Nascent Soul Realm cultivators.

The moment those sixty attacked, the enemy’s Nascent Soul Realm cultivators had their fates sealed. They couldn’t do anything, not when three Divine Transformation Realm cultivators were involved.

Very soon, all the surviving disciples of the Purple Sun Pavilion had their dantians crippled.

The distant observers hidden in the shadows felt a chill deep in their bones. “From today on, no one in the Northern Territory will dare offend the Daxia Sword Sect.”

Even the top three sects would think long and hard before confronting such madmen.

After news of this battle spread, no one would believe that the person who started it all was just a six-year-old girl.

Once the bloodshed ended, they swept through the Purple Sun Pavilion like a storm. They stripped off the glazed golden roof tiles, pried up the white jade flooring, and searched the ruins of the sect from top to bottom repeatedly.

They raided the sect’s treasury, seized the underground spirit vein, and even pried the bookshelves from the library walls to take back home.

After all was done, Lu Kangnian stood in mid-air and bowed deeply to all those who had returned to aid the sect. The current members of the Daxia Sword Sect followed suit.

Then, the people who arrived returned their bows solemnly.

Lu Kangnian said, “I failed you all... I shouldn’t have needed to call you back.”

Kong Yan looked at him and smiled. “You’ve done well. Who would’ve thought the muddy little boy I once knew would become such a fine sect master? Though we’ve long left the sect, our hearts have never strayed. We’re proud to have fought beside you today.”

The returning disciples smiled. They’d always believed the Daxia Sword Sect shouldn’t have remained so small. Based on today’s events, the sect was on track for greater heights. They believed that under Lu Kangnian’s leadership, the sect would flourish.

The man in golden armor, Cui Quan, wrapped Lu Kangnian in a hearty embrace and laughed. “Kangnian! I knew you had it in you! I was right to step aside and let you lead!”

Lu Kangnian punched him playfully in the shoulder. “At the time, the Sect Master wanted you to take the mantle, but you snuck away in the dead of night and left me with this mess!”

Then, Lu Kangnian looked at the lady who was standing nearby. “Sister Tu...”

The woman in ice-blue robes gave him a warm smile and nodded. “You did well. We’ll take our leave now. Just contact us if ever you need help.”

She waved her hand. A bright light lit up beside her, and a low-grade spirit vein appeared in full view.

“I’ve been away from the sect for many years, but I still don’t have anything outstanding to offer. Please accept this spirit vein as a small token from me.”

Cui Quan smiled, then waved and gave them another low-grade spirit vein. “Immortal sects need resources to thrive! I don’t have much either—take this.”

Kong Yan gave a bitter smile, shaking his head. He pointed at them both. “You brats are lighting a fire under me!”

Tu Shan and Cui Quan looked at each other and smiled.

Kong Yan laughed. “No matter. It’s been so many years. The time for the Daxia Sword Sect to rise... has come.”

Buzz!

Two pitch-black spatial fissures opened beside him, and two mid-grade spirit veins, each two hundred zhang long, flew out. He flicked his sleeve, sending tens of cultivation manuals and hundreds of low-tier magical treasures into the air.

Kong Yan pointed at the waving sect flag below and instructed, “Kangnian, from this day onward, this is what the Daxia Sword Sect should be!”
