Our Anniversary, You Chose Her – I Chose Divorce

William Quinn rarely held her this gently. He was always excited, frantic. The moment he touched her, he would act like a beast dying of thirst stumbling upon an oasis, kissing her with desperate urgency until she was left gasping for air.

Such quiet moments were incredibly rare. Iris Yates kept her body stiff, her nerves strung taut. She didn’t dare relax in the slightest, terrified that letting her guard down might unleash his primal urges.

Fortunately, he released her after a short while. He picked up the bowl of porridge, scooped up a spoonful, blew on it gently, and brought it to her lips. Every single one of his movements was incredibly careful, and his blue eyes gazed at her with unwavering focus.

Iris lowered her eyes, hiding her gaze. She avoided looking at him and offered no resistance, obediently letting him feed her.

”Such a good baby.”

William grinned. He loved it when she sheathed her claws and stopped looking at him with disgust. Like this, she was so obedient and soft, making him want to bully her—to ravage her ruthlessly. But he held back. His baby’s body was too weak right now; she wouldn’t be able to withstand his rough treatment. He had to nurse her back to health, making her as supple and radiant as before, so she could endure his ravaging.

Having not eaten for nearly three days, Iris lost her appetite after just a few bites of porridge. But she was afraid of upsetting William. The moment he was displeased, he would lose his mind, and she simply couldn’t bear his wrath. Fighting back her nausea, she forced down an entire bowl.

William wanted to feed her something else, but she shook her head. ”I’m full.”

Conceding, he had someone take the tray away. He then picked Iris up and carried her to the bathroom, personally washing her face and brushing her teeth as if she were a porcelain doll.

Iris was deeply uncomfortable with this. She felt like a marionette, entirely at his mercy. Unable to tolerate it any longer, she said, ”I can do it myself.” She reached out, trying to snatch the toothbrush away.

But William pinned her hand down and spoke with utmost seriousness. ”Baby is very weak and needs to rest. Just leave these things to me.”

Iris furrowed her brows. ”I’m not so weak that I can’t even move.”

William blinked his blue eyes and replied in total earnest, ”But every time we finish making love, you never have any strength left. I’m always the one who cleans you up.”

Iris fell silent. She closed her eyes, repeatedly reminding herself to stay calm.

Seeing her go quiet, William chuckled. ”Baby, just focus on being my favorite baby. I’m going to take very, very good care of you.”

After finishing her face and teeth, he carried her over to the vanity table and sat her down, beginning her skincare routine. His movements were exceptionally gentle, as if he were handling a precious treasure.

Iris kept her eyes shut the entire time, playing dead. However, when he started pulling off her clothes, she could no longer keep up the act. She immediately grabbed his hand, looking at him warily. ”What are you doing?”

”Changing baby’s clothes,” William replied.

”There’s no need. I can do it myself.” Iris was insistent, refusing to let him touch her any further.

But William was even more stubborn. ”Baby, let me take care of you. Don’t reject me, or I’ll get angry.”

”You...” Iris glared at him.

Unable to resist, William leaned in and kissed her—a highly restrained kiss. ”Baby, when you look at me like that, it makes my whole body ache. If you don’t believe me, feel it...”

Saying this, he grabbed her hand and guided it down toward his lower abdomen.
