Chapter 121: Chapter 119: : Demo Class

I kept yawning while following Principal Varek toward the Adept Class Building.

Today was the day I’m about to teach but unfortunately, my soul was still asleep.

My head felt light from lack of sleep after staying awake half the night listening to Silvano lecture me like a disappointed parent.

”Don’t be sarcastic.”

”Try to encourage them.”

”Please don’t insult the students.”

”Normal teachers don’t compare sculptures to roadkill.”

”Stop destroying people’s confidence.”

”Say things like ’good attempt’ instead of ’what abomination is this supposed to be?’”

By the end of it, I almost threw a pillow at him.

Meanwhile the old fox walking beside me looked far too energetic this early in the morning.

”You seem tired, Miss Frostine,” Varek commented pleasantly.

”I was psychologically attacked last night,” I answered honestly.

Varek chuckled. ”I hope you still have the energy to teach, Miss Frostine.”

I yawned again while dragging my feet dramatically across the hallway.

The moment we entered the Adept Class Building, students immediately started whispering.

”That’s Blanca Frostine...”

”She’s really doing the demo class...”

”I heard Principal Varek personally chose her.”

”Miss Belle looked furious earlier.”

”Who do you think will win?”

I ignored all of them while trying not to fall asleep mid-walk when suddenly—

”Master!”

I flinched violently and looked around to see Silvano jogging toward us carrying papers and what looked like emergency supplies.

”Why are you shouting that in public?” I hissed.

”You told me to call you that.”

”Not in front of civilized people!”

He rolled his eyes before handing me a cup. ”Drink.”

I stared at it suspiciously. ”...What is this?”

”Coffee.”

I immediately looked horrified. ”You’re trying to kill me before the demo class starts?”

”It’s just coffee.”

”I don’t drink bitter liquids willingly.”

”You also don’t sleep willingly apparently.”

Before I could reject it further, Gawain suddenly appeared behind us holding another drink.

”My Lady prefers sweet things,” Gawain smiled as he handed me a cup of iced milk instead.

My eyes sparkled instantly.

”See?” I pointed proudly at Gawain while drinking happily. ”This is why he’s my favorite.”

Silvano looked offended.

Without another word, snatched the iced milk straight out of my hands.

”My milk!” I gasped dramatically.

Before I could stop him, he grabbed the coffee with his other hand and mixed the two together.

I stared at the cup in horror.

He had desecrated, ruined, and destroyed a perfectly innocent iced milk.

”My milk...” I whispered weakly like a grieving widow. ”Why would you do this?”

”It’s called balance,” Silvano replied flatly while shoving the cup back toward me. ”Now drink it already.”

I stared at the drink suspiciously. ”...What if I die?”

”Then at least you’ll die awake.”

I sighed dramatically before finally taking a cautious sip.

Then another.

My eyes slowly widened.

”...Wait.”

I took one more sip just to confirm.

”Oh no.”

Silvano frowned. ”What now?”

”I can hear colors.”

Gawain burst out laughing so suddenly he had to hold onto the wall.

”This,” he said between laughs while pointing at me, ”is exactly why I don’t give her coffee in the morning.”

He leaned closer toward Silvano like he was sharing classified information.

”She becomes worse.”

Silvano dragged a hand down his face in immediate regret.

”Why didn’t you warn me she’d become even more unhinged?”

”Because I thought it would be funny.”

”It’s not funny.”

Meanwhile, I was already standing perfectly straight, hair tied into a neat ponytail, and a pair of glasses magically appearing on my face. The exhaustion from earlier had vanished completely.

”Let us begin this academic bloodbath.”

The students standing nearby slowly stepped aside instinctively.

Silvano immediately grabbed my shoulder.

”No bloodbath.”

”Educational massacre then.”

”No,” Silvano said immediately. ”Just teach like a normal beastkin.”

I looked at him blankly. ”Normal isn’t part of my vocabulary.”

”Master,” he said while looking genuinely exhausted now, ”I’m begging you—”

I immediately grinned.

Silvano completely short-circuited.

His entire body stiffened while his face turned completely red and looked away so fast I almost heard his neck crack.

”Urgh! You’re making me crazy!” he snapped while aggressively shoving me toward the classroom doors. ”I don’t care what you do anymore! Just go!”

I giggled shamelessly before dramatically pushing the doors open.

”Good morning, class!” I announced brightly as every student inside immediately turned toward me. ”I am Blanca Frostine, and I’ll be your instructor for today!”

Silence.

The students stared at me in complete shock, because apparently, the rumors and the actual me were not matching at all.

”...Is this really the same Blanca from the rumors?”

”Why does she look so sweet?”

”I thought she bites people.”

”Who the hell started the rumor that she eats students?”

”Wasn’t she the one chasing people with a whip sword last week?”

”That’s probably her twin.”

I smiled angelically while adjusting my glasses.

Meanwhile outside the classroom, Gawain stared at Silvano, who was still visibly red.

”...Don’t even think about it,” Gawain said flatly.

Silvano immediately looked offended.

”It was your fault!” he hissed back. ”If you warned me what happens when she drinks coffee, I would’ve hidden every single bean in this academy!”

Before Gawain could answer, claps suddenly echoed from inside the classroom.

They glanced inside the classroom again only to freeze for the second time that morning.

The atmosphere inside looked less like a demo class and more like a fan meeting.

Blanca was smiling sweetly as she guided one student’s grip on the carving knife, her voice calm and patient in a way that honestly felt unnatural.

