Global Lords: My Species Can Mutate

Chapter 306: Chapter 304: Preparations for the Upgrade

Returning to his territory, Lin You

quickly arrived beneath the World Tree.

He excitedly opened the territory interface. Just as indicated, Faith had indeed reached 5000 points.

He then checked the other resources, which were all fully gathered.

However, he didn’t upgrade the territory immediately. Instead, he moved toward the edge of the territory and used the Teleportation Array to transfer into the Main City.

Upon reaching Tier Seven, the Deceitful Willow’s Level would automatically upgrade to Tier Eight as well.

If he wanted to mutate the Symbiotic Moss again, the cost would be ten times the original.

So, he planned to fill up the Symbiotic Moss at Tier Seven before upgrading the territory. This way, all the Symbiotic Moss would upgrade to Tier Eight along with the territory, saving a significant amount of resources.

He came to the Main City because he had put the Vampire Ancestor and Mechanical Cannon Turtle Species Tokens in the system auction a few days ago.

Even though this would cost a 5% fee and miss the chance to trade for other treasures,

the resources gained would greatly enhance his strength. At that point, would he still worry about acquiring treasures?

With these thoughts, Lin You quickened his pace, weaving through the bustling streets to the auction house in the Main City.

Recently, due to the riots of the Holy Sanctuary Demon, the Main City had seen a notable increase in lords, becoming more lively, with even High-tier Lords frequently visible.

As soon as he stepped into the auction hall, a wave of heat hit him, accompanied by a continuous cacophony of shouting.

“Damn it! Outbid again. Raise my bid now!”

“Quick, quick, quick! Only half an hour left until the auction ends. Hurry, get more money!”

“Whoa! The price went up again!”

“Up again? Let me see… Gasp! 15 million!?”

“No way! It’s 16 million now!”

“Are these people crazy? All for just a Rare Token.”

…

The auction hall was filled with exclamations as everyone eyed the auction panel, their eyes fiery with intensity.

To an outsider, it might seem like they were watching some provocative film.

Yet, despite this, more and more lords continued to pour in from outside.

A closer look revealed that over half of them were of the Demon Type.

And a smaller portion was just here for the spectacle.

They had all heard the rumor that a Rare Species Token from the Demon Type had appeared in the auction house.

What is a Rare Species?

They are superior species that surpass ordinary ones.

Owning even one could instantly create a gap between them and other same-tier lords.

Moreover, they are extremely scarce, with many unable to find a way to acquire one.

Now, upon hearing that someone put a Demon Type Rare Token up for auction in the Main City, the Demon Type lords couldn’t sit still and flocked from everywhere.

Even many lords outside the Demon Type came to join the excitement, hoping to snag the token.

After all, few would be willing to sell such valuable items outright; most would trade them for treasures of equal value.

Obtaining one would add significantly more leverage for trades.

So, regardless of the type of their territory,

the auction house was, at that moment, the liveliest place in the entire Main City, rivaling even the quest hall.

“Look! The price increased again!”

“To reach 20 million so quickly is insane!”

“20 million—if I had that, I’d smile even in my dreams.”

“I wonder which big shot is selling something like this.”

“I still don’t even have a few ordinary species, and these pros are selling Rare Species already. So envious!”

“Bro, are you sure you’re not having morning sickness? Drink more hot water.”

The system auction house allows for anonymous auctions to protect both sellers and bidders from any grudges.

Hence, there’s no need to worry about identity leaks.

This anonymity was why Lin You remained so composed.

However, he hadn’t anticipated such a huge reaction to just one Rare Token.

It seemed Rare Species were still far from common.

For someone like him to have three Rare Species was already a rare phenomenon.

Without stopping, he entered the auction hall, opened the auction interface, and checked the token’s status.

In just over twenty minutes, the Vampire Ancestor Token’s price skyrocketed to 25 million.

Especially in the last five minutes, the price surged by 100,000 with each bid, the bids coming in rapid succession without pause.

“30 million!”

Suddenly, a shout emerged from the crowd.

The bidders felt a jolt, eyeing the remaining time—just over a minute left.

“Quick! Raise the bid!”

“We must win this token!”

“Prepare to go all-in!”

At this moment, the Demon Type lords in the hall went all out, feverishly raising their bids.

Some even directly entered their maximum bid, waiting for the final moment.

The auction house was a flurry of activity, with the token’s price soaring rapidly.

From 30 million, it shot up to 31… 32… 33 million…

Seeing this rapid ascent made Lin You beam with joy.

“Keep bidding, the fiercer, the better.”

The 30 million price was already his expectation, yet it continued to rise.

Apparently, there were many wealthy people on the continent.

It’s also thanks to the Demon riots drawing many idle High-tier Lords to the Main City, significantly boosting purchasing power.

Finally,

amidst the Lords’ breath-taking calls and bids, a crisp “ding” sounded, signaling the auction’s conclusion.

Simultaneously, a prompt chimed in Lin You’s mind.

[Congratulations, the “Vampire Ancestor (Rare Token)” has been successfully auctioned.]

