Celestial Beast Taming

Chapter 160: Chapter 113: Demon Spirit: Treasure Guarding Salamander Pot

After placing the routine Secret Realm reward—the Shelter—and the chilling Ice Attribute Secret Realm Heart into his Storage Pouch, Zhong Yi carefully examined the small pot in the middle of the stone pedestal. Its diameter did not exceed twenty centimeters.

The small pot was exquisitely crafted, with the totem of some small reptile etched onto its surface.

Among Guardian Beasts, some indeed took the form of artifacts.

These Guardian Beasts were called Demon Spirit Guardian Beasts.

The Substitute Puppet, one of the three great Household Beasts of the Xin Xia Federation, was a type of Demon Spirit Guardian Beast.

Before being bound by a Contract, it looked just like a small doll in a box.

With Demon Spirit Guardian Beasts, it was difficult to know what kind of changes would occur after a Contract was made.

Filled with curiosity, Zhong Yi used All Things Exploration to inspect the pot.

[Guardian Beast Name]: Treasure Guarding Salamander Pot

[Guardian Beast Species]: Demon Artifact Species/Salamander Artifact Species

[Guardian Beast Level]: Mortal Beast Level (/10)

[Guardian Beast Type]: Demon Spirit Element

[Guardian Beast Quality]: Ordinary Quality

Skills:

[Treasure Contract]: Cannot actively raise its own Tier or Quality and is unable to leave its territory. It can form Contracts with things inside its territory. Once a Contract is formed, all damage taken by the contracted party is transferred to itself. Its strength becomes the sum total of the strength of all contracted parties.

After the inspection, the expression on Zhong Yi’s face became a little strange.

’The Treasure Guarding Salamander Pot is truly an interesting Demon Spirit Guardian Beast!’

Its Basic Skill, Treasure Contract, defined the core nature of the Treasure Guarding Salamander Pot as a Demon Spirit Guardian Beast.

The Treasure Guarding Salamander Pot couldn’t raise its own Tier and Quality. After marking an area as its territory, it would become an existence like an Earth-bound Spirit, only able to move within that territory.

Although the Treasure Guarding Salamander Pot couldn’t actively increase its strength, it could form Contracts with other Creatures in its territory.

However, this type of Contract wasn’t as firm as the one between a Guardian Beast Master and a Guardian Beast.

If the Treasure Guarding Salamander Pot left its territory, or if the contracted Creature chose to leave, the Contract would be voided.

But as long as both parties remained within the same territory, the Treasure Guarding Salamander Pot could bear all damage inflicted upon the contracted Life, whether from external sources or sustained during its growth.

While shouldering this damage, the Treasure Guarding Salamander Pot’s strength would be the sum total of the Tiers and Qualities of all contracted Creatures.

’In my opinion, this skill, Treasure Contract, is both interesting and holds extremely high potential.’

In Zhong Yi’s mind, the Treasure Guarding Salamander Pot had two immediate uses.

The first use was to strengthen the defensive combination formed by the Sunlight Thorn and the Thorny Sparrow Hunters.

As long as the Sunlight Thorn absorbed sunlight, it could raise its Tier and Quality.

The Tier and Quality of the Thorny Sparrow Hunters would then increase in sync with the Sunlight Thorn.

Within this defensive circle, the Treasure Guarding Salamander Pot could use its skill, Treasure Contract, to form Contracts with the Sunlight Thorn and these Thorny Sparrow Hunters.

The Treasure Guarding Salamander Pot’s strength would then be the sum of the strengths of the Sunlight Thorn and the Thorny Sparrow Hunters.

’This would undoubtedly make the Treasure Guarding Salamander Pot incredibly powerful!’

Alternatively, the Treasure Guarding Salamander Pot could also be used to protect those delicate production-type Guardian Beasts.

The damage sustained by some special production-type Guardian Beasts during their growth or while producing offspring could be transferred to the Treasure Guarding Salamander Pot for it to bear.

By absorbing the damage to protect those delicate production-type Guardian Beasts, the Treasure Guarding Salamander Pot would essentially be protecting the foundation and wealth of a faction.

Many production-type Guardian Beasts have high Tiers and Quality but possess little to no actual strength.

The Tiers and Quality of these production-type Guardian Beasts could also be transferred to the Treasure Guarding Salamander Pot, giving it powerful combat capabilities.

However, if the Treasure Guarding Salamander Pot were to protect those production-type Guardian Beasts and absorb damage for them, its strength would certainly not be as high as it would from contracting the Sunlight Thorn and the Thorny Sparrow Hunters.

Of course, these two options were just ideas that came to Zhong Yi after he inspected the Treasure Guarding Salamander Pot’s Skills.

The Treasure Guarding Salamander Pot’s actual practicality would have to be determined after the Contract was formed, based on the size of the territory it could establish as its Tier and Quality increased.

It could be said that the larger the territory the Treasure Guarding Salamander Pot could establish with its Skills, the higher its value would be.

For a Guardian Beast like the Treasure Guarding Salamander Pot, Zhong Yi considered using a Soul Taming Seed Contract.

During the past few days of exploring the Ice Cave Secret Realm, the Soul-Controlling Flower had been continuously absorbing the Life and Soul Energy from the Demon Remains in his Storage Pouch.

The Soul-Controlling Flower had already absorbed nearly a third of the Demon Remains Chen Yin had prepared for him.

In these past three-plus days, the Soul-Controlling Flower had produced two more Soul Taming Seeds.

Once he left the Ice Cave Secret Realm, Zhong Yi could return directly to his residence in the Central District.

Zhong Yi would use these two newly formed Soul Taming Seeds to form Contracts with the Sunlight Thorn and this newly acquired Demon Spirit Guardian Beast, the Treasure Guarding Salamander Pot.

It would take some time for the Blood-Beauty Peony to flower and produce pollen.

Therefore, Zhong Yi wasn’t in a hurry to form a Contract with the Blood Enchanting Bee Queen.

Zheng Yufeng had told Zhong Yi that Chen Yin had two A+ Level Deceit Beast Masters whose Deceit Beasts could synergize with each other.

Forming a Contract with the Moon Eyes Bellflower also needed to be prioritized.

At the Soul-Controlling Flower’s current production rate, it would only take another three or four days to create two more Soul Taming Seeds.

Before his next exploration of a First Level Secret Realm, and before entering the First Level Divine Origin Slaughter Secret Realm, Zhong Yi would form Contracts with both the Blood Enchanting Bee Queen and the Moon Eyes Bellflower.
