Global Lords: My Species Can Mutate

Chapter 618: Chapter 612: Li Family Patriarch

Yan Lie and the others were able to ascend to Tier Ten, and Lin You was very pleased.

After all, with the frequent wars recently, Tier Ten and above Lords often fall, so it’s high time for some replenishment.

Conveniently, the founding ceremonies for the three of them are staggered, one in two days, two in three days, so there’s no worry about conflicts.

Lin You thought for a moment, then said to Xu Zhong beside him, ”Go and inform the envoy who sent the invitation that I will personally attend at that time.”

”Yes!”

Xu Zhong responded, immediately bowing and leaving.

Seeing that it was already dark, Lin You put away the invitation and used Instant Teleportation to the palace to rest.

...

Early the next morning.

Lin You woke up early as usual.

However, he did not go to the Realm Border again, after all, they had just slain four Tier Eleven Lords, attracting too much attention from the realm.

For safety’s sake, it’s better to wait until the commotion dies down.

Plus, today is the founding day of the two Duchies under him, as the ones he nurtured, he should personally make an appearance.

Thus very quickly.

Under the service of an attendant, he got up, dressed in his usual outgoing attire, and left the palace.

”Your Majesty, the convoy for your outing is ready and can set off at any time.”

Outside was Xu Zhong, who hastily stepped forward and respectfully said.

On the large square in front of the hall, a well-trained Flying Mount team was arrayed neatly, surrounding a luxurious royal carriage as if fearing no one would know it was the King’s outing.

Lin You glanced over the convoy and immediately waved it off, ”No need, I’ll go myself this time. Just right to see if those two guys have managed the Duchy well.”

Besides Yan Wu, Yin Tiange and their group of five, the sixth and seventh Duchies were also brought up by him from the monthly rankings.

These two people are considered veterans in the Kingdom.

He personally promoted them from Tier Eight, having always helped with regional affairs.

So he simply allocated the territories around their lands to establish a duchy for themselves and recruit lords.

Now it’s been three days since the combined recruitment began, those newly built cities mostly have lords settled, which is why they chose to hold the founding ceremony today.

Just right to see how much progress has been made.

After a brief explanation to Xu Zhong, he directly tore open space and disappeared from the original place.

And at this moment.

In the eastern region of the Holy Protection Kingdom.

In the capital of the newly established Chaoyuan Duchy, people came and went, bustling with activity.

Forces of all sizes rushed in from all directions, swarming into the capital.

In the sky, many teams and lords riding Flying Mounts also joined the ranks on the streets, converging towards the temporarily constructed Imperial Palace in the center of the capital.

The entire capital looked bustling, as if holding a grand festival.

”Quick, quick, quick, set the things properly, supplement anything missing...”

”Your Majesty will soon arrive, hurry and decorate this place...”

Inside the grand hall of the palace, the newly appointed Duke King Song Chaoyuan was continuously shouting, directing the endless stream of attendants around him.

Tables, chairs, and floral decorations were constantly coming in and out, busy figures were everywhere.

At this moment.

An old man in official attire hurriedly ran in from outside.

”Your Majesty, the hour has come, it’s time to change clothes.”

”Oh right, right, right, I have to quickly change and refresh, since the King is visiting in person, we can’t neglect courtesy.”

Song Chaoyuan slapped his forehead, immediately rushing out of the palace following the old man.

Although it was his founding ceremony, he seemed more nervous than anyone else, wanting to handle everything personally.

There was no choice.

He had received news that during the founding ceremony, the Saintly Protection King would personally attend, leaving him little mind to consider so much, afraid something might go wrong.

”By the way.”

Before leaving, he turned back to the old man.

”Also, those guests who came for the congratulations should arrive soon, dispatch more people to receive them, don’t neglect them.”

Among these guests were representatives of various forces as well as some lord friends of his, naturally they couldn’t be ignored.

In short, there was a heap of matters, making everyone in the Chaoyuan Duchy busy yet joyfully stressed.

Because after today.

They would officially become a Duchy, even just thinking about it made one extremely excited.

...

On the other side.

As the whole palace inside and out was bustling.

On a small road outside the capital, a not-so-luxurious convoy of carriages was slowly heading towards the capital.

”Big brother, do you think the Chaoyuan King would fancy a small family like ours?”

Inside the most spacious carriage in the convoy, a man worriedly spoke to the middle-aged man sitting across from him.

”I don’t know either, we can only wait and see.” The middle-aged man shook his head slightly, ”The Chaoyuan Duchy has just been established, it’s the best time to make connections and show one’s face, surely many large forces will arrive.”

”If we want to find a foothold in the Duchy, this event cannot be missed.”

”If luck permits and we manage to link with the Chaoyuan King, our Li Family’s success is just around the corner, we might even develop our family business right here in the capital.”

