My Superpower Leads Me to Murderers

Chapter 241: Chapter 241: The Matter is Resolved

Tom Thompson cautiously moved to the doorway. Before he could even step out, he saw that the spot where Ray Reid should have been sitting now held nothing but a collar.

”Impossible!”

Keith Garrison cried out in disbelief. He had broken both of Ray Reid’s arms; there was no way he could have reached the combination lock on the back.

Besides, in his current condition, just walking or standing up would have been difficult. He would have definitely made some noise; there was no way they could have heard nothing!

”He just vanished out of thin air again.” Shane Lynch’s expression was grim. His three ”playthings” had disappeared in the exact same way!

Keith Garrison recalled that before he came over, his boss had said the same thing and told him to investigate.

He never expected that before he could even start looking into it, Ray Reid would vanish too.

If Ray Reid had disappeared along with the collar, he could have still remotely detonated the bomb and blown the escapee to bits.

But now the man was gone, and the collar was left perfectly intact!

In other words, his backup plan was completely useless! Even the undercover agent he’d captured, Ray Reid, was gone!

The losses from this trip were too great. Keith Garrison’s temple throbbed with anger. He couldn’t be bothered with anything else and coldly ordered Tom Thompson to check the situation. ”I’d like to see who’s playing ghost tricks here! Tom Thompson, go out and see what the hell is going on.”

The moment Tom Thompson stepped out of the room, he clutched his neck and collapsed, a look of disbelief on his face.

Inside, Keith Garrison and Shane Lynch stared, their eyes wide with shock. ’What the hell is happening now?!’

’Did the cops sneak in? Or is there someone waiting outside the window to snipe us if we go out?’

’No, that’s not right.’

Keith Garrison replayed what he’d just seen. Tom Thompson had clutched the side of his neck that was closer to the wall, which meant his attacker was on the wall side.

’But there’s nowhere to hide over there!’

’So how did the ambusher manage it?’

Outside the window, Evan Keller and his team were watching like hawks. Across the way, there was also someone of unknown identity lying in wait.

’How am I supposed to get past these people and escape?’

At this point, Keith Garrison had completely forgotten about the mission. His mind was consumed with a single thought: how to escape this place.

For a moment, neither he nor Shane Lynch dared to make a move. They hid on either side of the window, backs against the wall, facing each other.

They didn’t dare peek out, and they didn’t dare leave.

The situation reached a stalemate. Keith Garrison’s hand fumbled for a remote detonator, his eyes glinting with malice.

’There’s no escape anyway. If that group dares to show their faces, I don’t mind taking them all down with me!’

Meanwhile, on the other side, Heath Hale and Zoe Sawyer were guarding the door, but no one had come out for a long time.

During this time, worried that Tom Thompson might wake up, Zoe Sawyer gave him a few more injections. Only after confirming he wouldn’t be waking up for two or three days did she nod in satisfaction.

Sean Hughes, meanwhile, was stationed by Officer Lee’s computer. Through the mini-camera, he could see half of Shane Lynch’s body as he hid inside.

But Keith Garrison was in a complete blind spot; the mini-camera couldn’t see him at all.

”I’m not waiting anymore. I’ll open a small door, move it behind him, and take him out quickly.” Zoe Sawyer felt that waiting any longer wasn’t a solution and proposed her idea.

Heath Hale thought about it. It was actually a viable plan, so he agreed to Zoe Sawyer’s request.

Soon, Zoe Sawyer moved the door behind Keith Garrison.

The moment she opened it, she saw Keith Garrison’s body jolt upright, his posture tense.

Zoe Sawyer’s heart skipped a beat, and she quickly shut the door.

The next second, Keith Garrison whipped his head around to look behind him, but he found nothing—only a smooth, bare wall.

”What’s wrong with you?” Shane Lynch looked confused, apparently not understanding the reason for his sudden movement.

Keith Garrison stared at the wall for a long time, then reached out to touch it. Only after confirming there was nothing there did he slowly lean back against it.

But as soon as he leaned back, he whipped his head around again, and still found nothing.

He repeated this several times, making Shane Lynch roll his eyes in annoyance.

Zoe Sawyer, who had quietly opened a small door in the opposite corner to observe, couldn’t help but gasp. She hadn’t expected this Keith Garrison to be so cautious.

After waiting several more minutes and confirming he wouldn’t make any more sudden moves, Zoe Sawyer moved the door over again, quickly opened it, and took him down with a tranquilizer dart.

Shane Lynch, who had been about to say something, saw Keith Garrison inexplicably collapse and leaped to his feet.

He completely forgot about Evan Keller and the others watching like hawks outside the window. He rushed to Keith Garrison’s side, and just as he was about to shake him awake, Heath Hale opened the door behind him and shot him. Following his colleague’s lead, he passed out on the spot.

”Done and done! Let’s get them inside and locked up!” Zoe Sawyer clapped her hands excitedly. She then opened the main door and had Sean Hughes and Heath Hale bring people over to carry the three men back.

On their way back, they remembered to search them, confiscating all the equipment and weapons on their bodies.

As for the bomb collar left outside, it was also carefully secured. It would be sent to the professionals for disposal later.

After confirming there were no other loose ends, Zoe Sawyer used her door to bring Evan Keller and the others back.

Meanwhile, Barry Quinn and Monkey also made a trip to the scene to retrieve the surveillance equipment left behind and clean up all traces of their presence.

Only after making sure they hadn’t left any evidence behind did they leave with peace of mind.

After returning, everyone had an unusually excited smile on their face.

The same was true for Hayden Shaw and the other recent additions to the team.

’No wonder Evan Keller’s group got promoted so fast. They’ve been involved in cases like this from the very beginning!’

”Good work, everyone. The upcoming interrogations will be a major challenge. Get some rest. Starting tomorrow, we have another tough battle ahead of us,” Heath Hale announced loudly to the others in the office.

Sean Hughes and the others waved their hands, indicating they understood.

Criminals like Keith Garrison and Shane Lynch would definitely have to be handed over to the colleagues who successfully interrogated Ruby and Six last time.

Their group’s targets were the ones caught on the perimeter.

Some are easy to interrogate, but many are tight-lipped. Getting everything out of them would be no simple task.

”Well, that’s that. The serial murder case can be considered closed. We should announce that we’ve caught the killer to reassure the public,” Evan Keller said, shaking his head with a sigh as he glanced at the tightly bound and unconscious forms of Shane Lynch and Keith Garrison on the floor.

”Have the three who were rescued been properly vetted?” Zoe Sawyer asked, remembering the three young girls they had saved from Shane Lynch.

Hayden Shaw, who had been monitoring the situation, nodded. ”They’re high school students from a nearby school. The little girl they were protecting is the younger sister of one of them.

”Their identities checked out, and they’ve been cleared of any suspicion. We’ve already contacted their families to come pick them up.”

”They’re about to question the undercover agent. Do you want to go?”
