Celestial Beast Taming

Chapter 365: Chapter 215: My Name is Tao En

They would even offer up members of their main branch who offended a Five-finger Creator as an apology.

For a massive clan with an Elder Council of over three hundred, there were too many conflicting interests. Everything revolved around profit.

As the saying goes, what reaches its peak must begin to decline. In Tao En’s eyes, the Zhou Family’s decline had already started the moment they began targeting their own outstanding younger generation.

Even when Tao En was just a Five-finger Peak Creator, he could afford to offend the Zhou Family.

Now that he was a Six-finger Creator, he paid the Zhou Family no mind at all.

”My name is Tao En. Go back and tell your master who I am.”

”I am protecting Zhou Yang. If anyone from your Zhou Family comes looking for trouble with him again, they had better think carefully about the consequences.”

”Furthermore, Zhou Yang’s parents’ bodies should still be with the Zhou Family. Have your master send you back to deliver them, intact.”

Tao En didn’t kill the Mythical Tier assassin, as he still had a task for the man to carry out.

’In a few days, I’ll be announcing my new status as the Xin Xia Federation’s seventh Six-finger Creator.’

’When the Zhou Family hears the news, they won’t dare to trouble Zhou Yang again.’

Having said his piece, Tao En tossed a Potion to Zhou Yang.

He then pulled Zhou Yang onto the back of the Shadow Horned Deer, and they returned to Zhong Yi’s residence in no time.

Seeing Zhou Yang’s grateful expression, Tao En spoke with a kindly face.

”You don’t have to thank me. The young master instructed me to say all that.”

”The young master is waiting for you in the reception room to the left on the second floor. Go on up.”

Zhong Ling hadn’t been to class at Starlight Academy for the past few days because she was with Zhao Kai, getting outfitted with new Guardian Beasts.

Zhong Ling stepped forward and offered,

”Grandmaster Tao En, let me take him to see the young master.”

As she spoke, Zhong Ling took a thick roll of gauze from her Storage Pouch and gently placed it over the hole in Zhou Yang’s shoulder, where the Tongue Blade had pierced through.

Zhou Yang had just drunk the Potion from Tao En, so the bleeding had mostly stopped.

However, Zhou Yang couldn’t lift his left arm, and a hole the size of an egg was visible in his shoulder.

If not for the detoxifying properties of the Potion Tao En had just given him, the corrosive venom from the mucus on the Split-mouthed Iguana’s Tongue Blade would have likely already eaten through half of Zhou Yang’s body.

Zhong Ling didn’t know who Zhou Yang was, but she knew that anyone brought here by Tao En and deemed worthy of meeting Zhong Yi would likely become one of their own in the future.

For the past few days, Zhou Yang had been sleepless, his mind a chaotic mess from his parents’ deaths and his abandonment by the Zhou Family.

He had just survived an assassination attempt, forced to watch as the subordinates he had carefully cultivated were slaughtered before his eyes.

Then, just as his life hung by a thread, he was rescued by someone sent by Zhong Yi.

Earlier, when Tao En had stated his name to the assassin, Zhou Yang had found the name strangely familiar.

He felt like he had heard it somewhere before, but he just couldn’t place it.

But hearing Zhong Ling address him as ”Grandmaster Tao En” instantly reminded Zhou Yang of a rumor he had heard a while back.

Tao En, the Five-finger Peak Creator from Longya City whose soul had been injured, had left Longya City and joined Starlight City.

And shortly after arriving in Starlight City, he had regained his abilities as a Five-finger Peak Creator.

Rumor had it that Tao En’s recovery was thanks to the treatment he received from Lord Su Sheng, a Healing-type Celestial Destiny Seeker with an SSS Level potential rating.

’The only person Tao En would call ”young master” must be the one who saved his life—the Healing-type Celestial Destiny Seeker, Lord Su Sheng.’

’But it was Zhong Yi who sent me the message... Could it be? Is the Zhong Yi who came to Senhe Hall to buy Guardian Beasts actually Lord Su Sheng?!’

As Zhou Yang followed Zhong Ling upstairs, another thought struck him. Zhong Ling had just called Tao En ”Grandmaster Tao En.”

’Grandmaster!?’

’Isn’t that an honor reserved only for Six-finger Creators?’

’Could it be...?’