The more the man spoke, the more excited he became, even showing a look of yearning in his eyes.

For families in cities surrounding the capital, their greatest desire is to relocate their family to the capital.

Even if they just manage to get a small share, it would be enough for them to establish themselves and become one of the top powers within the duchy.

Especially now, as the duchy has just been established and order is still unsettled.

This represents an ”opportunity,” and it’s a rare chance for them to meet the new King.

So besides the well-known major powers, other medium and small forces are all eager to make an impression in front of the new King.

If they’re lucky enough to catch the new King’s favor, they could soar to great heights, and even become a major power is not out of the question.

After all, there are too many forces within the capital.

And it’s a complex and fiercely competitive environment.

External forces trying to break in is not an easy task; one wrong move and they could be devoured with nothing left.

So, to seize this opportunity.

The two brothers set off yesterday, bringing many gifts and making their way to the capital, just to catch a glimpse of the new King and become familiar to him.

And that led to the conversation earlier.

These two are none other than the current Clan Leader of the Li Family, Li Xingtai, and the Second Clan Leader, Li Xingrui.

”Move aside up ahead!”

Suddenly.

As the two were discussing, a shout came from outside.

The convoy jostled a bit and gradually slowed down.

”What’s going on?”

The Li Xingtai brothers poked their heads out of the carriage, looking toward the front of the convoy.

”Reporting to the Clan Leader, there’s a traveler blocking the convoy’s path up ahead. Steward Zhou is sending someone to shoo them away; it will be resolved soon.”

A young servant came running over from the front, respectfully reporting next to the carriage.

This incident made the dozen or so young family members sitting in the other carriages behind stick their heads out, each one showing a look of puzzlement.

They are all the younger generation of the Li Family.

Li Xingtai brought them specifically to see the capital and participate in the upcoming Guard selection in the capital.

This is also an important opportunity to establish connections between the family and the capital.

After all, the selected guards serve directly under the King, and even if one person succeeds in joining the guard, it would be tremendously joyous for them.

In order to rejuvenate the family, Li Xingtai truly put a lot of thought into it and made thorough preparations.

Upon hearing the servant’s report, Li Xingtai frowned suddenly.

”Didn’t I instruct you to be kind to others? If someone blocks the way, just go around them; why chase them off?”

”Go, tell Steward Zhou not to create trouble, focus on the journey.”

”Yes!”

The young servant received the order and dared not disobey. He quickly ran toward the front of the convoy again.

Seeing him disappear among the convoy, Li Xingtai still didn’t feel at ease, so he immediately lifted the curtain and stepped off the carriage.

”Brother, what are you doing? Just leave such a minor matter for the subordinates to handle.” Li Xingrui on the carriage quickly said.

”You don’t understand; this is already the territory of the capital. We could run into other major powers and high-tier experts at any time. It’s better to be cautious.”

With that, Li Xingtai headed toward the front of the convoy without looking back.

Before long, they saw a figure standing at the front of the convoy, surrounded and blocked by several family servants and guards.

This person was none other.

It was Lin You, who had just instantly teleported here, intending to go to the capital of the Chaoyuan Duchy.

Unexpectedly, just as he was about to continue teleporting, a convoy appeared behind him, driving slowly towards him.

Thus, this scene occurred.

”Are you coming from another city?”

Lin You looked with great interest at the convoy before him, not in a hurry to leave.

Just then, Li Xingtai arrived at the front.

Seeing Lin You surrounded, he immediately shouted, ”Everyone, come back! What are you doing, treating this like the Li Family’s territory?”

Having said that, he quickly parted from the convoy and approached Lin You, his face full of apology.

”Young Brother, I’m truly sorry, I didn’t manage my men well and let you be startled.”

His words were very sincere, not seeming to be feigned.

”You’re the leader of this convoy?”

Lin You silently sized him up and immediately figured out his strength, only Tier Eight, likely a medium or small force from nearby cities.

”Yes, I’m Li Xingtai, the patriarch of the Li Family in Huayuan City. May I know your name, young brother?”

Twenty-something, with no discernible strength, dressed fairly decently, and traveling alone.

He must be like them, coming from somewhere else to seek refuge with relatives in the city.

As for strength.

Rather than believing the Other Realm is too high to be probed, Li Xingtai preferred to believe Lin You genuinely had no strength.

After all, he was really too young.

Moreover, the Demons around the capital had long been cleared out. As long as one didn’t randomly venture into the forests, even an ordinary person could travel easily.

”My surname is Lin.” Lin You replied indifferently.

”Oh, so it’s Young Brother Lin, my earlier offense, please forgive me.” Li Xingtai smiled kindly, holding no contempt for Lin You.

Instead, he warmly invited, ”I see you’re traveling alone. Are you planning to go to the capital? If you don’t mind, why not travel with us?”
