Blacksmith of the Apocalypse

Chapter 1501. Evee of Minas Mar

“Oh, right. That’s what you guys call Urth,” Evee remembered the information, it just wasn’t on her mind. She was surprised the boss was able to react to her attack. She had used to appear right in his face, and he was still able to block and counterattack. Lv.172 with stats like a boss monster really was not a joke.

“Are you the one controlling these beasts?” the family head suddenly asked. The gaze of cold wrath in his eyes gave Evee an idea. If that guy jumped into battle, she would lose a lot of the undead. Although she didn’t really care for them, it was not easy to assemble a number of this level. There was no reason to sacrifice them just to buy time.

“Yes, that’s me. I’m Evee of Minas Mar, and I’m here in order to take revenge for the people of Urth you kidnapped and killed,” the chosen of Persephone announced proudly. Cruelty and determination joined the wrath in the family head’s eyes.

“I’m Ye Mer, head of the Southern Ye Family. I will be taking your head for this transgression,” he said solemnly. No denial, no explanation, he only cared for the fact that she was the one responsible for this situation. Exactly as Evee expected.

The necromancer had successfully pulled Ye Mer’s aggro and distracted him from the ongoing slaughter below. Of course, the cultivator probably thought it was the quicker way to kill the one who controlled them. Of course, this was a conclusion based on incomplete information.

Ting!

“Whoa, you are a quick one!” Evee taunted, as the leader instantly attacked her after he finished speaking. The fine blade of Ye Mer hit the gauntlet forged from , without so much as leaving a mark. Although the immortal witch was unfazed by the impact, the ray under her feet wasn’t.

“W-whoop!” she exclaimed, losing her footing. Ye Mer had already recovered his sword, and his next strike was coming for her neck.

She used the main evasion skill of a caster and vanished from the sword’s path, reappearing behind and slightly above the family head. She had intended to land on his shoulders, but the family head made a quick step in the air and evaded.

Ting!

In a fluid motion, he transformed that step into a turn and recovered his sword to strike the falling her from below. She didn’t evade this time, instead she blocked the strike to her stomach with both her forearms

Being struck in free fall, without the sword being able to penetrate the armor, meant only one thing. Evee was bounced back up in the air by the cultivator’s attack. She didn’t get to travel straight up for long, as the family head appeared right beside her to attack again.

Ting! Ting! Ting!

The exchange happened a couple more times, and the necromancer was flung around like a ball, and the sect leader played with her like a naughty cat. Of course, the cultivator’s grimace turned more vicious by the second, and he wasted time failing to kill her, while his men were dying in the estate below

Ting!

Again, Evee blocked with her right arm and became a project moving parallel to the ground. But when Ye Mer appeared this time, Evee blinked right behind him and struck his back with a , a pugilist skill.

“Gah!” the cultivator exclaimed, falling, stumbling forward in the air.

Not only did the strike land, but it also successfully transmitted her aura of decay to the family leader. Where she hit, fabric and flesh were quickly rotting away. But as one would expect from a high-tier boss, the damage was contained to the place she hit. Ye Mer quickly regained his bearing, turning around to bisect her in one slash; his blade carried a dangerous blue aura.

Ting! Crack!

Hitting the black, forged crystal, the sword, covered in power, broke. The sword aura dissolved in an outburst of true essence, painting the sky above the Ye Residence a colorful blue for a moment. Aghast, the family head witnessed his treasured sword fail him.

“You shouldn’t have put so much force into such an aged sword,” Evee taunted maliciously, a mean smirk playing around her lips as she fell again. The aura of decay transmitted to the sword with every strike she blocked had finally done its job and weakened the sword to the point it failed.

Although the family head was powerful, his weapon wasn’t. Seeing how it broke after less than twenty hits, it was an epic blade at best. The durability also didn’t seem to be the highest.

“Did you vermin think this was my only sword?” Ye Mer asked, incensed, as another blade appeared in his hand, probably retrieved from a storage item. “Die!” he exclaimed and attacked. The sword was covered in a massive blue aura that felt like raging ocean waves.

The whole body was now covered in this aura. As his strikes became faster and more powerful, he drove Evee faster and faster toward the ground. The immortal witch could no longer block all attacks with her former ease, suffering some strikes to the softer parts of her armor.

Ye Mer still couldn’t cut her, but nicks and scratches began appearing on the . Finally, she crashed into the ground, close to the gates to the inner residence. The cloud of dust was blown away by the Dao Realm expert rushing at Evee.

“This all ends here!” Ye Mer exclaimed. Activating the Tsunami Dragon Thrust, he was sure to end this whole nightmare with this strike. His rusty sword was pointing at the sky, bursting with an ocean blue stream of sword energy.

“Right, times up. You should have hurried a little more,” Evee answered unperturbed and vanished with , appearing tens of meters behind the cultivator. However, he turned his waist with almost unnatural flexibility and redirected his strike toward her new location.

“You cannot escape this strike!” he exclaimed, activating the technique. A massive wave of power in the shape of a dragon made of ocean currents rushed at the witch. She looked at the attack with some surprise but took no action to evade. The next moment, the terrifying energy attacked a pillar that appeared out of nowhere and burst apart.

“What?!” the family head exclaimed in shock when his attack, that would have flattened any building in this direction, burst apart. upon meeting a pillar. Where did that even come from!? It didnʼt even look like his attack did much damage!

“I wasnʼt exactly running away, just getting out of the way~” the with said, showing him a bright smile. Then he felt something gripping his legs. Almost immediately, he felt like his true essence was being drained!

“Roots?” the thought shot through his mind before he was distracted by a sudden noise.

What he heard was the sound of breaking stone and rubble falling. Then he saw it. More and more “pillars” were shooting up from the ground around him. Yes, Up. He swung his sword, cutting the roots that shot for his arm and continued cutting those binding his legs.

“You! Just what creature have you brought, for it to know Energy Drain Techniques!?” he exclaimed, shocked to suddenly face a fiend capable of such demonic means. The womanʼs grin did not vanish from her lips; it only became wider.

“Itʼs not a creature. Itʼs a tree.” She corrected him, and a forest of roots rose from the ground, piercing cultivators and undead alike. Only now did Ye Mer realize that the initial army had retreated. Only the corpses of his people were left, lying siege to the inner residence like mindless beasts, keen on having their kin join them.

Was this the end of the Ye Family?
