Reborn in the Eighties as a Housewife with a Space

Chapter 1402: Chapter 1396 – Drugged_1 Chapter 1402: Chapter 1396 – Drugged_1 The woman was oblivious to the consequences of her act; having put Xue Ling with the others, she left the room.

Only when she was no longer within smelling distance did Xue Ling dare to open her eyes. She was shocked by what she saw. How could there be so many children trapped here? Was that woman planning to sell all these children?

“Hey, wake up.” Xue Ling went over to a little boy and gently tapped his face.

“Hmm, who are you?” The boy asked as he felt the gag removed from his mouth and saw the pretty girl in front of him.

“I was brought here. What’s happening? Why is everyone tied up?” Xue Ling took note of the nearly twenty people scattered around.

“An auntie and an uncle lured us in here. They didn’t want us running off or screaming, so they tied us up.” The small boy explained while expressing surprise that Xue Ling was also tricked into coming.

“How long have you guys been here and how have your days been?” Xue Ling inquired further.

“Someone comes to feed us at certain times, so we don’t starve. I overheard them talk about taking us to a better place,” the boy shared what he knew after thinking for a bit.

“You believe them?” Xue Ling slightly rolled her eyes.

“No, sister, I want to go home.” Cohen had come to Hua Country to visit relatives with his mother but didn’t anticipate being kidnapped.

“Where is your home?” Xue Ling asked the little boy.

“I don’t know. I was picked up and brought here, so I’m not sure of the location.” Cohen shook his head. He only remembers that his name is Cohen, but he doesn’t recall where he’s from.

“Then how can I take you to find your family?” Xue Ling looked at the clueless child. Somehow, she had stumbled upon this situation. Even so, she wished at least one of the children could tell her where their home was and who their family members were so she could help them.

“I don’t know.” Cohen doesn’t remember anyone else. Even the image of his mother is blurry. He only knows that she has a warm smile and is quite pretty. But he can’t recall anything else.

“Alright, I will untie you now. But remember, do not make any noise. We cannot risk being heard. I will check if I can find a way out and then get help.” Xue Ling decided to untie Cohen first because he was the youngest, about four years old. Despite his situation, he was calm and collected, almost as if he had been through this before.

“Sister, don’t worry. I won’t make any noise. You be careful,” Cohen didn’t expect Xue Ling to offer to untie him. Despite being the youngest and most obedient among them, the woman outside still didn’t trust him and tied him up. What surprised him even more was that Xue Ling was not bound.

“Good boy. Don’t untie anyone else for now. If someone comes, we won’t be able to tie them back up in time, and we’ll be caught.” Xue Ling didn’t want to have everyone’s hands tied, but they couldn’t escape as yet. If everyone’s hands were untied now, it would put them in a precarious position. So, for now, they’d have to endure more time bound.

“I understand, sister. Just be careful.” Cohen watched as Xue Ling darted around the room, inspecting various spots. She didn’t seem like a victim; it was more like she’d come for a visit.
