Stockpiling for an Exiled General Through My Store's Back Door

Chapter 213: Chapter 213: Time to Slip Away

”What do you think about this one? Look, the body of this scooter is a bit taller than the others, which will give you a better field of vision when riding. Plus, the rear rack is quite wide, so you can put a lot more things on it. Later, you’ll be in charge of driving this e-bike. Besides, it has a space for a trunk. If we remove the trunk, the space will be even bigger, definitely enough to hold everything we need for our trip.”

Ling Qianjun looked in the direction Hua Buwan was pointing and carefully examined the small electric scooter in front of him. Satisfied, he nodded. ”Mhm, not bad. It does look quite suitable. Let’s go with this one.”

Just then, the shop owner strolled over slowly, preparing to give them a detailed introduction to the features and advantages of various models. Who would have thought that Hua Buwan would be so quick, completely denying him the opportunity. She pointed directly at the scooter they had chosen and said straightforwardly, ”Sir, no need to trouble yourself with the introductions. We’ll take this one. Just tell me how much it is.”

Hearing this, the owner froze on the spot, a look of disbelief crossing his face. He had been in this business for many years, but it was the very first time he had ever met a customer as decisive and no-nonsense as Hua Buwan. For a moment, he was at a loss for what to do. However, Hua Buwan didn’t seem to notice his unusual reaction, still waiting with a smiling face for him to quote a price.

After a good while, the owner finally came to his senses and stammered, ”Uh... as for this scooter, the original price is three thousand five hundred. But if you really want it, I can give you a bit of a discount...”

Before he could finish, Hua Buwan interrupted. ”Oh my, you’re such a good person! I can tell at a glance that you’re an honest man. But, how about two thousand eight hundred? If you agree, we’ll pay right now and ride it away.” Saying that, she winked at him and flashed a charming smile.

The owner was completely spun around by Hua Buwan’s rapid-fire tactics. In a daze, he nodded as if under a spell and agreed. ”Alright, alright, two thousand eight hundred it is. Deal!”

Afterward, Hua Buwan unleashed a shower of sweet talk. The owner listened with a beaming smile, nodding continuously the entire time. Just like that, the transaction was quickly completed. Hua Buwan and Ling Qianjun happily rode off on their newly bought e-bikes.

Meanwhile, the owner stood there, watching their retreating backs. A twinge of doubt crept into his heart. ”Strange, why do I feel like I lost money on this deal?” he wondered.

When he took out his phone to check the payment he had just received, his eyes widened instantly. What was going on? This price was actually much lower than what he had previously sold the exact same model for! Then, he suddenly remembered Hua Buwan’s barrage of compliments about his excellent service and friendly attitude. Was it because all that praise had gone to his head, causing him to not only throw in a free bike lock but also give them a thirty percent discount and two extra-large raincoats on top of that?

Thinking of this, the owner couldn’t help but smile bitterly and shake his head. ”Alas, it seems I need to keep my wits about me when doing business from now on...” he muttered to himself.

Realizing what had happened, he wanted to chase after Hua Buwan, but there was no sign of them outside anymore. By this time, Hua Buwan and Ling Qianjun had each driven a small electric scooter back to the supermarket, and then the two of them pushed their scooters out through the Any Door.
