Global Lords: My Species Can Mutate

Chapter 289: Chapter 287: Devouring, an Unexpected Delight

“Go, blow up their back row.”

Lin You shouted at the Mushroom Demon King in the sky.

The Mushroom Demon King understood, immediately changed direction, flew over the Undead’s lineup, and threw down handfuls of Explosive Mushrooms.

“Boom boom boom—”

The violent explosions resounded in his ears.

Lin You was astonished to discover that those Undead Priests were still alive!

They were shielded by the Skeleton Soldiers they summoned, leaving shattered bones everywhere.

“Tch.”

Lin You clicked his tongue, frowning.

The higher the tier of the demon, the higher its intelligence indeed.

They even knew to use summoned creatures to block the explosion damage.

And he couldn’t just have the Mushroom Demon King go deeper; if all the demons inside were drawn out, it would be difficult to handle.

“Cyan Gang!”

Without hesitation, he shouted forward.

Cyan Gang received the order, roared angrily at the sky, launching a Barbaric Roar.

Suddenly, a red light rose from all the plants, finally surpassing the Undead Monks in attributes.

The other Ancient War Trees seemed to receive a signal and collectively activated War Trample, charging into the demon group.

The Ancient Natural Trees summoned large patches of Tree Demons, merging with the Skeleton Army summoned by the Undead Priests.

Swoosh!

Swoosh!

Swoosh!

Led by Cyan Rattan, the Banshee Vines also took action.

The vines covering the ground drilled into the earth, suddenly bursting out from beneath each Undead Monk, entangling them all.

With the combined onslaught of the Pea Shooter’s continuous fire and the aerial bombardment of Explosive Mushrooms, a breach was finally opened.

Taking advantage of this opportunity.

The three Blade Shadow Lions in the team immediately activated the Shadow Skill, turning into fleeting shadows as they darted towards the Undead Priests at the back.

“Slash!”

The white blade light traced a crescent arc, easily slicing through the necks of several Undead Priests, causing their heads to instantly separate.

One-hit kill!

Indeed.

For mage-type back rows, you need assassins to cut through.

Seeing the other Undead Priests turning to target the three Blade Shadow Lions, Lin You swiftly invoked the Power of Rule, forming several Turtle Shield Mirror Walls in front of them.

“Crack!”

A crisp sound echoed.

The Turtle Shield Mirror Walls shattered upon impact, crushed by the Arrow Rain.

The difference between Tier Seven and Tier Eight Power of Rule is evident; even with the support of two Divine Fragments and the Territory Aura, it only held for a moment.

However, this pause allowed the three Blade Shadow Lions an opportunity to react, retreating smoothly to the team.

At this point.

The effect of the Barbaric Roar just ended.

The plants’ aura weakened, returning to its original state.

Yet, despite this, the previous explosive assault gave Lin You an extremely favorable situation, resurrecting over a hundred Tier Eight Immortal Flowers.

“%%…%&#￥…￥@%”

As if aware of their disadvantage.

The remaining Undead Priests all raised their Magic Staffs, chanting a series of complex spells.

In an instant.

The fallen Undead Monks stood back up, transforming into skeletons.

Even on the adjacent bare ground, the soil loosened, and one Tier Eight Skeleton Axe Warrior after another emerged.

In no time at all, the gaps left by those just slain were filled again.

[Name: Skeleton Axe Warrior]

[Race: Undead]

[Level: Tier Eight (A-level)]

[Power: 1600 (+1120)]

[Constitution: 1600 (+1120)]

[Agility: 1600 (+1120)]

[Spirit: 1600 (+1120)]

[Skills: Chop, Tearing Bite, Jumping Slash]

[Chaos: All Attributes increased by 70%]

[Introduction: The most common skeletons in the Undead Realm, with low combat power but vast numbers.]

Just as the introduction described.

The summoned Skeleton Soldiers didn’t have high attributes, nor strong skills, but their sheer number was a headache for Lin You.

Most importantly, these skeletons are summoned creatures.

Once dead, they cannot be resurrected into Immortal Flowers through the Undying Domain, which is quite a hassle.

Indeed, the more you deal with the Undead type, the trickier it becomes.

Lin You had no choice but to have the plants continue their attack, while Cyan Rattan accumulated Bloody Frenzy.

Although the Rotting Blood from the zombies isn’t as beneficial as fresh blood, it’s a boost nonetheless, better than nothing.

Thus.

Under the suicidal self-destructive tactics of the Immortal Flowers, it took a full twenty minutes for Lin You to finally eliminate all the Undead Monks and Undead Priests outside the iron fence.

Meanwhile, Lin You’s side also lost over a hundred Reproduction Species.

After all, the Reproduction Species didn’t have the Symbiotic Moss support.

Their attributes were still somewhat low.

Conversely, all the entities with moss support remained intact.

This was thanks to the Natural Barrier and Desperate Secret Treasure, significantly enhancing the survival ability of the Multiplication Entity.

“Go, devour those corpses.”

After checking the team situation, Lin You directly instructed the eight Devouring Flowers beside him to consume the corpses of the Undead Priests.

After some chewing, success notifications for the devouring echoed in his ears.

[Devouring successful, acquired skill “Undying Domain”…]

[Devouring successful, acquired skill “Undying Domain”…]

[Devouring successful, acquired skill “Undying Domain”…]

…

Seven consecutive prompts, all copied the Undying Domain skill.

