My Reconstruction Talent is too OP!!!

The Sky Devouring Serpent suddenly lunged forward.

Its enormous body moved so quickly that the five students barely had time to react.

Kaiser immediately moved to the side, but the serpent changed direction in mid-movement and opened its jaws toward him.

’It can change direction that quickly?’

He raised the Radiant Sword of Light and struck the serpent’s lower jaw, using Shattered Soul to disrupt the force of its attack.

CLANG!

The impact barely slowed the monster.

Kaiser was forced backward as the serpent’s jaws snapped shut just inches away from him.

Before he could regain his balance, the serpent turned toward Alex.

”Alex, watch out!”

Alex immediately summoned his jade vines and pulled himself sideways. The Sky Devouring Serpent chased after him, opening its enormous mouth in an attempt to swallow him whole.

Alex swung his greatsword and released several sharpened vines toward its eyes.

The serpent closed its eyes and continued charging.

The vines struck its scales and broke apart, barely affecting its momentum.

”Damn it!”

Alex pulled himself upward with another vine just as the serpent’s jaws snapped shut beneath him.

The monster missed him, but it immediately twisted its neck and tried to swallow him again.

Alex barely escaped by swinging around a broken pillar.

”Why is this thing so obsessed with eating us?!” he shouted.

”Because it can devour more than just physical objects!” Kaiser replied. ”Don’t let its mouth get close to you!”

The Sky Devouring Serpent had already demonstrated its ability to consume the surrounding energy and matter. Kaiser had no intention of discovering what would happen if a person was caught inside its jaws.

Meanwhile, John and Henrick attacked from opposite directions.

John formed several shadow blades and sent them toward the serpent’s eyes, while Henrick created angled shadow barriers to restrict its movements.

The serpent abruptly turned toward John.

Before he could react, it rushed forward and attempted to swallow him.

John’s eyes widened.

”Shit!”

He immediately transformed his shadow into a long tendril and attached it to a distant stone pillar.

The serpent’s jaws snapped shut around empty air as John pulled himself out of its path.

However, the monster continued chasing him.

John swung around the pillar, using his Rule to change the shape of his shadow and redirect his movement. The serpent followed him, smashing through the stone structure as it tried to catch him.

”Henrick! A little help here!”

Henrick immediately spread his shadows beneath the serpent.

Several thick shadow pillars rose from the ground, attempting to push its head away from John.

The Sky Devouring Serpent opened its mouth and inhaled.

The shadow pillars began breaking apart as their energy was drawn toward its jaws.

Henrick’s expression changed.

’It’s consuming my Rule energy!’

He immediately withdrew his shadows before the serpent could absorb any more of them.

John used that brief moment to escape, landing beside Henrick.

The two looked at each other, both breathing heavily.

”This thing can even devour our Rules!” John exclaimed.

”Not exactly,” Kaiser called from a distance. ”It seems to consume the energy sustaining them. Don’t let it absorb your attacks directly!”

He had noticed that the serpent’s suction was strongest near its mouth. Once an attack entered the black-green aura surrounding its jaws, its energy rapidly disappeared.

Their Rules could still affect the monster, but they had to avoid giving it a chance to consume their attacks.

The Sky Devouring Serpent suddenly abandoned John and turned toward Pascot.

Pascot had been moving between the shadows, waiting for an opportunity to strike its weak points. However, the monster seemed to have noticed his presence.

Its two glowing eyes focused on the broken pillar behind which he was hiding.

Pascot’s expression stiffened.

’How did it find me?’

Before he could move, the serpent rushed toward the pillar and swallowed it in one bite.

The enormous stone structure disappeared into its mouth.

Pascot immediately jumped backward, barely escaping the attack.

He landed on the ground and rolled several times before regaining his footing.

”That was way too close!”

The serpent lowered its head and rushed toward him again.

Pascot immediately disappeared into the shadows, moving toward the monster’s blind spot.

However, the Sky Devouring Serpent abruptly turned its head and snapped its jaws toward the location where he reappeared.

Pascot barely managed to dodge.

He retreated toward Kaiser, his expression more serious than before.

”It can track my movements even when I use my Rule to conceal myself.”

Kaiser nodded.

”The transformation probably improved its perception as well. We can’t depend on hiding from it anymore.”

The serpent continued moving around the clearing, attacking one student after another.

It tried to swallow Alex whenever he approached with his vines, chased John whenever he launched shadow blades, and repeatedly turned toward Henrick whenever he attempted to block its movements.

Even Pascot’s carefully timed attacks failed to create a reliable opening.

The battle had become much more chaotic than before.

Unlike the first phase, when the serpent relied on its poisonous armor and long-range attacks, its transformed body allowed it to move rapidly and attack from unexpected angles.

Worse still, every time the students tried to defend themselves with their Rules, the monster attempted to devour the energy supporting their abilities.

Kaiser quickly realized that continuing like this would exhaust them before they could defeat the boss.

’We need to stop it from moving so freely.’

He watched the serpent chase Alex around the clearing.

Although its speed had increased significantly, it still needed to open its mouth to swallow its targets. Whenever it did so, its movements became slightly more predictable.

Kaiser immediately called out to his teammates.

