Super Strong Little Divine Farmer

Chapter 312: Chapter 312 Su Wentian

Lin Chen only knew after looking at the documents that the person he was supposed to protect was none other than the third son of the Su family from Capital City, who had disappeared, and was also the father of Su Xiaobei, Su Wentian.

In his days, Su Wentian was known as the most ruthless person amongst the aristocratic families. Once, to stand up for his younger brother, he killed a member of the Zhou family, which gave the Zhou family an excuse to start a fierce crackdown on the Su family.

Later, it was strange how Su Wentian suddenly vanished from the face of the Earth, and the Zhou family’s retaliation against the Su family also abruptly stopped. For many years, the Su family had been standing firm at the top of second-tier families, unshaken by anyone.

Many people thought it was the achievement of the old patriarch of the Su family, but actually, it was all brought by Su Wentian.

Back then, Su Wentian accepted a secret mission to preserve the Su family and had been gone for over a decade.

During those years, Su Wentian relied on his ruthlessness and economic acumen to establish Huitong Group overseas. After his management, the company now has assets worth ten billion, and most importantly, he had become the eyes of Huaxia overseas with his identity and status.

It was only recently that his identity was exposed, which is why he took the opportunity of this summit to withdraw back to Huaxia. When the hostile forces discovered his identity, infuriated, they put a high price on his life, which led to Long Yi inviting Lin Chen to come out of retirement and protect Su Wentian.

After reading the documents, Lin Chen realized the magnitude of this task.

”Lin Chen, I’m counting on you this time,” Long Yi said earnestly.

Nodding his head, Lin Chen pondered for a moment and suddenly said, ”I think we shouldn’t just defend, but take this opportunity to root out the spies from the Zhou family hidden in Long’s team, and if possible, remove the malignant tumor that is the Zhou family.”

Upon hearing Lin Chen’s words, Long Yi’s eyes lit up, ”Do you have an idea already?”

Lin Chen nodded and whispered a few words in Long Yi’s ear.

Long Yi’s eyes lit up, and he slapped Lin Chen heavily on the back, ”Kid, you really have a way.”

After sending Long Yi off, Lin Chen called Tan Long, ”Brother Long, there’s a big gig, are you in?”

”What big gig? Recently, those demons and ghosts seem to have disappeared; there’s hardly any work,” Tan Long said somewhat gloomily.

”I’ve got a job here, quite simple, just to protect someone,” Lin Chen said.

”What? Protecting someone? No way, no way. We’re a demon hunting team, not bodyguards! It’s a matter of principle!” Tan Long immediately refused.

”Uh, forget it then. I heard this job pays several million, and oh, it’s in US dollars!” Lin Chen sighed.

”What did you say? Several million? And in US dollars?” Tan Long’s voice suddenly changed pitch.

”Well, captain, I passed on it then,” Lin Chen said with a laugh.

”No, no! Lin Chen, I think always killing demons is a bit too boring. Protecting a hostage occasionally can be quite good too,” Tan Long hurriedly said.

”What about your principles, Captain?” Lin Chen said cheerfully.

”Principles? Can they be eaten? I’m taking this mission, and I’ll fight anyone who tries to steal it from me,” Tan Long declared, determined to win.

”Alright then, gather your men and see you at the airport in an hour,” Lin Chen said, laughing as he hung up the phone.

...

An hour later, at Capital City Airport, when Lin Chen and a few others rushed there, the airport was already surrounded by many people.

There were government officials from Capital City, social elites, and members of the Su family.

In the crowd, Lin Chen immediately spotted Su Xiaobei, who looked slightly tense.

Lin Chen had changed his appearance and was no longer looking like his original self. He approached her smiling, ”Miss Su Xiaobei, I am your father’s personal bodyguard this time, Chen Lin!”

”Chen Lin, you feel very familiar to someone I know?” Su Xiaobei glanced at Lin Chen and blinked.

