I Became the Villainess, But My Beast Husbands Can Hear My Mind?!

”And we also can’t hear the mysterious voice inside your head,” Luan added.

Roxanna finally lifted her head and looked at him, her lips slightly parted in shock.

[THEY REALLY CAN HEAR MY MIND?!] Roxanna shouted inside her head, and her heart was instantly filled with panic. [SO THEY CAN ALSO HEAR ALL OF MY DIRTY THOUGHTS!!]

She quickly covered her mouth with both hands the moment that thought crossed her mind. Shaking her head over and over, she blurted out, ”I never think about dirty things! It’s not me! It’s really not me!”

”I-I just lied in my mind!” she added in a rush. ”You have to believe me!”

Luan let out a small chuckle. The way she panicked like that... it was honestly adorable. Still, he didn’t have the heart to tease her when she was this flustered.

In the end, he simply said, ”I believe you.” He paused for a moment, letting his wife calm down. ”I believe you’ve never thought of anything bad in your head.”

Roxanna nodded quickly. ”That’s right! That’s right! My mind is very pure!”

[I just need to think more quietly when I think about those things!] she told herself. Her eyes widened when she realized she had just shouted again in her head. [I need to be quieter... no more shouting... no more shouting...]

After a moment, she spoke again, her voice softer this time. ”But if... if you really can hear my mind, how is that even possible?” she asked. ”Can you hear the evil Roxanna’s thoughts too?”

Luan shook his head. ”No, we couldn’t hear her mind at all. To be honest, we also don’t understand why we can hear your mind. It all happened so quickly and suddenly.”

”Right after I came to this world?” she asked, her expression serious.

Luan nodded. ”I believe so.”

[That’s strange...] Roxanna thought. [Is it because of the system? Is the system the one making them hear my thoughts? Wait... doesn’t the system know everything? Then... doesn’t it already know about this?!]

[Hey, system, answer me! Did you know about this from the beginning?!]

[...]

Silence.

The system didn’t respond to Roxanna’s question at all, a sign that it truly knew about this big secret.

At the end of the day, all of them had lied to her.

”So that’s why...” Roxanna spoke softly, her voice a little low. ”That’s why all of you always know what I want, even when I don’t say it.”

Her expression dimmed slightly. Seeing that, Luan reached out to hold her arm, but she stepped back, as if she didn’t want to be touched by him.

”Roxanna, we never meant to make you feel bad,” he said quickly.

Roxanna didn’t answer him right away, so Luan said again, ”We just didn’t want to scare you,” he added, his voice softer. ”Something like this... it’s not normal.”

She frowned. ”The mysterious voice inside my head isn’t normal either, but I told you anyway.”

”Actually, we were the ones who found out about that voice first, and after that, you told us—” Luan stopped talking when he realized Roxanna’s expression was getting worse, as if she wanted to eat him alive.

”No, you’re right. We shouldn’t have kept this secret from you for so long,” Luan admitted. ”But still... we were worried you might be scared and... decide to leave us.”

”Why would I leave you?” Roxanna asked in confusion.

Luan looked at her, even more confused, as if she had just grown another head. ”Isn’t it obvious? People usually stay away from things that scare them, right? And right now... we’re the ones scaring you.”

Scaring her?

Well, yes, Roxanna didn’t feel happy when she found out her husbands could hear her thoughts. But scared? Was she really afraid of them because of this?

Not really.

Maybe she did want some privacy, but that didn’t mean she would leave them just like that. After all, all this time, when she didn’t know anything, they had never used that ability to hurt her or control her.

[If it were Leon who had this ability, I would definitely be scared to death. But them? I don’t know... they’ve been harmless so far,] she admitted in her mind.

”I... haven’t thought about leaving you because of this,” Roxanna said out loud. ”Or... should I?”

”NO!” Luan answered right away. ”No, no, no! It’s a good thing you’ve never thought about it, and... maybe it’s better if you never do.”

They fell silent for a moment because neither of them had the courage to say anything. The atmosphere between them became awkward, and Roxanna didn’t like that at all.

”So... can you stop that ability sometimes?” she asked, a little unsure.

Luan let out a soft breath and slowly shook his head. ”No. I don’t think we can. I’m sorry.” He paused, then added, ”But if you want some space, we can build a private hut just for you.”

Roxanna pressed her lips together, thinking for a moment before finally saying, ”Okay.”

Luan blinked. ”Okay?”

She nodded. ”Yes. I guess that could work.”

”You’re not angry?” Luan asked.

”I was angry,” Roxanna admitted. ”But... you can’t even control that ability, so I can’t say it’s your fault either.”

Luan stared at her for a moment, as if he didn’t quite believe what he was hearing. ”That’s it?”

Roxanna let out a small sigh and crossed her arms. ”What do you want me to do? Yell at you? Hit you?”

”I wouldn’t mind if it makes you feel better,” Luan said honestly. ”You’re allowed to get angry.”

She paused, then looked at him like he had just said something ridiculous. ”You’re strange.”

[My ex-husband would always get angry whenever I was angry, and here... Luan is telling me to get angry?]

”Because I’m not your ex-husband,” Luan suddenly said. ”I am your husband.”

Roxanna froze. Her eyes widened slightly as she slowly turned to look at him. ”You heard that?”

Luan blinked, as if only now realizing what he had done. ”Yes.”
