Apocalypse: the Most Ruthless Person

”Yes!”

Li Zongkai quickly responded, eagerly saying: ”The leader of the Survivor Alliance is named Wu Baokang. His past experiences are very extensive, and he was active in border areas for some time, doing mercenary work involving killing. You must be very careful with him, anything he touches could become a weapon!”

Wu Daqiang really wanted to grab the transmitter and say: Chairman, your friend named Zhang Su isn’t a pushover; he almost easily threw Wu Baokang to his death!

Zhang Su chuckled and said: ”Alright, Old Li, thanks for the concern. Is there anything you want to tell Daqiang and the brothers?”

”Daqiang, stay well at Mr. Zhang’s place. He won’t trouble you. If there’s anything you can help with, don’t hold back. We’re all family. Understand?”

Wu Daqiang took the transmitter from Zhang Su’s hand, nodded with a complex expression, and said: ”Yes, Chairman Li, we understand!”

After the call ended, Li Zongkai was wide awake, pacing back and forth in the contact room, as everything had changed, requiring a bunch of new plans.

Squeak.

The sound of a door being pushed opened.

Li Zongkai was startled, looked back, and then breathed a sigh of relief: ”Ah, Xiao Miao...”

A middle-aged man looking about thirty walked into the communication room, wearing a cotton hat on his head and a flashlight pinned to his chest.

”Chairman Li, you’re still working this late. Here’s a hot water bag I just filled for you.”

Guan Senmiao handed over an old-fashioned hot water bag, slightly larger than a palm, holding just over a liter of water.

”Eh, thanks.” Li Zongkai took the hot water bag, warming his hands, and said: ”Is it your shift to patrol tonight?”

Guan Senmiao smiled and said: ”Yes, I’m on the first half of the night today.”

”Hmm...” Li Zongkai absent-mindedly responded.

Seeing Li Zongkai appeared troubled, Guan Senmiao said: ”Chairman, I’ll continue on patrol. You take care.”

”Hmm, go ahead, stay alert and safe.”

After instructing, Li Zongkai continued to immerse himself in his thoughts, unaware that after Guan Senmiao opened the door to leave, he left it ajar and didn’t go far, as he had done before entering.

”OK! The matter is out, you all know my relationship with Old Li now. Settle down on Celestial Horse Island!”

Zhang Su laughed, patting Wu Daqiang and Xiaotiao on the shoulder, then said to Yuwen: ”Old Yu, everyone’s busy, trouble you a bit, take the brothers to find a comfortable place to rest. Remember to take your weapons with you, don’t let us find them and put them in the storage, that’ll be a big loss, haha!”

After jokingly delegating, Zhang Su bid farewell and left, leaving six people standing strangely in the dining room for a while, not moving.

Leaving the dining room, Zhang Su stepped towards the Qingfeng Xiaozhu, where the prisoners were held, but before he got far, someone stopped him.

”Big brother!”

Zhao Dezhu approached with a face of gloom, pointing irritably at the Qingfeng Xiaozhu.

”Damn it, that big guy really needs to be disciplined. Locked up, he’s still unruly, constantly whining, insisting to see you. I asked him what for, he wouldn’t say, just wants to talk with you. His mouth is foul, spewing nonsense non-stop. Beating doesn’t work, we gagged him to shut him up. What do we do?”

Zhang Su, hearing Zhao Dezhu’s words, looked amused yet helpless: ”I was just going to them to inquire about some things. Let’s go interrogate together, see if we can dig up some information!”

”Hey, that’s good. Hey, big brother, what should we ask them? Give me some questions and I’ll ask them one by one!”

Zhao Dezhu showed great interest in the interrogation work.

Tonight was destined not to be quiet on Celestial Horse Island. Usually, by nine o’clock, most people had already nestled in warm beds, but not today. Groups of three or five gathered, chatting about the previous capture of the survey team.

