Dimensional Codex System: I'm really not a cultist!

After this, everything became simple.

Since Duke Gilad had already been caught making a prior attempt to assassinate Princess Mira, plus those CIA agents Fang Zheng had knocked out all over the floor, and Duke Gilad himself had personally admitted to colluding with foreign powers and plotting to murder the Queen and the Prince, what else was there to say? What’s the point of playing detective, just arrest him and let him wait for death.

At the same time, Fang Zheng finally found the research data on something called ”Visbania Ore” in Duke Gilad’s safe, and after reading it, even he was stunned.

According to the information, that ”Visbania” ore was insanely powerful.

Leaving everything else aside, just two of its properties were enough to make Fang Zheng’s eyes go wide.

One was that as long as you input a certain level of electric pulse into Visbania Ore, it could Release an EMP. The other was that Visbania Ore could perfectly absorb electromagnetic signals.

This really was a Divine Artifact.

Fang Zheng finally understood why America, even with everything in chaos thanks to him, still had the leisure to come stir up trouble in this little Eastern European kingdom.

Forget everything else, this ore was top-tier material for making missiles and planes.

Given Visbania Ore’s property of absorbing all electromagnetic signals, if you used it to build an aircraft, that would be a proper fifth-generation fighter—true perfect stealth, absolutely impossible to detect. And if you made it into a weapon, whether missiles or cruise missiles, it would be a massive killing tool to the enemy!

After all, modern society runs entirely on electronic devices—one EMP and basically nothing’s left.

And unlike nuclear weapons, EMP doesn’t have lethal effects on humans, so there’s no need to worry about arousing international public condemnation. If America really pocketed this ore, they could hit wherever they wanted, hit whoever they wanted.

”Okay, even though Duke Gilad’s actions were wrong, I can fully understand what he was thinking.”

Fang Zheng sat opposite Mira, looking at the documents on the table.

”Now that America knows about this thing, your Visbania really will never know peace.......”

At this, Fang Zheng spread his hands, while Princess Mira and Count Geese standing behind her both looked grim.

Duke Gilad had already admitted that America had secretly been supporting a Rebel Army inside Visbania. If he couldn’t carry out the plan as intended or if it failed, the next step would be to immediately flip the switch to civil war mode and plunge all of Visbania into flames. And for America, the value of this ore clearly justified that level of effort.

”Her Majesty the Queen’s approach is actually understandable too. She wanted to cover all this up, pretend nothing ever happened. But unfortunately, what’s happened has happened—covering your ears won’t change anything.”

Fang Zheng shook his head and looked at Mira.

”So what are you planning to do now? Since America already knows, it’s only a matter of time before other countries find out too. Given your geographical position......fine, I don’t think I need to spell it out, you should know what I mean.”

”.........”

Hearing this, Count Geese’s expression grew even darker. To Visbania’s east was Russia, to the west were the UK, France, Germany—nothing but great powers. It’s not just America: any country that learned Visbania possessed this ore would bring trouble straight to their door.

What’s worse, this ore was very easy to weaponize. Unlike nukes—you don’t just need Uranium Mine, you also need a whole set of nuclear reactor technology, plus the cruise missiles and rocket technology required for nuclear weapons. None of that is something a small country can support.

But Visbania Ore—honestly, you hook up a piece of wire and you can make it function like an EMP bomb.

Basically, as long as you’re a civilized human being, you can use it. It’s that simple and convenient.

So it’s not just the Permanent members of the United Nations Security Council; practically any country with a bit of military capability wouldn’t let this slip by.

”Even though Duke Gilad is your enemy, I have to say his thinking was right. China has a saying: ’Seek peace through struggle and peace will survive; seek peace through compromise and peace will perish.’ Frankly, if you want the whole world to respect you and fear you, you have to display strong military power.”

”Can’t we unite with other countries?”

Count Geese couldn’t help speaking up.

”Mr. Fang Zheng, could we ask you to communicate with the Chinese government about this?”

”It’s pointless.”

Fang Zheng shook his head.

”Even if China were willing to make a deal over this, there’s still Russia between you two—too far for them to reach.”

”.........”

”Right now we only have one month. You all heard what Duke Gilad said, I don’t need to repeat it. You’d better first think of a way to deal with the civil war right in front of you.”

Fang Zheng looked at Mira and shook his head, and Mira was frowning tightly as well. According to Duke Gilad, if he failed to take control of Vistania under Plan A, then America would activate Plan B, which meant that immediately after Princess Mira succeeded to the throne, they would launch large-scale protests and riots across the country. At that point, if Mira deployed the Army to quell the unrest, the opposition would use ”the Queen violently suppressing civilians” as an excuse to start a civil war.

