Apocalypse: the Most Ruthless Person

”Damn, when we get back, I really need to enjoy myself...”

Brother Liu tugged at his crotch, wearing a wicked smile as he spoke.

The man who had been watching by the window for a while turned back and sat on the ground, lighting a cigarette. He spoke listlessly, ”Let’s aim to finish the job by tomorrow. It’s such a small Celestial Horse Island, is this all necessary...”

”Don’t underestimate people out there. Anyone who can carve out a large territory up north must have some skills.”

”Even if they have skills, it won’t help. When they meet us, the North City Four Tigers, that Celestial Horse is dead.”

”Haha, that’s amusing. Boss Liu would definitely praise you for that.”

The three of them bantered back and forth, unaware of the ghostly figure quietly approaching Beidong Town.

The Civilization Guardian casually picked a three-story shop, settling on the top floor. Once everyone settled in, a man took out binoculars and started looking around from the window.

”Why are we on the first watch? Seriously...”

The man grumbled and complained as he looked around with the binoculars.

Wu Daqiang sat on the ground, hugging his legs. Upon hearing his companion’s complaints, he said, ”We have to keep watch first or last. Xiaotiao, if you’re tired, I’ll do it. You take a rest.”

”It’s fine, I’m not tired. I just think it’s unfair. Brother Wu, you rest. You all shou... hmm?”

As he spoke, the man called Xiaotiao by Wu Daqiang furrowed his brows.

”What’s up?”

Wu Daqiang immediately stood up, and the other three followed suit, staring tensely at Xiaotiao.

”Hmm... that’s strange!”

Xiaotiao didn’t immediately respond. Instead, he studied the thermal imaging binoculars in his hands before saying, ”I thought I saw, no, I really saw something flash past in that field, moving quickly, like a damn startled rabbit!”

”Damn, could it be that the people from Celestial Horse Island noticed us and came to kill us?” a man wearing his down jacket inside-out asked nervously.

”Don’t scare yourself!”

Wu Daqiang took the thermal imaging binoculars from Xiaotiao’s hands, looking outside. He first glanced at the temporary residence of the Little Eagle Association opposite. He could vaguely see someone by the window seemingly doing something unusual based on the thermal imaging. He deduced the person was about to pee and smirked silently, then looked further at the wilderness and northward.

”No movement. Even if the people from Celestial Horse Island came, it wouldn’t just be one, and they wouldn’t just flash by, right? How big was the object you saw?”

About a minute or two later, Wu Daqiang put down the binoculars and asked Xiaotiao.

”It moved too fast, I couldn’t see clearly, about...” Xiaotiao scratched his face furrowed his brows and gestured, ”About the size of a soccer ball?”

”Brother Tiao, do you feel like playing soccer? Haha.”

Someone nearby made a joke, everyone knowing Xiaotiao loved playing soccer the most in the camp.

”Get lost, I’m not joking with you guys!”

Xiaotiao waved his hand, his attitude serious.

Wu Daqiang thought for a moment, handed the binoculars back to Xiaotiao, and said, ”It could really be a small animal. It’s not unusual to have animals in the wilderness. Keep an eye out, and let’s get some rest. If anything happens, call us. Remember to notify the Apocalypse Corps at midnight for watch duty!”

Next door to the Civilization Guardian, members of the Apocalypse Corps were complaining about how the Little Eagle Association sneakily avoided the night watch by going to the opposite side. Little did they know, the Little Eagle Association indeed dodged the night watch but would pay an unbearable price.

”Hey, did either of you bring booze? We definitely can’t start a fire, it’s damn cold! My hot water bottle was filled at the camp, and now it’s barely warmer than piss...”

Brother Liu clutched the hot water bottle in his arms, urinating in the corner by the window. The sound echoed in the messy room. With low quality, he didn’t even consider that he would sleep nearby later. The pungent urine smell was unpleasant, and even taking a lazy step downstairs to pee would have been better.

After speaking, he received no response from his companions, which made Brother Liu puzzled. He then said, ”Xiaobin, I saw you stick several warm patches on your clothes when you came out. Share a couple with your brother, I’ll give you three back when we return, how ’bout it, oh... refreshing.”

Speaking, Brother Liu shivered from the cold wind while relieving himself, feeling goosebumps rise as he pulled up his pants, turning his head, yet still heard nothing from his companion.

”Damn it, you two dead or what? Not saying a word, you were complaining about the cold, now you’re sleeping like a log, damn.”

In the dim night, Brother Liu saw his two companions lying against the wall motionless, so he wobbled towards Xiaobin, intending to take two warm patches from him without asking, however...

Just as Brother Liu’s foot touched Xiaobin’s foot and he was about to crouch down, he felt a sudden heart palpitation. An unsettling pressure was on his neck, along with a cold voice from behind.

”Move and die.”

Feeling as if King Yama was staring from the void, Brother Liu’s bladder inexplicably tightened just after being emptied. Luckily it was already emptied, or else he’d have soaked his pants now.

”Okay, okay, okay, big brother, I’m just passing by, no malice, please, please... uh.”

Brother Liu thought of himself as the top fighter in Little Eagle Association, refusing to be intimidated by some unknown person. After a brief plea, he resisted and tried to shout to wake his companions for a fight.

But before he could raise his voice, his throat was tightly gripped, only weak gasps escaping, before his body was forcefully pinned to the ground, the instant suffocation making him feel as if he saw the Ghost Gate.

”Try anything, and I’ll bleed you with this!”

”Uh... I, I don’t dare anymore.”

Brother Liu rolled his eyes, desperately pleading in disarray. Initially feeling cold, his body now felt scorching with his survival instincts, the cold object on his neck seeming like a red-hot iron brand burning his skin. Despite the sensory mix-up, he dared not move even a bit or raise his voice!

Because lying on the ground, he could already smell the strong scent of blood from nearby. Even without seeing anything, he could guess that his two companions lying quietly on the ground had already reported to Yama Hall!

The mere thought sent his heart into a frenzy. In the time it took to relieve himself, two companions died silently. From the sleeping area to the window was only seven or eight meters, yet in the tranquil environment, not a sound was heard?

Was it because he made too much noise undoing his pants while muttering to himself, masking other sounds...

Brother Liu couldn’t fathom the situation, feeling his brain insufficient while needing to rapidly devise a solution.

”Sit up, bind your hands and feet, and obey, or you’ll join your good friends on the Path to the Underworld!”

Zhang Su tossed a few plastic ties, stiff from the cold, to him.