But what Lin You didn’t expect was.

At the eighth prompt, it suddenly changed.

[Devouring successful, acquired skill “Undead Arrow Rain”, due to type transformation, skill changed to “Corrosive Arrow Rain”.]

[Corrosive Arrow Rain (Active): Gather a large cloud of dark clouds in the sky, rain down arrows with strong corrosive power, and reduce enemy defense by 10%, lasting 10 seconds, with a cooldown of 60 seconds.]

What the heck?

He actually devoured this skill?

What’s more, it’s a large-scale group attack skill?

This is simply a pleasant surprise.

Lin You’s eyes lit up.

He had just witnessed the power of the Undead Arrow Rain firsthand, even the Ancient Tree Legion under the blessing of a Secret Treasure was easily breached, showing how formidable it was.

The most important thing is, it’s a continuous group attack skill.

Also, it comes with an extra armor-piercing effect!

No wonder it broke through the Ancient Tree’s defense so easily, turns out that’s what happened.

With this in mind, his devouring plan needs a revision.

Devour ten Devouring Flowers, keep five for copying the Undying Domain skill, and change the rest to Corrosive Arrow Rain, making it much easier to break through the front lines in the future.

Thinking of this, Lin You immediately instructed the other Devouring Flowers to continue devouring.

Then, a series of devouring prompts sounded again.

Results took Lin You by surprise.

After all the Undead Priests were devoured, only one successfully copied the Corrosive Arrow Rain skill.

Counting the one from before, that’s just two altogether.

“This probability is a bit low.”

Lin You muttered, furrowing his brows slightly.

Looks like he needs to find another batch of Undead Priests to devour.

No choice, he had to bring the plants and continue forward, approaching the iron fence of the church.

This church, who knows how long it’s been abandoned.

A row of iron fences had already been corroded to black, with some places even having large holes eaten away, looking battered and worn.

Lin You reached out to touch the fence, with a crack, it snapped directly, even more fragile than imagined.

This probably has at least a hundred years of history, maybe even longer.

His gaze passed through the fence looking inside, all he saw were Undead Monks and Undead Priests roaming among the courtyard flowerbeds, roughly six or seven hundred in number.

The entire courtyard was shrouded in a black mist, making it hard to see the appearance of the church clearly.

But faintly, Lin You saw two gigantic figures lingering outside the church gates, nearly ten meters in size.

With each step, a heavy footstep echoed, causing the ground to tremble slightly.

Could they be Leader Demons?

Lin You’s eyes lit up.

The death aura in this place is so dense, with so many Undead Monsters, it’s not impossible to have a couple of Leader Demons.

Even the gatekeepers are Leader Demons, surely there’s some treasure inside the church.

Without hesitation, he led the Plant Army and began searching outside the iron fence.

Soon, he found a large corroded opening, large enough for the plants to pass through.

However, he did not recklessly enter the courtyard.

Instead, through a spiritual connection, he summoned the Banshee Vine.

Then.

Large swathes of creeping vine tendrils slithered across the ground, passing through the fence, slowly extending into the courtyard.

“Roar!”

At this moment, a few Undead Monks closest to the fence also noticed them, suddenly roaring, seemingly trying to signal their companions.

“Take action!”

Of course, Lin You wouldn’t give them the chance to report.

With a low shout, the vines on the ground surged violently, amidst the swishing sound of air being cut, they directly wrapped around the bodies of those Undead Monks, dragging them out.

No matter how they struggled, there was no way to break free from such a large number of vines.

As soon as they were pulled outside the fence, they were immediately swarm-attacked by the plants, killed instantly on the spot.

[Killed Tier Eight Demon, gained 1000 points of Magic Energy.]

[Killed Tier Eight Demon, gained 1012 points of Magic Energy.]

…

Killing Tier Eight Demons can earn around 1000 points of Magic Energy, with the amount fluctuating according to the demon’s strength.

Counting the ones killed outside just now, Lin You had already gained over 300,000 Magic Energy.

But what’s most important is his species’ experience.

With the addition from the Forest Sage, Tier Seven Species almost reach maximum value.

And the Royal Species, apart from the final upgrade of the Big Cannon, also accumulated to nearly 3000.

This rapid growth is all thanks to continually slaying Tier Eight Demons lately.

The Royal Species, with half experience gained, have also seen an increase in average attributes.

From around two thousand points increased to two thousand two or three, strengthening their power significantly.

Bear in mind.

Even for rare species with maximum experience, the average attributes are usually at this level.

Not to mention the Royal Species, which also have strong skills and innate full value attributes.

Not comparable to rare species.

The only concern Lin You has is the upgrade resources for the Royal Species.

According to what Ji Yunshuang mentioned earlier, after Tier Seven, the resources required for each level increase grow geometrically, making Lin You fear there won’t be enough resources to upgrade the Royal Species.

For now, it’s fine, as he hasn’t felt the issue yet.

But what happens after Tier Nine?

At that point, he could directly recruit Tier Nine ordinary species, but the Royal ones would require resources for upgrading.

He could only hope the resources needed won’t be too much.

He can accept if the Magic Energy multiplies by ten or even twenty-fold, but for Territory Essence, that would be quite challenging.

After all, the higher tier the Lord, the harder they are to kill, making acquiring Territory Essence far from easy.

It seems he needs to quickly figure this matter out.
