I Became the Villainess, But My Beast Husbands Can Hear My Mind?!

”As I said before, her healing ability is a little disturbed because it’s working too hard to protect her body from being drained by her own child.”

That was the first thing Roxanna heard when she opened her eyes. It felt like she had only closed them for a moment, and suddenly she was already lying on the bed, surrounded by her husbands and Aelin.

”Excuse me?” Roxanna’s voice came out soft and slightly hoarse. ”My child is going to eat me alive?”

Aelin was taken aback when she saw Roxanna wake up so quickly from her sleep, but even so, she immediately explained her condition to Roxanna. ”What I mean is, your child needs a lot of nutrition from your body,” she said gently. ”That’s why your healing ability is focused on keeping your child alive. At first, it wasn’t very noticeable because your child was still small. But now that they are growing quickly, your body won’t feel as normal as before.”

It had started with morning sickness. And according to Aelin, it would slowly get worse over time.

”There might be times when you throw up after eating,” Aelin continued. ”But there’s also a chance that won’t happen to you. After all, this is my first time treating a pink fox with such a strong healing ability.”

”That’s why I might also be wrong in diagnosing you,” she continued. ”But honestly, I don’t think my prediction will be that far off.”

Aelin was a great doctor, after all, so she rarely made mistakes in diagnosing her patients, even if they were a new species.

”Can’t you do something to make her feel better?” Azul asked quickly. Right now, he truly felt guilty for having impregnated his wife.

Aelin looked at Roxanna’s husbands one by one before she said, ”To be honest, I can’t give her medicine that will make her feel better quickly since she is like this because her baby needs a lot of nutrition to grow.”

She sighed softly. ”That’s why I can only suggest that you make sure she gets enough rest, eats a lot of nutritious food, and doesn’t get hurt too often.”

Cyrus and Luan exchanged a quick glance. They were both thinking about the time Roxanna had been stabbed by a sharp stone when they fell into the underground cave in the Golden Mountain.

Since Aelin had also noticed them back then, she could understand the meaning of their exchanged glances. ”What happened before won’t affect her condition now,” she said calmly. ”Her healing ability has already taken care of those injuries.”

Her other husbands quietly clenched their jaws. They all knew what had happened in the Golden Mountain. Roxanna would sometimes think about that moment, and Calen was the one who felt the most guilty. After all, she had gone through something so painful just because she wanted to help him.

”We’ll make sure she never lacks anything,” Zeir said firmly. ”And she shouldn’t play in the water for too long either. I don’t want her getting a fever again like today.”

Roxanna immediately protested, ”But playing in the water is really fun! And if I can’t go to the river, how am I supposed to meet Zoey, Mr. Crocodile, and the others?”

Zeir let out a soft sigh. ”I didn’t say you can’t go to the river. I just don’t want you to get into the water or stay wet for too long.”

His crimson eyes slowly shifted toward Azul. ”And I hope a certain someone won’t encourage you to do something that could make you sick again.”

Azul quickly shook his head. ”It won’t happen again. It won’t happen again. I promise!”

Not long ago, Azul still thought letting Roxanna play in the water for a while wasn’t a big deal. But after hearing Aelin’s explanation, he realized just how fragile her body was now. He had to protect her, no matter what.

”She also shouldn’t walk too far,” Cyrus added, glancing at the others. ”That could make her legs hurt, right?”

Luan nodded. ”Cooking is tiring too, so don’t let her go to the kitchen.”

”And what about leading the settlement?” Calen spoke up. ”She gets nervous when she has to talk in front of too many people. Maybe we should let them meet her one by one instead.”

While they continued listing all the things she shouldn’t do, Roxanna puffed her cheeks and let out an annoyed huff because she didn’t like how strict they suddenly became.

[At this rate, they’re going to lock me in this hut like an animal!]

She thought. [I know they’re trying to protect me, but if they’re too strict, I’ll just feel stressed!]

All of her husbands fell silent for a moment. They finally realized that they weren’t much different from her ex-husband, who had always liked to control her.

After a moment, Zeir spoke again, his voice softer this time. ”Maybe... we don’t have to be that strict.”

He looked at Roxanna. ”Just tell us when you feel tired. We’ll take you somewhere safe so you can rest comfortably.”

Roxanna’s eyes immediately lit up, and she praised them in her mind. [My husbands are truly the best! I’ve even forgotten why I was upset with them just a moment ago!]

”Alright, that sounds good,” she said, then she let out a small yawn.

Her yawn grew wider than she expected, her eyes turning slightly watery as her body relaxed again.

”Why don’t you go back to sleep?” Luan said softly, a small smile on his lips. ”We will talk about it later.”

Roxanna, who was still sleepy, simply nodded in response. Within seconds, she had already fallen asleep.

Her breathing slowly became steady, soft and calm, as if nothing in the world could disturb her anymore.

Luan gently pulled the blanket over her body, making sure she was warm enough. His movements were slow and careful, afraid that even the smallest noise might wake her up.

”She fell asleep so quickly,” Cyrus whispered.

”She was already exhausted,” Zeir replied calmly. ”She just didn’t realize it.”