And if Mira did nothing, they would use ”the Queen’s incompetence” as the pretext to start a civil war.

In short, whatever Mira did would give them an excuse.

Unfortunately, Duke Gilad only knew this much. It was information CIA had leaked to him as a little threat. As for who exactly would rebel and so on, Duke Gilad had no idea.

On the CIA side, those agents were pros; no matter how they were interrogated, they wouldn’t say a word, which pissed everyone off to no end.

”Ring ring ring......”

Right at that moment, there was a sudden knock at the door, and then a diplomatic aide walked in.

”Your Royal Highness, uh...... um...... the U.S. Ambassador just called......”

”Called?”

”Yes, they...... they said we captured CIA agents who were carrying out a secret mission, and they’re demanding that we release them......”

”Tell them to keep dreaming!”

Hearing this, Princess Mira angrily snatched up her teacup and hurled it at the seat opposite her.

”Those bastards tried to kill me, and now they want me to let them go?! No way!! Absolutely no way!!”

”B-but...... Your Royal Highness, they also said that if we don’t release them, it’ll affect our diplomatic relations with America, and they might impose sanctions on us......”

”I don’t give a damn about sanctions or whatever, get out, and tell that asshole that if he wants them released? No chance! He can just sit and watch those scumbags march onto the execution grounds!!”

At this point Mira was almost berserk with rage, and the diplomatic aide, scared out of his wits, hurriedly turned to leave—but just then, Fang Zheng spoke up and stopped him.

”Oh, right, here’s how you reply to the U.S. Ambassador: tell him Her Royal Highness is currently busy preparing for the succession ceremony, and this matter will be discussed after the succession.”

”This......”

Hearing Fang Zheng’s order, the diplomatic aide was completely baffled. He looked doubtfully at Princess Mira, then at Count Geese, not sure what to say. Mira forced herself to calm down a little, then nodded.

”Whatever Fang Zheng says is what I say. Just answer him like that.”

”Yes, ma’am.”

At least this reply sounded more reliable than the last one, so the aide said nothing more and hurriedly turned and left.

”Bang!!”

No sooner had he left than Princess Mira slammed her palm onto the table and sprang to her feet.

”I’m furious, I’m absolutely furious! I’m going to explode!!”

Watching Mira’s impotent rage, Fang Zheng could understand. The other side had come to kill them; getting caught red-handed would’ve been bad enough, but now they were demanding that Mira let them go, as if she were the one groveling like a grandson...... good thing Mira wasn’t Ran and hadn’t studied karate, or that slap just now would’ve smashed the table to pieces.

With Mira’s explosive temper, there’s no way she could just let it go, but the problem is...... America can impose sanctions.

They can freeze your overseas assets, then cut off your trade links, and when that happens, Visbania will be left standing there with nothing but a dumb stare.

That’s what ”a weak country has no diplomacy” really means.

Fang Zheng took a sip of water and shook his head. Visbania was in Eastern Europe and had been in the Soviet bloc during the Cold War. After the Soviet Union collapsed, things didn’t improve much for Visbania. It was a country that relied mainly on tourism—in plain terms, like an ordinary lower-class resident of the global village who could barely afford to keep food on the table. But now this guy’s backyard had suddenly coughed up a whole pile of gold......

And the news had already leaked......

Looks like his little terror operation was still too small-time. Next time he might as well just bomb the White House.

Fang Zheng silently sketched out his roadmap for the days ahead.

Of course, whether to bomb or not is a matter for later, but right now Visbania’s threat isn’t coming only from America anymore.

Since that’s the case... why not go big?

Thinking this, Fang Zheng stood up. Seeing him rise, Mira couldn’t help but stare.

”Fang Zheng, where are you going?”

”The library. I’m going to look for some inspiration.”

”I’m coming too.”

Hearing Fang Zheng say this, Mira hurried over as well.

”Staying with this bunch is driving me insane. Didn’t you see their faces? Like I’m the one in the wrong...... give me a break, they’re the ones who came to kill me, how did it suddenly turn into my fault?”

As she spoke, Mira turned and shot Count Geese a vicious glare, and he could only sigh helplessly. It’s not that he couldn’t understand what Mira was thinking, but the fact was they’d offended America. Even though America was now being harassed day in, day out by that Peace Envoy organization’s Celestial Being, a dead camel is still bigger than a horse—and Visbania doesn’t even measure up to a horse.

Facing this situation...... Count Geese really had no solution.