[Selling price: 40.2 million. After a 5% fee deduction, you receive 38.19 million.]

[Magic Energy has been credited to your resources. Please check on your own.]

…

Nearly forty million Magic Energy!

Lin You was overjoyed, this was much more than he had expected.

Adding the money from selling the Mechanical Cannon Turtle, and his current remaining twenty million, along with the funds in Yellow Sand City, it was almost 65 million.

At the rate of 400,000 for each Symbiotic Moss, creating over a hundred was not a problem!

“Finally, I can upgrade.”

Lin You let out a long breath.

There are still 22 days until the Battlefield of Ten Thousand Realms, completely enough time for him to study Tier Eight Species and undergo mutation.

And upgrading from Tier Eight to Tier Seven is quite different, it’s not a grand tier jump, so there likely won’t be much change.

“Damn! I actually failed the auction!”

“Who the hell suddenly raised the price at the last minute? Stand out!”

“It’s unbelievable, reaching over 40 million!”

“What a pity for such a Rare Token, I wonder who finally won it.”

“Someone who could put up so much money at once must be ruthless.”

“That guy is probably laughing like crazy.”

After the auction ended, the Lords were constantly discussing, some were cursing in disappointment, missing out on a rare chance to get a Rare Species.

After all, 40 million Magic Energy is not something anyone can casually afford.

It’s either cobbled together barely enough.

But if anyone profited the most, it was undoubtedly Lin You.

Ignoring the Lords’ discussions, after checking the Magic Energy, he directly left the auction hall and hurried to the Teleportation Plaza.

Very soon.

He teleported back to the territory, arrived under the World Tree, and began making preparations for the upgrade.

The first thing he did was deport all Species that hadn’t reached Tier Eight.

Leaving only 145 Moss, 7 Royal Family, 1 Demon King Dragon and 1 Demon Consort Dragon each, 1 Blood Gu Dandelion, and two Tier Eight Devouring Flowers.

After some reshuffling, 143 recruitment slots were immediately freed up.

[Recruiting Tier Seven Deceitful Willow requires consuming 2500 Magic Energy, would you like to continue?]

“Continue.”

[Please select recruitment number.]

“143.”

Swish!

A large burst of light illuminated half of the territory, filled with Deceitful Willows.

Subsequently, Lin You began mutating them one by one to create a moss army.

His plan was.

Tier Eight’s 500 species slots, plus 100 slots enhanced by Divine Fragments.

To create 300 Symbiotic Moss and 250 Reproduction Species.

The remaining 50 slots, reserved for Royal Family and various non-reproducing auxiliary species.

Now that the territory hasn’t been upgraded and species slots are insufficient, he can only create as many Symbiotic Moss as possible.

As for the Reproduction Species’ main body, they need to wait until the Tier Eight upgrade, starting with a batch recruited via Deceitful Willow.

Although not as dominating as Reproduction Species, they’re all Tier Eight Species, at least not weaker than before.

When the Tier Eight form of Blade Grass is figured out, and enough Magic Energy is gathered, mass production of Reproduction Species can commence for replacement.

With this in mind, Lin You sped up, focusing on mutating the species before him.

Not until the afternoon.

Did he finish mutating all 143 Symbiotic Moss.

Magic Energy had around 7 million left, a little less than expected.

But it doesn’t matter much, it’s enough to recruit Tier Eight Species to get through this period.

After checking thoroughly for oversights, Lin You finally took a deep breath and slowly approached the World Tree.

After so many days of preparation, he was finally going to upgrade to Tier Eight.

Without hesitation, he clicked on the upgrade option directly.

[Resources required for Tier Eight upgrade have been gathered, would you like to upgrade the territory?]

A cold prompt echoed in his mind.

“Upgrade!”

Lin You responded in a deep voice.

The next second.

The entire territory was enveloped in a dazzling light, starting to shake violently.

Even the surrounding ground gradually emitted a rumbling sound.

“What’s happening? An earthquake?”

“Why did it suddenly light up over there?”

“It looks like it’s coming from the Lord’s territory direction!”

In Yellow Sand City, exclamations were heard one after another, everyone stopping to look towards Lin You’s territory, seeing the World Tree wrapped in light.

Even Yue Daonan, the Tier Nine Cultivator secluded deep in the forest, was alarmed, darting into the city.

“Elder Yue!”

The hurrying Wei Gang quickly spotted Yue Daonan and hastened to his side.

On usual days, it was Yue Daonan who taught them cultivation, so they had immense respect for him.

Yue Daonan nodded at them and then looked toward the direction of the World Tree, with a pensive expression.

“Judging by this, the Lord is advancing to Tier Eight.”

“Tier Eight!?”

Wei Gang and the others were shocked inside, also looking at the World Tree.

Elder Yue, being a Tier Nine powerhouse, naturally had far superior perception in this area.

If he said it was advancing to Tier Eight, then there was no mistake.

Making each of them unable to restrain their agitated breathing.

Their Yellow Sand City.

Was going to upgrade to a Tier Eight territory!
