Chapter 1506: Chapter 1507: An Unexpected Visitor

Diana’s face showed a hint of joy.

These days, she’s visited many hospitals, but none could diagnose the mysterious illness in her body.

Only Diana herself could clearly feel her health deteriorating.

She had already given up hope, until she unexpectedly met Lin Chen in Chinatown.

”Handsome, what do you think about treating my illness?” Diana smiled.

Lin Chen smiled faintly: ”The parasite in your body is naturally afraid of the cold. I simply need to expel it from your body.”

”That simple?” Diana was stunned upon hearing Lin Chen’s words.

”Of course, sometimes the simplest and most direct method is the best,” Lin Chen smiled.

”How confident are you?” Diana asked nervously.

”Ninety percent sure,” Lin Chen replied with a smile.

”Hmm! What do I need to do?” Diana’s blue eyes looked at Lin Chen and asked.

”What!” Diana’s face blushed slightly at Lin Chen’s words.

Lin Chen smiled slightly: ”Of course, how else would I expel the poison?”

”This!” Diana hesitated a bit.

”Isn’t there any other way?” Diana asked, her face slightly red.

”No, by the way, this parasite is called the Seven-Step Worm, and those bitten by it will bleed from the eyes, neck, mouth, ears—any place with an opening. It’s very terrifying,” Lin Chen said with a smile.

”Ah!” Diana’s face suddenly changed upon hearing Lin Chen’s words.

Imagining herself bleeding from her eyes, nose, mouth, and ears was unbearable for Diana.

Lin Chen smiled faintly: ”Of course, that’s just the first step; there’s a second step.”

”What? What happens in the second step?” Diana asked with a grim face.

Lin Chen smiled faintly: ”In the second step, your body will feel itchy. Soon, it’ll spread all over your body, becoming unbearably itchy, and you’ll scratch yourself until your skin breaks...”

”Alright, alright, stop it,” Diana turned pale and couldn’t help covering her ears.

What Lin Chen described was too terrifying; she’d rather die than become such a horrific sight.

”And that’s just the second step, there are five steps in total,” Lin Chen teased.

”Alright, alright, I don’t want to listen anymore, I’ll proceed with the treatment,” Diana couldn’t take it any longer; the more she listened, the more horrified she became.

”Since you agree, let’s start then.”

”Alright, go wait for me in the bedroom,” Diana whispered.

Lin Chen nodded, sitting on the bed, waiting for Diana.

After a while, Diana emerged from the bathroom.

”Let’s start,” Diana said, feeling a bit shy.

Although shy, Diana bit her lip, about to proceed... but just then, there was a knocking sound from outside.

”Damn it!”

The momentum Lin Chen had built was instantly shattered by the knock on the door.

Who would come knocking at such an inopportune time?

Diana was also a bit embarrassed and quickly said, ”Sorry, it must be a visitor, I’ll go check.”

Lin Chen nodded: ”Alright.”

Following Diana to the living room, through the monitor they saw a man outside holding flowers, Diana’s face grew a bit displeased.

”Why is it him?”

On the monitor was a young man in his twenties, dressed in a sharp suit, with neatly combed golden hair that gleamed brightly in the sunlight.

Diana opened the door, her face a bit cold, and said to the man, ”Hans, why are you here.”

Hans’s eyes lit up upon seeing Diana, a smile appeared on his face: ”I heard you were sick, so I came to see you. Those Chinese people are simply too awful. One day I’ll be like my grandfather, invade China, and kill all those trash.”

Hearing Hans’s words, Diana raised an eyebrow: ”Hans, I don’t understand what you’re saying, and I don’t like violence. I’m very busy, you should leave.”

As Diana was about to close the door, Hans used his hand to stop it.

”Diana, don’t you understand my feelings? I heard you were poisoned in China. I’ve found several doctors, and I just found an expert from the Island Nation who can treat your illness. I’ve gone above and beyond for you.”

”Above and beyond? Sorry Hans, our relationship isn’t that deep,” Diana said calmly.

”Diana, no matter what, don’t reject me. The doctor said there’s a fifty percent chance of curing your illness,” Hans said excitedly.

Fifty percent?

Diana suddenly laughed. Lin Chen had just said he was ninety percent sure. Naturally, she trusted Lin Chen more.

Both Hans and Diana were international police officers and colleagues. Hans was notorious as a playboy in the police force, always trying to pursue Diana, partly because of her looks and partly because of her background.

He knew that if he managed to win over Diana, his promotions in the international police would skyrocket, unlike others who had to work hard for years.

Diana was well aware of Hans’s thoughts, and he was selfish, devious, and had murky relationships with many female colleagues. There was no way Diana would be with someone like that.

”Hans, I’ve told you many times already, we are not possible. As for the treatment, thank you, but I don’t need it anymore. You have plenty of women around you, so you don’t need to bother me,” Diana said coldly, directly issuing an eviction order.

However, Hans wasn’t angry at all. Instead, he said passionately, ”Diana, even though I have many women around me, they’re the ones clinging to me. My heart is only for you!”

Seeing Hans like that, Diana almost vomited. She’d seen thick-skinned people before, but never to this extent.
