The Last Paragon in the Apocalypse

”””””AAAAAGGHHHHH”””””

Painful howls escaped from Klaus and his four bodies, causing everyone present to break into a sudden crashing silence of fear—then they scrambled.

”What is happening?”

Klaus’s skin started to swell, and cracks appeared on his face. From the cracks, blood started to spill.

The same could be said for his four bodies. They all held their heads, saliva pouring from the corners of their lips as they screamed their souls out.

It appeared they were in so much pain that someone with extreme pain tolerance, such as Klaus, was left reeling from it.

Queenie and her sisters tried to rush to his side; however, King Alric stopped them. ”Relax, ladies, he has just consumed the blood essence of a god who had lived for millions of years; there is bound to be some pain involved.”

”But—”

”It is okay, he will pull through,” Queen Leah stepped in. ”While it may not look like it, the blood essence he has consumed contains a slight amount of Supreme Qi. I am sure that is the reason for the pain.”

They sighed; however, as Klaus clutched his head and screamed, they grew worried.

Meanwhile, Goddess Nivara sat before Klaus with a clenched fist. Her cultivation base had drained to the Awakened stage, making her no different from a mortal.

She had none of her previous strength left.

In fact, watching Klaus go through all this pain, she failed to see the rows of text appear before her. If she did, she would have recognized them as the text that appears when one awakens.

However, instead of an already prepared text, this one was more suggestive, asking her to select her class and elemental affinities.

It was as if she had broken the system that manages the status of awakeners.

But that was not of importance to her at the moment. Her grandson, who was the cause of it all, was now in pain, and so she wanted to help him.

But as a mortal, there wasn’t much she could do. However, she is a mother. While two of her children were scum of society, she managed to raise one into a fine warrior. So one could say she has a motherly instinct.

Seeing her grandson in pain, she reached out and held his hand, giving him a gentle squeeze. She may be a mortal, but her body is refined, like a god’s. It had been tempered to this stage, so her gentle squeeze reached Klaus, sending waves of electricity through his body.

This gave him the assurance that he wasn’t alone.

However, he continued to scream for a few more hours before he suddenly stopped. At that point, a new text appeared before his vision.

Klaus let a grin form on the corner of his lips. This sight made his grandma smile, too. It seems her grandson is out of danger. However, she still held his hand and continued to wait for him to finish.

Already, while she didn’t have the sense to see how much stronger Klaus was becoming, she could tell something profound was happening to him.

In truth, those who could see what was happening saw that Klaus had already reached the peak of the Early Immortal stage, while the four bodies had even ascended to the Real Immortal stage.

However, as the seconds passed, they kept leveling up, propelling them to the next realm.

As it happened, the little Divine Qi Goddess Nivara had left in her blood essence was more than enough to aid five immortals in leveling up several times.

It took some time for the Nine Paragon Star Diagram to kick in. But when it did, the result was just as Klaus expected.

His cultivation method is the Nine Paragon Star Art.

It is a complex cultivation method that works on the principles of star mapping and coordination. Every star inside his soul coordinates with the paragon stars, giving him the right amount of push he needed to stand above others.

He had long been cultivating this method, and at every step of the way, he made so much progress with it.

It was this same method that helped him transform his spiritual Qi into Star Qi. Initially, he could only use the first three stars. It turns out the star diagrams are also connected to the Nine Doors located inside his soul sea.

Back when only three were opened, he was allowed access to only the first three forms of the Nine Paragon Star Diagram.

However, things are different now.

All nine doors are now open, so he can utilize the power of all nine nodes in the diagram. This enabled him to refine the Divine Qi and convert it into Star Qi.

The same can be said for the Immortal Qi, which was even more than the Divine Qi. Since she had lost her god core, most of her divine essence was taken away. However, her Immortal Qi was still there.

So while he was benefiting more from her Divine Qi, the Immortal Qi wasn’t paling in comparison at all.

If anything, now that Klaus himself had reached the Real Immortal stage, and there was no sign of running out of essence to absorb, it can be said that the Immortal Qi he had absorbed this time is much more than he bargained for.

The only problem now was the errors he was getting when the Nine Paragon Star Diagram tried to refine the Supreme Qi.

It was as if he were missing something.

The Divine and Immortal Qi had been refined successfully. However, the Supreme Qi was proving a bit stubborn. He had tried several times to make it work, but the error kept appearing.

This made him realize that maybe he isn’t at the stage yet to refine the Supreme essence.

’Damn it.’

He sighed inwardly and was about to resign himself to his fate when something deep within his soul stirred.

Inside his soul sea, the green light he had tried to approach a day ago but failed to stir. It was still unknown and formless; however, it started to awaken.

Outside, Klaus didn’t know what it was or why it was formed.

But at least he knew what it could do. The rows of text appearing before him said it all.
