Eternal Thief

Ace quickly looked at the appraisal result, keeping a close eye on the tiny creature, which had returned to being ‘dead’.

Although it was for only a moment, he was sure about what he saw, and despite not showing any signs of life, he knew this matter wasn’t as simple as it seemed.

After all, if someone had used the language of Ancient Gods to seal her, then her identity would be extraordinary. Even Malservus has been living for who knows how long without getting killed, so this tiny creature might be the same.

Ace was shocked when he read the descriptions of this ‘Primal Spirit’, before a deep frown appeared on his face, ‘What a strange creature. They are completely different from the living beings and even from those natural treasures. They are born from the laws, yet they have flesh and blood.

‘Although I don’t know what it means by ‘free from the cycle of life and death’, I can only guess that it probably has something to do with not being able to die or live. Then their cultivation system also seems completely different.

‘Then this ‘true names’ make them truly unique. The true names seemed to be their vulnerability, especially with this ‘Primal Bond’. A Primal bond seems like the weapon bones of spirit weapons, but far more direct and only with one outcome.’

Ace deeply looked at the Primal Spirit who still appeared ‘dead’, and if he hadn’t seen her eye twitch or read this system’s appraisal, he would’ve really thought she was just a corpse.

‘Was she sealed because she couldn’t be killed? But why would someone go to such lengths to seal her? Without this ‘primal bond,’ she should be completely harmless. Now the question is what should I do with her?’

At this moment, Ace’s eyes widened because the Primal Spirit again showed movement, and this time, her eyes didn’t just twitch, but sprang open, revealing a pair of rainbow eyes like a rainbow obsidian.

But the next moment, something even more startling happened. The moment the Primal Spirit opened her rainbow eyes, a pair of kaleidoscopic, translucent butterfly wings appeared behind her back. They perfectly matched her dress and eyes.

With every flap of her wings, stardust danced into the air like crystallized moonlight, each mote a fragment of celestial grace.

A hint of bewilderment appeared on her cute, tiny face before she moved her eyes confusedly and finally noticed Ace. A deep curiosity, filled with innocence, surfaced, along with a strange hint of mischievousness.

Ace’s scalp tingled. Something about those rainbow eyes stirred an instinct—a silent alarm, but he remained calm as he looked at the now fully awake Primal Spirit.

Although the system had given him enough clues and information, he still had no idea why she was being sealed with the Language of the Ancient God, so he showed utmost caution.

At this moment, the Prime Spirit suddenly performed a unique gesture by flapping her wings twice and making an unknown hand sign.

She then opened her tiny mouth, “Good Morning, Mr. Beggar!” Her voice rang out, which was both clear and melodious, but the language she spoke was completely different. She also sounded very polite, but her words…

‘Did she just call me, Mr. ‘Beggar?’ Ace felt he had heard wrong or misinterpreted this.

Nonetheless, since this Primal Spirit was communicating with him without being hostile, he was relieved, yet he didn’t let his guard down.

“Did you just say ‘Good Morning’?” Ace tried to speak in her language using his comprehension of the Language of Ancient Gods.

The Primal Spirit’s eyes spark with a hint of surprise as the curiosity in them intensified, “Indeed, Mr. Beggar!” She replied.

Ace’s lip twitched this time, ‘She really called me ‘Beggar’ before and then again…’

“Umm, why are you calling a ‘Beggar’? What do you think a beggar is exactly?” Ace decided to seek clearance, and it was also an excellent way to communicate further and get familiar with this Primal Spirit.

Not to mention, he felt agitated for some reason as the Primal Spirit looked at him with those eyes. It was as if she could see something about him.

The Primal Spirit didn’t seem to mind Ace’s question; in fact, she seemed even more curious and happy that Ace was talking with her.

“Oh, a beggar is a person who is typically homeless and lives by asking for money or food. Others pity a beggar because they are reduced to poverty and have very little to their name.”

Ace’s eyes spasmed and forced a smile as he said, “Look, I’m neither homeless nor live by asking for money or food, so I’m not a beggar. We are currently within my own ‘home’, with just this, I didn’t fit the main condition to be a beggar.”

However, the Primal Spirit suddenly shook her head as if disagreeing with Ace, and softly replied as her eyes seemed to become profound, “This multidimensional spatial treasure is excellent, but the two levels below it are filled with trash. The only worthy treasure you have in this spatial treasure is a mysterious tablet and a broken Eternal Provenance Treasure. You also have a treasure that even I can’t comprehend, and this space relates to this treasure.

“But despite all, you have no control over them, they are not yours yet, so you are a beggar, Mister, who is sitting on top of a mountain of gold without having the ability to use it.”

Although the Primal Spirit’s words sounded harmless and calm, Ace, who was listening to them, was anything but calm as a massive storm raged in his heart as he looked at the tiny Primal Spirit as if he were looking at a monster!
