Hijacking the Timeline

Seated on the sofa, Feng Qi waited for the monk to reveal his secrets.

The monk turned to him and asked, ”Brother Qi, since you know I’m from Jinxian Temple, do you also know the operational area of the Prajna Battle Group, which is under our temple’s command?”

Feng Qi naturally knew the answer. He had thoroughly researched the background forces behind each of his ten students.

He nodded immediately. ”Of course. The battle group’s supply area lies outside Old Day City. From there, they launch expeditions into nearby Domain Fields, making it one of the primary operational zones for numerous domain combat teams.”

”Exactly,” the monk confirmed. ”Our domain combat team is the strongest in that supply area. We frequently lead joint operations with other teams, having cleared a total of 103 Domain Fields to date.”

”We’ve had contact with countless Domain Forces, so we’ve long been aware of their presence lurking within human society. We even hold several Domain Transcenders captive in our Secret Base, from whom we’ve extracted much classified information.”

”Naturally, this includes the Domain Forces lurking within human society.”

”As for why we haven’t revealed this secret to the world... As Brother Qi said earlier, people need hope, but the truth would only bring despair, ultimately leading to one of two outcomes.”

”First, Human Civilization, unwilling to accept its fate, would declare total war against the Domain Forces, accelerating its own destruction.”

”Second, humanity would continue to exist in a state of wretched survival, living out their days with resentment and despair for the future.”

”Neither outcome is what we desire. We believe that only by giving the world hope can miracles occur.”

Hearing these words, Feng Qi nodded in agreement.

The Prajna Domain Combat Team’s philosophy was remarkably similar to that of the Scarlet Research Institute.

Both knew the truth but refused to reveal it to the world, choosing instead to operate in the shadows, seeking a way out for Human Civilization.

”Then why come to Star City Academy? What are you planning?”

The monk paused briefly in thought before continuing:

”Sixteen years ago, while exploring a Domain Field in the Eastern District of Old Day City, our Prajna Second Battle Group accidentally encountered a domain creature as ethereal as a shadow. After the encounter, a fierce battle ensued.”

Upon hearing about the Black Shadow Domain Creature, Feng Qi immediately thought of the Black Shadow Faction behind the Technology Research Institute.

However, he didn’t interrupt and continued listening to the monk’s account.

”In that battle, only two rookies from our Second Battle Group survived. The group leader and all other members perished. When the two rookies returned, they brought back a crystal.”

”Our main group’s analyst team began studying the crystal. Initially, we believed it was a special spirit material previously unknown to humankind. But subsequent discoveries revealed a far greater secret.”

”The crystal was actually a special communication device containing crucial information. After months of decryption, we obtained the data and learned about the true power behind the Black Shadow Domain Creatures.”

As he spoke, a shadow flickered across the monk’s eyes.

”Brother Qi, how do you think humanity’s growth potential compares to that of domain creatures?”

Feng Qi pondered the question for a moment before replying, ”We can’t match the Domain Forces with the highest growth potential, but we’re stronger than many Weak Domain Races. However, in terms of creativity, humanity seems to rival any Domain Force. That’s why we’ve been able to catch up so quickly. All we lack is time to develop.”

The monk shook his head. ”We used to believe that too. But this data reveals a Domain Force with infinite potential—a growth potential far beyond anything humanity can achieve. We call them the Spirit Energy Clan.”

He took a deep breath and continued, ”What makes this clan truly terrifying is their constantly accumulating knowledge reserves. Their bodies are almost entirely composed of psionic material, and every clansman’s consciousness is connected to the holy spirit, granting them extraordinary creative power.”

”What is the holy spirit?” Feng Qi immediately asked.

”The Spirit Energy Clan’s collective consciousness body is similar to the information storage databases in our human society, but far more advanced. For example, whenever a newborn Spirit Energy Clan infant is born, its consciousness connects with the holy spirit, granting it access to the memories and knowledge of its ancestors. From the moment of birth, every Spirit Energy Clan warrior is a top-tier genius.”

”This process repeats with each generation, resulting in an unimaginable accumulation of knowledge. What’s even more terrifying is that beyond ancestral memories, members of this clan can directly extract knowledge from the holy spirit, much like we download information from the internet—even simpler than our methods.”

”Once the download is complete, they instantly master the desired skill.”

”For instance, if I don’t know how to drive but want to learn, my consciousness can connect to the Holy Spirit Information Repository, search for relevant information, and choose to download it. After the download, I’ll instantly acquire the skill, becoming as proficient as a veteran driver with decades of experience.”

Upon hearing these words, Feng Qi drew a sharp breath.

If the monk’s claims were true, the potential of this clan was truly unimaginable.

Such an enemy would be utterly despair-inducing.

”The communication crystal we seized is one of the tools this clan uses for communication. From it, we learned a crucial piece of information: the Spirit Energy Clan is searching for something within human society.”

”What is it?” Feng Qi pressed urgently.

This question had plagued him for a long time. He couldn’t understand why these Domain Powerhouses, who possessed the power to annihilate Human Civilization, would choose to establish themselves within it and scheme for the future.

What exactly were they plotting?

”After analyzing the crystal’s data, we discovered that a traitor had emerged within the Spirit Energy Clan, taking with them one of their most precious treasures. The clan is now deploying its clansmen to hunt down the traitor and any others who fled with them. This renegade faction is highly likely to be hiding within human society.”

Hearing this, Feng Qi immediately asked:

”Do we know what this treasure is?”

The monk shook his head.

”We only know that the Spirit Energy Clan calls it a ’miracle.’”

”A miracle?”

”Yes. To understand what a miracle is, we interrogated Domain-Transcending Creatures imprisoned at Prajna Base. From them, we obtained crucial information.”

”A miracle is a collective term used by various Domain Forces to refer to divine artifacts. These artifacts can alter the fate of an entire race, granting them power comparable to deities.”

”Explain in detail,” Feng Qi urged.

”For example, the Spirit Energy Clan’s holy spirit—the Consciousness Body Information Repository that connects the memories of all their clansmen—is a type of miracle.”

”According to the Domain Transcenders we interrogated, the Spirit Energy Clan wasn’t always as powerful as they are now. But when they accidentally obtained the miracle known as the holy spirit, their race rapidly ascended. Each new generation surpassed the previous one, and within just a few centuries, they had risen to their current status.”

”Therefore, we suspected that the Spirit Energy Clan’s most prized treasure was likely another miracle. However, this miracle had only recently been acquired and hadn’t yet been returned to their clan when it was seized by Spirit Energy Clan traitors and their followers.”