Zhou Yang’s eyes widened, and for a moment, he was completely stunned, unsure how to react.

It was like an ordinary person from a middle-class family suddenly being granted a direct audience with the emperor.

Zhou Yang felt like he was in a dream; it all seemed too surreal.

Zhong Ling, who had been watching Zhou Yang the whole time, saw his expression shifting constantly like a painter’s palette.

Zhong Ling said softly,

”You don’t need to be nervous. The young master is very easy to talk to.”

”Besides, the young master can heal your injuries without any trouble at all.”

Zhong Ling’s words directly confirmed Zhou Yang’s suspicions.

’If Zhong Yi were just an S-Level Combat-type Celestial Destiny Seeker, how could he possibly possess a Healing Ability capable of regenerating a mangled body?’

Zhou Yang stared at the half-open door before him, took a deep breath, and knocked gently.

He was about to wait for a response before entering, but the door was pulled open from the inside.

Zhou Yang saw Zhong Yi once again!

On the way back, Tao En had told Zhong Yi that Zhou Yang was injured.

Zhong Yi raised his hand, summoning the Resurrection Celestial Lord. After a Core of Resurgence embedded itself in the hole in Zhou Yang’s shoulder, a wave of Healing Energy washed over him.

In mere moments, the gaping hole in Zhou Yang’s shoulder, along with all the scrapes on his body, were completely healed.

If not for the bloodstains and the torn hole in his clothing, no one would have believed he had been grievously injured just moments ago.

Inside the reception room, Zhou Yang was extremely stiff and formal in Zhong Yi’s presence.

But in his heart, Zhou Yang was already fairly certain why Zhong Yi wanted to see him.

Just as Zhou Yang was about to speak first, Zhong Yi said,

”Vice President Fu speaks very highly of your abilities. I haven’t had much contact with you, so I’m not yet familiar with your strengths.”

”If I wanted to establish a chamber of commerce, with branches in every Heroic City across the Xin Xia Federation, how would you go about it?”

Zhong Yi got straight to the point, asking the very question he wanted answered.

This was also the primary task he needed Zhou Yang to perform for him if he were to take him in.

Zhong Yi needed a talented manager to help him on the Virtual Source Network.

However, for someone to log into the Virtual Source Network, Zhong Yi would have to provide them with a Source Material Celestial Shuttle.

Zhong Yi wasn’t about to spend three points of Divine Origin Value to just give a Source Material Celestial Shuttle to Zhou Yang.

Zhong Yi needed to see Zhou Yang’s abilities first. If his performance didn’t meet expectations, Zhong Yi wouldn’t regret saving his life, but he wouldn’t let Zhou Yang become a member of Soul Soil.

Hearing Zhong Yi’s question, Zhou Yang didn’t rush to answer. Instead, he said,

”Lord Su Sheng, with your status, establishing a chamber of commerce and opening branches in other Heroic Cities would be a simple matter.”

”I need to know your objective for founding this chamber of commerce. Only then can I know how to best serve your interests.”

Hearing this, Zhong Yi looked at Zhou Yang with a faint, unreadable smile.

”If you’re as smart as they say, you should already know why I want to establish a chamber of commerce.”

”Why don’t you take a guess.”

Ever since Zhong Yi had posed the question, Zhou Yang’s mind had been racing.

Zhou Yang had asked his own question to ensure his answer would be more precise.

In truth, he already had a theory.

”Lord Su Sheng, you’re establishing this chamber of commerce for one reason: resources.”

”Building a chamber of commerce is a laborious affair that requires immense investment in personnel, materials, and liquid capital.”

”If your goal was simply to make money, there would be no need to establish a chamber of commerce.”

”But since you do, it must mean you hope to use it to create a stable channel for acquiring all kinds of resources, especially rare ones.”

”If that is your goal, I can help you establish this chamber of commerce in a very short amount of time.”

”I was previously responsible for the Golden Leaf Chamber of Commerce’s market expansion in Beihan City, and I also served as the director of Senhe Hall in Starlight City.”

”Based on your needs, we can adopt a parallel business model, running a chamber of commerce alongside a hall.”

”The chamber of commerce would be responsible for the stable acquisition of basic resources, while the hall, in my view, would be an excellent channel for acquiring high-end ones.”

”A hall established under your name would become the Xin Xia Federation’s newest, most exclusive hub of fame and power!”