”Alex, keep it focused on you! John and Henrick, don’t attack its mouth directly. Use your shadows to restrict its movements whenever it opens its jaws!”

Alex looked at him in disbelief.

”You want me to keep being its target?”

”You’re the best person here at controlling its direction with your vines. Just don’t let it catch you!”

Alex gritted his teeth.

”Fine! But you owe me one after this!”

He immediately rushed toward the serpent and swung his greatsword.

”Blood Sap!”

Jade vines spread across the ground, strengthening under the influence of his Rule. Several thick vines shot toward the serpent’s neck, forcing it to turn toward him.

The Sky Devouring Serpent opened its jaws and lunged.

Alex immediately pulled himself sideways.

At the same time, John spread his shadows across the ground and shaped them into several curved blades. Rather than attacking the serpent directly, he sent them toward the sides of its neck, forcing it to adjust its head while pursuing Alex.

Henrick followed by forming a series of shadow barriers behind the serpent’s head.

The barriers did not attempt to stop the monster’s full strength. Instead, they narrowed its available movement, preventing it from turning as freely as before.

For the first time since its transformation, the Sky Devouring Serpent’s movements became restricted.

”Now, Pascot!” Kaiser shouted.

Pascot immediately appeared behind the monster.

He formed a long shadow blade and struck the exposed scales near the base of its neck.

The attack left a shallow cut.

The serpent roared and twisted around, abandoning its pursuit of Alex to attack Pascot.

However, Pascot had already disappeared.

Kaiser seized the opportunity and rushed forward.

He raised the Radiant Sword of Light, concentrating the Shatter aspect of Shattered Soul along its edge.

Rather than striking the serpent’s thick scales, he targeted the damaged section Pascot had created.

CRACK!

A small fracture appeared.

The serpent immediately turned toward Kaiser, opening its jaws to swallow him.

Kaiser retreated just in time.

Its teeth snapped shut, and the black-green aura around its mouth swept across the ground, consuming several fragments of stone.

Kaiser landed beside Alex and frowned.

’Even with its movements restricted, we still can’t hold it in place for long.’

The serpent’s strength was simply too great. Their Rules could interfere with its movements, but none of them could restrain it completely.

However, their attacks had revealed something useful.

The Sky Devouring Serpent’s scales were still difficult to break, but its transformed body was not completely invulnerable. If they could repeatedly attack the same damaged area, they might be able to penetrate its defenses.

Kaiser quickly shared his observation.

”Keep targeting the same spot! Don’t waste your attacks on its entire body. We need to break through its scales before it can recover!”

John and Henrick nodded.

Alex immediately strengthened his vines again, while Pascot began circling the monster to search for another opening.

The Sky Devouring Serpent raised its head and released a furious hiss.

Its body suddenly coiled around the clearing before it launched itself toward all five students.

This time, it did not focus on swallowing a single target.

Instead, it moved between them at terrifying speed, opening its jaws whenever one of them attempted to attack.

Kaiser dodged to the left as the serpent rushed past him.

John pulled himself behind a broken pillar, only for the monster to smash through it.

Henrick raised a shadow barrier, but the serpent consumed part of its energy before crashing through the remaining structure.

Alex narrowly escaped another attempt to swallow him by pulling himself upward with his vines.

Pascot tried to strike the serpent’s flank, but it twisted around and snapped its jaws toward him, forcing him to retreat.

The five students were barely keeping up.

Kaiser gritted his teeth as he watched the monster continue its assault.

’At this rate, we won’t be able to land enough attacks to defeat it.’

The Sky Devouring Serpent suddenly stopped.

Its two glowing eyes swept across the clearing before settling on Kaiser.

The monster lowered its head and opened its mouth.

The black-green aura surrounding its jaws began expanding.

Kaiser immediately felt the powerful suction pulling at his body again.

This time, however, the serpent was not trying to swallow a broken pillar or a piece of the ground.

It was aiming directly at him.

”KAISER!” Alex shouted.

Kaiser drove the Radiant Sword of Light into the ground and resisted the pull, but the surrounding stones began sliding toward the serpent’s mouth.

His feet slowly moved across the ground.

The suction grew stronger.

Kaiser narrowed his eyes as he realized that the monster was concentrating its devouring ability on a single target.

’If I let it pull me any closer, I’ll be in serious trouble.’

He immediately gathered the power of Shattered Soul and focused the Shatter aspect on the ground beneath his feet.

CRACK!

The stone fractured, allowing him to anchor his sword deeper into the ground.

For a brief moment, the pull slowed.

But the Sky Devouring Serpent was already moving forward.

Its enormous head rushed toward him, and its jaws opened wide enough to swallow his entire body.

Kaiser released his sword and jumped sideways at the last possible moment.

The serpent’s jaws snapped shut.

BANG!

Its head slammed into the ground, creating another massive crater.

Kaiser landed hard and rolled across the broken stones before coming to a stop.

He quickly stood up, gripping the Radiant Sword of Light again.

His expression had become considerably more serious.

The Sky Devouring Serpent was no longer simply trying to overpower them.

It was hunting them one by one, using its speed and devouring ability to prevent them from coordinating their attacks.

If they wanted to survive this battle, they would have to find a way to turn that aggressive fighting style against the monster itself.