”Relax your wrist,” she said gently. ”You’re forcing the angle too much.”

The student nodded so fast he almost gave himself whiplash.

Everyone else inside was staring at her instead of their projects.

One guy was carving while looking directly at Blanca instead of the wood and nearly sliced his own hand open.

Another student had been holding the same hammer in the air for almost thirty seconds straight because he forgot what reality was.

Meanwhile Blanca just kept smiling kindly at everyone like some sort of terrifying caffeine-powered angel.

Gawain slowly looked away from the window.

”...Coffee puts her in a very, very good mood,” he muttered carefully. ”But even I didn’t know she would act like this.”

”It’s like she became a completely different person.”

Inside the classroom, Blanca laughed softly at something a student said.

Three people in the back immediately clutched their chests.

”I understand why students badmouth her,” one quietly whispered.

”They must be jealous of her,” one nodded vigorously.

Silvano took a step away from the door. ”Nope. Absolutely not.”

”Let’s agree,” Gawain said quickly while turning toward Silvano, ”that we are never giving her coffee again. Not even a little.”

”Agreed,” Silvano answered instantly.

That day, the academy developed two completely different opinions regarding Blanca Frostine.

The lower years viewed her like some kind of angel descended from heaven specifically to save their academic lives.

A beautiful, patient, kind instructor who smiled gently while teaching.

”Good job,” she had praised one student kindly during the demo class. ”See? Your lines improved already.”

The poor first-year looked one compliment away from ascending spiritually.

Some students even started calling her ”Miss Blanca” with sparkling eyes while carrying their carving materials around like devoted disciples.

Rumors spread quickly through the lower years.

”Miss Blanca actually teaches properly!”

”She doesn’t insult you for making mistakes!”

”She even praises students!”

”I heard she smiled at someone!”

”I heard she’s beautiful AND talented!”

Meanwhile, the higher years who personally knew me had an entirely different reaction.

”That thing is pretending.”

”She threatened to burn someone’s room before.”

”She called us mosquitoes.”

”She told a student he murdered his own cat.”

”She likes to insult everyone’s work before helping us.”

”She is a lunatic.”

The higher years looked at the lower years with the exhausted expression of war veterans watching innocent civilians walk willingly into danger.

”You don’t understand,” one upperclassman said weakly while staring into the distance. ”That woman is terrifying.”

But the lower years refused to believe it.

”How could Miss Blanca be scary?”

”She even uses encouraging words!”

”She’s so gentle!”

Faculty Office

The video projection finally ended as silence filled the entire faculty office.

Not a single instructor spoke.

Even Dmitri—who usually looked one inconvenience away from strangling someone—was staring at the paused screen with genuine disbelief.

On the holographic display, Blanca Frostine stood at the center of the classroom smiling sweetly while students surrounded her like she was some kind of carving deity descending from the heavens.

The contrast alone was psychologically damaging.

Varek calmly folded his hands together. ”Well,” he said pleasantly, ”I believe we all know who won the demo class.”

Still no one answered.

Mostly because the entire faculty was still struggling to process the fact that the academy’s most troublesome student had somehow conducted the most effective class they had ever witnessed.

One instructor slowly removed his glasses.

”...She taught thirty-seven students how to carve proper foundations in half a day.”

Another looked disturbed.

”One of my students has been with me for two years and still carves potatoes with anxiety.”

Meanwhile at the far end of the table, Bumble looked ready to explode. Her nails digging harshly into her palms while everyone else avoided looking at her directly.

Varek’s expression finally turned cold. ”Anyone in favor of dismissing Miss Bumble Belle from her position as instructor within this academy?”

Every single instructor raised their hand with no hesitation nor pity.

Bumble slammed both hands onto the table so hard the teacups rattled violently. ”This is unfair!”

Varek barely blinked. ”How exactly is it unfair?”

”You’re replacing me with a student!”

”You violated academy regulations repeatedly,” Varek replied coldly. ”Would you like me to list them one by one?”

Bumble’s face twisted. ”I don’t care about that!” she snapped. ”What I’m saying is how can a STUDENT be more qualified than me instead of hiring another Grand Master?!”

Varek suddenly laughed.

The entire room went tense immediately.

”I’ll be honest, Miss Belle,” he said calmly, ”Miss Frostine is more qualified than most of us combined.”

Several instructors quietly nodded.

”Her techniques are absurd.”

”I still don’t understand how she carved energy stones without exploding.”

”She teaches faster than actual professionals.”

”She somehow made students enjoy criticism.”

Varek continued like he hadn’t heard any of them.

”Did you not watch the demonstration properly?” he asked. ”Students who struggled for weeks under your instruction managed to grasp basic forms in mere hours.”

Bumble bit her lip so hard blood slowly dripped down her chin. ”You can’t fire me,” she hissed furiously. ”Because I quit first!”

She violently grabbed the papers on the table and threw them aside. ”What’s so special about this academy anyway?!”

”At least the next instructor won’t sleep with the students,” Dmitri muttered under his breath.

Several instructors immediately coughed to hide their laughter.

Bumble’s face turned completely red. ”You—!”

”Enough,” Varek interrupted coldly.

The pressure in the room shifted instantly.

Even Bumble froze.

Varek leaned back in his chair calmly. ”Leave your academy badge before you go.”

Bumble stared at him in disbelief. ”...You’re really choosing her over me?”

Varek didn’t even hesitate. ”Yes.”