Lin Chen felt a bit frustrated internally. He had changed into another person’s appearance, yet this girl still sensed something odd.

Lin Chen gave an awkward smile, ”How could that be possible? This is our first meeting.”

”Yeah, that’s true. Maybe I just miss him too much. Thank you, Mr. Chen,” Su Xiaobei said with a smile.

Lin Chen was at a loss for words, not expecting that the young girl had developed feelings for him as well.

”Why do you seem a bit nervous?” Lin Chen deliberately changed the subject.

Su Xiaobei shook her head, ”Nervous? Why should I be nervous? I just want to know why, after all these years, he has been so heartless. My mother has always been ill, yet he wouldn’t spend a penny of his billions to treat her.”

”Xiaobei, your father must have his reasons,” Lin Chen advised.

”Humph, reasons! I think he has simply forgotten about us,” Su Xiaobei snorted coldly.

”Xiaobei, sometimes as a man he must bear some responsibilities. Having a family he can’t return to, relatives he can’t acknowledge, he suffers more than anyone,” Lin Chen continued to counsel.

Su Xiaobei didn’t respond, lost in thought.

Lin Chen shook his head helplessly. Over the years, Su Wentian had always hidden his identity, never having any contact with the Su family in Capital City, nor did anyone know that this globally prominent business tycoon was actually Su Wentian of the Su family.

For Capital City, Su Wentian had sacrificed so much—this was also the main reason why Lin Chen decided to become his bodyguard. For his country, he abandoned his family, giving up the happiness that should have been his. Such a person deserved respect, worth all the blood and sweat Lin Chen would give for him.

Although Su Xiaobei verbally expressed only hatred for Su Wentian, from her eyes, he saw a deep-seated longing for the father she had never met. After all, blood is thicker than water—how could she not want to see her father!

Soon after, an elderly man in a suit, flanked by several bodyguards, descended from the airplane.

Su Wentian looked up at the blue sky, took a deep breath, and said, ”I, Su Wentian, have finally returned to the embrace of my homeland.”

At that moment, Su Wensheng, the eldest of the Su family, hurriedly ran over, ”Brother, I’ve missed you so much.”

The two brothers embraced each other, weeping for joy.

Many people thought that Su Wentian was the villain of the Su family, and thus Su Xiaobei and her mother had always been despised by the Su family. But only recently had her father revealed the truth to her. It turned out that the Su family had withstood many crises over the years because of the support from this third brother of the family.

After exchanging a few cordial words, Su Wentian suddenly turned his gaze to Su Xiaobei.

He quickly walked up to her, his hands trembling as he took Su Xiaobei’s hands, ”Xiaobei, you must be Xiaobei. You look so much like your mother.”

Su Xiaobei looked at the man in front of her, and for some reason, the resentment in her heart suddenly vanished at that moment.

”Xiaobei, I’m sorry, I’m sorry to you and Feng Yun. This time I’ve brought the world’s best doctor to make sure your mother gets well,” Su Wentian said as he held Su Xiaobei tightly, tears streaming down his face.

”Dad...” Su Xiaobei softly called out.

Lin Chen’s words had opened her heart, and finally, she accepted her father.

”My darling girl!” Su Wentian gently stroked Su Xiaobei’s hair, unwilling to let go.

Then, Lin Chen, who had disguised himself, came over smiling, ”Mr. Su, welcome back to the motherland. I am your personal bodyguard for this summit, Chen Lin.”

Mr. Su finally let go of Su Xiaobei, turning to Lin Chen with a smile, ”Thank you, Mr. Chen Lin.”

”Mr. Chen Lin, I have a request. I would like to visit my wife in the hospital first, if that’s possible?” Su Wentian suddenly said.

”This...” Lin Chen frowned. The hospital environment was complex, and it could be very dangerous if someone mingled in the crowd.

”Mr. Chen, please,” Su Wentian pleaded earnestly.

Lin Chen took a deep breath and said, ”Alright, I agree.”