Nearby Qingfeng Xiaozhu, holding prisoners, three people were stationed on duty with a little dog watching in the cliff’s direction, surrounding it from all angles, making escape impossible unless one grew wings!

If someone could fly, they might escape now. In a few days, once Wu Lue finishes modifying firearms onto the drones, escape will truly be impossible!

The performance of the two drones was exceptional, but they lacked attack attributes, a major shortcoming. Wu Lue decided to modify them himself. With excellent payload capacities in cargo drones, weapons could be mounted for attack. Rifles’ recoil was too difficult to manage, but handguns posed little difficulty.

”Brother Su, Brother Zhuzi.”

Lü Leiyang, guarding the Qingfeng Xiaozhu from below, saw Zhang Su and Zhao Dezhu approaching and greeted them.

”Tonight’s arrangements are made, work hard.”

Zhang Su patted Lü Leiyang’s shoulder.

”Not hard at all. In fact, it feels too bland normally, but today’s really interesting, and... Brother Su, the Yama Corps name is really nice, so masculine and impressive!”

Lü Leiyang, lacking in masculinity, liked elements full of manly vibes, whether compensating for his own deficiencies or embracing them from another gender perspective.

”Exactly, big brother, I haven’t had a chance to say it yet, the Yama Corps name is darn genuine. When did you think of it? Didn’t even hint to everyone beforehand, such great confidentiality!”

Zhao Dezhu elbowed Zhang Su, displaying a sly grin.

Many people considered giving their force a name early on, and seeing Zhang Su mention nothing, the group occasionally discussed it.

Zhang Su discreetly rolled his eyes, go to hell with your confidentiality; it’s all thanks to your darn old man!

”Forget confidentiality, just tell me if the effect is explosive enough!”

”Definitely explosive, haha, you are King Yama, we are the Yama Corps, when others hear it, they fear for their lives, haha! I bet when they heard that name, they were terrified!”

Zhang Su remembered how Yuwen spoke earlier. Not knowing how others feel, but he found it far from severe, rather comical.

Lü Leiyang had a flash of inspiration, suggesting: ”Brother Su, do you think someday we could have the Ten Halls of Yama, like the Survivor Alliance’s Vanguard Corps, each hall of Yama leading a group of brothers, so majestic, haha.”

”Hey, Xiaolü, you must say your mind works pretty well, haha, the Ten Halls of Yama is simply brilliant. I’m pre-booking a spot, big brother, save a seat for me...”

Zhao Dezhu raised both hands approvingly of Lü Leiyang’s suggestion.

Zhang Su watched the two jokers in front of him, massaging his temples, and shook his head: ”Enough nonsense, the real issues are unresolved. Let’s go up and interrogate the prisoners first, those matters we’ll have time for later.”

With that, he dragged Zhao Dezhu upstairs, otherwise, the way things looked, he might discuss the Ten Halls of Yama through with Lü Leiyang.

”Big brother, I’ll start from there, that stubborn guy named Wu can probably only be handled by you. Damn, should beat him to pieces!”

Zhao Dezhu finished speaking and headed towards the room where the Apocalypse Corps was held.

Wu Baokang was held in room 202. Zhang Su stood at the door, sensing slightly, detecting that he wasn’t hiding behind the door. He couldn’t sense through doors and walls, even wooden doors would greatly hinder sensing unless the other was stuck right behind.

It’s not that his skills were bad; even Ju Mumio couldn’t do this. It’s a limitation of this sensing ability.

But knowing the other wasn’t ambushing behind the door was enough. Zhang Su took the key, opened the door, checked for safety, then entered. Meanwhile, the white mist surrounding him spread throughout the room like tentacles.

With a snap, Zhang Su turned on the room light. A burly man was bound hand and foot on the bed, mouth gagged with rope, saliva dripping along it, emulating a Japanese-style bondage, naturally the handiwork of Zhao Dezhu.

Zhang Su couldn’t help but twitch his mouth; it seemed the Fish Slaughterer had seen quite a few academic films before!
